Mermaid Winery

We were the only guests in the restaurant so the service was top notch. However, the food was awesome. I had the beet salad it was huge and delicious. My husband got the chicken and biscuit. It was so crunchy and flavorful. 10/10 would recommend!!

Stopped in on a quiet night to find the restaurant open but with little traffic. Located in a historic building, if I hadn't of had someone with me who knew where we were going, I would have passed it up.The service was impeccable and our every need was catered to. The food looked and sounded amazing on the menu and in person it looked and tasted good. The presentation and plating was perfect, it was the lack of savory flavor that prevented this from being a 5 star review. The bathrooms had unique decor and all of the staff interactions our party had were fantastic. I'm not much for wine, but it was flowing freely at the table and I heard it was good. A little pricy for the quality, but I didn't mind because of how great the service was!

Had an amazing time here on a Thursday night after work. FoodLove the expanded menu at this location. Fried chicken was on point and crispy. ServiceWe walked in without a reservation. My husband was dressed more casual than intended but they were still welcoming. Ambiance We sat at the bar, drank and ate food there. The bartender was amazingly polite with a great personality.

Service will really do it for me.... Our waiter hardly attended us so we were only able to order one flight and they didn't even give us a last call warning before telling us we could no longer order. The place itself is very nice on the inside and have good wines. I had been here twice before at the Ghent location and had a way better experience previously. Maybe it was the shift on a Saturday night, will have to try again.

Mermaid winery's new location is a fantastic downtown location. The look inside is so bright and vibrant compared to the old railroad location. I've been going to this winery for years for happy hour. The apps are shareable and the flights are my go to when I go. I enjoy my experience everytime I go with my gal pals.

Amazing spot in downtown Norfolk. A very cool building that used to be an old bank, and now has this winery in it. Has a bar and lots of tables and a gorgeous atmosphere. We got two different flights, a white and a bubbles and both were really good. They have lots of different wine choices. We also got the cheese board and it was tasty. The service was great as well. A new favorite spot when I'm here!

Pretty amazing location. I went here for a birthday dinner and it was pretty great ambiance. The parking lot and outside looks like it's a medical office building over instead is actually very nicely decorated. The charcutrie board pictured was very full and the cheeses tasted great. The lamb shank was delicious as well and presentation was worth the price of $27. The bill for a table of 4 with a bottle of wine was $200 which isn't too bad for a higher end restaurant like this. Glad to try a new spot in VB!

After my flight was canceled, I had an extra night and decided to investigate. Service was wonderful. I didn't want anything heavy for dinner and the server suggested the tuna tacos. They were perfect with a lovely glass of wine. If I visited again, I'd probably try a tasting flight for more variety of wines. This would be a lovely date night destination.

We came here for restaurant week...amazing!!! Made reservations on resy cause we weren't sure how busy it would be. Our server, also manager, took care of us! Evan made great suggestions, chatted it up with us, and made sure we were enjoying everything. I got the mermaid wine flight, really yummy! we got tuna poke, ny strip steak, and both poached pear and green tea cheesecake. 10/10 we will be back!!!

Cool spot to grab drinks! The ambiance is very quirky and colorful - there is a giant mermaid mural, orchid wall and lots of interesting furniture and decor. Our server was very nice and helpful and we enjoyed our happy hour experience. The only thing that could be said is that one person in our party asked for a certain wine and was told they were out of it, then another person in our group asked for it and received it. So not sure what happened there... But overall great experience! If you're feeling adventurous, try the Mermangria - it was pretty tasty and the name is hilarious :p
