Manny's Burger

I was in Norfolk recently and it was lunchtime, so I decided to go to Manny's Burger, located on Lafayette Boulevard in the heart of Norfolk. This place is a Norfolk institution, or at least it should be considered one because it has stood the test of time. They have stayed in business for so long because they are doing something right.Let's get into it...Manny's Burger is a little hole in the wall takeout burger joint. There are no frills here. If you're lucky you can score a seat at the one picnic table outside. You place your order through a window and when it's ready they yell out your name. It's very nostalgic and perhaps that's one of the reasons why they have been around for so long. It's a reminder of a time when life was much simpler and far less stressful and complicated.They have many items on their menu but my favorite is the Manny Burger. It's a beef patty served with lettuce, tomato and pickle with boiled ham on top. I know what you're thinking, boiled ham??? Don't knock it until you've tried it. For reasons that I still don't understand, it all just works together so wonderfully well that I wouldn't dream of changing anything. Yum yum and yum. Highly recommend this place. Best fries ever and my burger was perfection.

Second time having Manny's Burgers everything is absolutely delicious. the chicken sandwich, burgers and onion rings cannot recommend enough. A new life long customer for sure.

This is a Norfolk Staple. I was home recently and decided to get a Manny's Special: Manny Burger, Fries and Large Lemonade. Just like I remembered. It never disappoints. If you want a good burger meal at a good price, stop by and try them out.

You better have a big stomach for these sandwiches! This is a much loved take out style spot in a random location. However, the burgers are huge! Even just a single one is big! That being said, Yum! I advise you to call ahead because everything is cooked to order, and you will have to wait. There are people that come and pick up BIG orders and people that don't mind waiting.

Good food and they give refills on drinks.Awesome mustard and chilli dog. Lots of fries given, cheap bacon cheeseburgers.

Manny's Burger is a small little burger shack that is located off of Lafayette. In addition to burgers, they also have steak & cheese, chicken sandwiches, BBQ, fish sandwiches, hot dogs, shrimp baskets, and sides (such as fries and onion rings).The hubs and I came here for an early afternoon snack, and we ordered:+the Manny's Burger - came with mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions; when we had this burger the first time, it was pretty decent; the patty reminded me of those frozen patties you can get at Costco; the toppings were semi-fresh, and I liked the sesame-seeded bun+a side of large fries - these were cooked in old oil, so it was inedible+a side of large onion rings - these were cooked in old oil, so it was inedible+extra large of sweet tea - this was super refreshing; you can also get unlimited refillsOur most recent visit was super disappointing, as the burgers seem to be reheated, and some of the toppings were missing. Even the sweet tea that I enjoyed had an off taste to it, as if it was diluted with something.Staff was efficient and kept the link moving. Who doesn't love manny burger! The hot sausage with chilli & cheese is sooooo good. So are the fries the use after you add the salt they give you. I've never had bad food or service from them!
