Excellent selection and service, I had not been able to find a former command shirt of CVN 65, and they have an excellent location to greater Norfolk.

M&G Surplus is what surplus stores used to be (and still should be!). It is the kind of place where you need to take time (and a good flashlight) to see what it really has to offer. You might want to make sure you also have a current tetanus shot, but it's well worth your while if you're a collector of military memorabilia! The store itself appears to be an old warehouse, and if you are allergic to a little dust than you probably should steer clear; but if you are after some real historical treasures and are willing to put in the effort to look around, you will be well rewarded! The staff are very friendly and very willing to help. I had them going up and down a ladder twice to get items on display, and they happily did so; but what I really love is how reasonable their prices are! I travel the globe and visit surplus stores where and when I can, and it's rare to find one that not only has such a great selection but excellent prices as well!So if you collect militaria, or are a history buff, this is the place you must visit if you are in the area; but as I said be prepared to spend some time there and bring a flashlight to see what's hidden in the dark corners. You'll thank me later!

M & G Sales has the most comprehensive selection of military surplus items, both new and antique, in the Hampton Roads area. The store is huge and sells uniforms going back decades, in addition to other awesome historical artifacts such as WWII posters, magazines from the 30s and 40s, old campaign knives, glasses and mugs from different ships and units, challenge coins, old Bluejacket Manuals and other assorted military writings. The store sells previously owned uniform items such as boots and dress pants at a fraction of what you'd pay for them new at the NEX (maybe 30% of the original prices by my estimate). There's also a wide variety of non-uniform clothing such as slogan t-shirts, ball caps and jewelry. Additionally, the store sells a serious amount of outdoor gear from machetes and canteens to rain ponchos. The bottom line: M & G Sales is a fine military antique store and an expansive hobby shop for military members and/or military aficionados.

Driven by many times but never stopped. It's Halloween time and the kid is a military nut, so here we are! Lots of stuff - you may have to dig, but well worth it. Going through the used items, it's like browsing a museum. And the major surprise? They have a HUGE selection of brand new Lodge cast iron. That alone assures I will be back!

Very friendly staff at location and plentiful amounts of things to get lost looking at.The selection of items was great. However I can't recommend them. I went there to get a navy service top found a ok used one with minor stains. Most ones were $30 range so I didn't think to check price. Turns out it was $50 when I looked at receipt when I left. I looked online found same one at Nex brand new for $42. Looked at receipt and they state no returns. We'll looks like I'll never return to this place either. Hope you enjoyed ripping off a service member.

One of the employees who wasn't even the one helping me, thin WM in mid 60's asked if I wanted to scan the tag from the cargo pants I was wearing when I was buying two other pairs of 511 tactical pants, outright accusing me of trying to steal them. I said that I wore them there, and they were Wrangler Cargo pants and I asked him if they even sold Wrangler? He didn't say anything else about it. What a jerk. Won't be going back there!

I honestly never read the reviews of this place before going here; I just saw that it was highly rated. After visiting, however, I decided to write a review of my own.I had the sincere pleasure of talking with the store owner about military history and that of the store as well. I am thoroughly impressed with the friendliness of the store and the sheer amount military surplus/memorabilia that they carry. It's a very unique thing to find a store that doubles as almost a collector's museum. With so much to see from WWII to Korea to Vietnam to modern military items, everything has it's own story and you could spend hours here if military history piques your interest.I wish that every military surplus store were more like this one; pure, American pride, in my opinion, is the foundation of their values.
