Major Phillie Cheesesteaks

I ordered the Ox Tail Cheesesteak and was very satisfied with it. Service was good despite them being busy. Price was a lot higher than I was expecting, but overall a good experience. I definitely think they could remodel the place a bit. The floors were pretty beat up and the downstairs eating area was a mess. I probably won't return but definitely recommend trying at least once if you're in the mood for a good cheesesteak!

Okay. I was born and raised in Philadelphia. Just moving here thought I'd give them a chance. They say the owner is from Philly so yeah, this may be good. Wrong. Several things. One that stands out is the kiosk (eye roll). I cannot say no salt and pepper on it. I can't say much. We ordered two cheese steaks and two onion rings. 1) the cheesesteaks were slightly salty. They were not filled like the ones from Max's or Jim's or Paganos in Philly. The beefiness was missing. He could add cooper sharp cheese to the menu. 2) The onion rings would have tasted better if he did not use his bare hands and eat one from our order. Yes sir. I saw you and it was not cool. 3) The bar with the pickles and peppers was SAD and looked unsafe. Sorry. Pre package them and add them to the kiosk. I don't t know what part of Philly you are from ( west, north, south, uptown, chestnut hill, germantown, brickyard) or other but this was nothing reflective of those places. It's like you open a Jamaican store and dumb down the spices because someone says the rice and peas is too spicy. People here may love it, but this Jawn knows the truth.

The restaraunt located in the beautiful heart of Granby st ! The inside is very welcoming and warm ! The menu is easily navigated ! The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming ! The Philly cheesesteaks are the best cheesesteaks in the 757 area !! Five stars service !! Highly recommended!! I will be back soon !!Zakeea

Nice little hidden spot in downtown Norfolk recommended by a friend. It's very small but clean. The person taking the order didn't want to be at work that day. She wasn't rude but customer service could have been better. I ordered the oxtail egg roll, small chicken Philly and mango lemonade. Eggrolls were great!! Philly was just ok and lemonade was too sweet to drink. That's probably just a preference thing. I'll go back to get egg rolls

The oxtail cheesesteak is one of my go to's when I come to Major Phillies. I also like the jerk salmon philly and the egg rolls are great too! One of the best restaurants in the 757 area hands down and the customer service is top tier as well!

Very sad to give a less-than-stellar review of this place because I had such high hopes and it's been so hyped up. After months of trying to make it over, we finally came on a weekday for lunch. Location is right on Granby near many other incredible establishments. We walked in and I was a bit surprised to see that it wasn't very busy. Love the artsy vibes and decor inside. There isn't much for seating, just a few high top seats against the windows, but no one was eating there when we stopped in.Service was lacking, to say the least. Ordering is done through their tablet/kiosk, which is totally fine. However as a newbie to this place, I had a few questions and was hoping for some recommendations from one of the experts. The gal who was standing nearby acted as if the questions were a major inconvenience. No eye contact, one word answers, etc.After placing our orders, the food came out semi-quickly. We requested them to be dine-in, but they were packed to-go instead, so we decided to just take them home. When we got back to the house, we realized that neither of our meals were prepared exactly as ordered. I had ordered the cheese sauce on my Philly, which was not added and my friend asked for no onions which were plentiful on her sandwich.Overall, the sandwiches were decent but nothing incredible and with the unwelcoming service and incorrect orders, I probably will look elsewhere when craving another Philly.

The cheesesteak was nice and cheesy! The meat was tender. I thoroughly enjoyed this classic. The bread wasn't too think nor too thick. The brothy flavor made this one to desire. The fries are the soggy long cut. I'm personally not the biggest fan of this style. The service was cool. You use the kiosk tablet to order and pay. I do have to say the ambiance is lack luster. It has a cool graffiti vibe in the front, but the downstairs is pretty empty. I feel like the decor is not complete. They have such a cool spot, I hope they are able to continue decorating it. Overall, a super good cheesesteak to satisfy that craving.

The food was below average in my opinion for a Philly cheesesteak. Especially when there are other places that make an amazing cheesesteak in the 757 area. But I had been wanting to give this place a try. My family and waited for over 30 minutes for 3 sandwiches. 1 was a 7 inches the other 2 were 12 inches and the only thing on them was mayo, onion, and pepper 1 12 inch had mushrooms that were not put on it. The wait would not be a problem if the food was good, correct and if the place was busy but were the only people in there. In addition to the food the customer service was non existent. Needless to say I will not be returning and do not recommend if you are wanting a good Philly cheesesteak.

For years, I felt like we could only get a great cheesesteak in Delaware or the Philly area. Now we have great sandwiches right here in Norfolk. If you haven't had one of these cheesesteaks, get one. Fantastic.
