Mackey's Landing Firearms

I have purchased two guns from them, one rifle and one shotgun. Both times the staff was very friendly and went out of there way to be nice and helpful. I will never purchase a gun anywhere but Mackey's.

I've been to this shop about 3 times now and i havent had a problem, in fact I actually found what no one else had at this place. These are firearms we and they are dealing with so dont expect any kind of Sephora treatment. If you dont know what you want or are looking for then im sure they wont have a problem showing you around unless theyre obviously busy then you'll have to research for yourself.

Since I moved here in town, I loved this place, but there was always this (very short gentleman) who hovers over people, and glares at customers. Today I thought I'd give him a chance and dealt with him. I said: "Hey! How's it going? I have some ammo to sell today." The boss looking busy with new inventory couldn't be bothered with it. That makes sense, maybe I could come back another time., I was going to ask..."Should I come back another time, maybe with different ammo, or were they just not taking ammo?Before I even had a chance to get a word out the (very short gentleman) interjected, saying: "HE SAID HE DIDN'T WANT IT!!!!"Then as I'm walking out, the lady at the counter says: "Are you going to pay for that?"Um, it's my ammo, my property.In the next few months I was planning on expanding on my growing collection of firearms. I'm getting rid of old stuff. Now, I'm going to make the drive to Cabela's/BassPro and spend Thousands of dollars.Thank the (very short gentleman) for losing business, there really is no telling how many people won't come back because of him.I honestly wanted to knock the guy out. (I kept that part to myself.)I've worked in Firearms Sales and you don't just start yelling at people for attempting to ask a very simple question.If you can't maintain your composure when dealing with customers, you have no place selling anything to anyone. (Business dealings 101)Other than that, the store and the staff are great. Credit where it is due.Good luck!

Great gun shop! Lots of stock and always had what I was looking for. Staff is always friendly & helpful. Even though they've had to limit ammunition purchase quantities, I've been able to get what I want each time I visit. I'll always visit when I'm in the area.

I bought a .22 revolver from them a day ago, today I was going to clean it before my first range session. I found the pistol had no rifling in the barrel. I know this is not their fault, but when I called to ask about an exchange I was told I had to go through the manufacturer to get it fixed..... how am I supposed to get a firearm to the state of manufacture (GA)? I can't mail it or ship it! They could have done an exchange and then had the pistol returned for credit at the manufacturer. Didn't care about my problem at all. They suggested I fire it and see if I like it.....

I recommend Mackey's to anyone who is looking for something hard to get, or not carried in the mom and pop stores. They notified me when a particular shot gun i was looking for came in, and I picked it up the next day. Their prices reflect the taxes involved, so their price is walking out the door price. I found them to be helpful and friendly, as a matter of fact we talked for a while after I made my purchase. I am going there tomorrow to pick up a hard to find double barrel .410, they actually had it in stock. I asked them to hold it for a day, which they agreed to.

I am thoroughly impressed! They don't lie when they call this place "the largest collection of guns in the country". I don't doubt it. If you're looking for some off the wall type of rare ammunition, they've got it. Want a .50 cal BMG just to feel cool, they've got em. Shotguns, handguns, hunting rifles, you name it they've got it. Even WWII era guns from every country for the collector connoisseur in you.They also have a number of different accessories for guns and a shop for repairs and cleaning. The only negative I had about this place is that they don't allow you to handle any guns if you don't have a purchase permit or concealed carry permit. That meant it was a bummer for me just walking around staring in awe. But no matter what side of the political argument you're on, this is a place worth checking out. Prices, by the way, appear high but as I recall the salesperson said that included tax.

I found the staff to be super awesome. Great selection. They even offered me a discount.Going back this week. I was having lunch @Barefoot Bernies and sat next to the ownerand his wife. tho they didn't buy me lunch , theywere great to talk to . yeah , so I'm a fan.

There are plenty of better gun shops in Greenville, a short distance away, I would not waste my cash on Mackey's , the worst place to purchase a gun in this area. They have an old man salesman who is very rude to his customers it took me only one time to walk out of that place with out buying anything if you go into mackey's gun shop be prepared to be insulted
