Naturally I chose to go to Loving Cup for my birthday with my friends! Maybe I had a little too much sangria!

This is one of my very favorite winery's I have visited. You can tell it is locally owned and the family actually works and takes pride in their land and their workers. The views are amazing and it was very relaxing. The apple wine was so good I had three glasses and took home a bottle.

The view is beautiful. The staff was friendly. The wine, unfortunately, tasted like kool-aid. My friend and I were unable to finish our tastings. Out of 7 wines, we were able to enjoy one.

Covid Visit:I was intrigued that this is Virginia's only certified-organic vineyard and winery. Tasting includes 6 wines (4 whites, 1 rose, 1 red) and sangria.2019 Sparking White: dry2018 Loving Cup White: dry blend and crisp2019 Tellurian White: the description says oak aged, buttery and creamy but I only tasted a neutral flavor and none of those notes2019 Cayuga White: semi-sweet, delicate and fruity - this was my favorite and got a bottle for $262019 Dudley Nose Rose: semi-dry and fruity2019 Loving Cup Red: dry blend and silkySangria: flavors were very muddled - I think it needed to be served colderThe tasting was also served in cups and a tray made from sugarcane stalks and completely compostable. Two thumbs up for sustainability.Views were nice, super beautiful green grass and lots of outdoor seating on the patio and on the lawn. The only drawback was the staff wasn't very friendly.

Love this place so much. They are dog friendly which I loved. It's all organic wines and the compost or recycle everything they use. There was no bad wine here I ended up buying every bottle on the flight list. They offer Sangria too which was amazing. It's kinda hidden near pippin but highly recommend.

I was supposed to go to a different winery with my brother and sister but it was booked for an event. I'm so glad we ended up here at Loving Cup because it was so beautiful and the weather was delightful.Covid measures- in these melancholy days of quarantine you are required to wear a mask and they have plenty of hand sanitizer! The server wears a mask and he doesn't touch anything you touch. The tables were more than 6 feet apart as well as the areas in the grass where they have wooden lawn chairs to sit on.Definitely make reservations for a nice comfortable table. We didn't and I enjoyed sitting on the wooden chairs.I think there may be inside tables and the building was two stories. There was one server who owned the land and he was quite funny and accommodating. I think he was enjoying the customers and he was very helpful in choosing wines. We chose a crisp white wine to drink and a Rosé for my brother and sister. My brother also ordered two wines to go. We also got crackers, cheese, and salami. I am always craving juicy fruit nowadays and I wish they had a fruit tray.I forgot the name of the white wine we got but it was super tasty! The Rosé was enjoyable to my brother and sister.Great establishment!!!

Loving Cup is hard for me to judge because they serve a very niche market - all their wines are organic, meaning they don't use pesticides (or very little). The downside is this limits them to grape varietals that are already disease resistant. The upside is I appreciate how they are eco-conscious. They are also VERY family and dog friendly, and even advertise for pet adoptions. They have 4 acres of hybrid grapes, with several varietals that I don't often see (hello Marquette, Corot Noir and Cayuga). While these aren't exactly my favorite grapes, they do a good job with them. It helps the tasting room has a picturesque view of the vineyard, and they are now serving an apple wine. The most unique wine was their "Sweet Red", which was fermented in a whisky barrel. At 16% alcohol it is kinda port-style-ish, but not really. It can also be served chilled. But my favorite was the apple wine.

Loved both times I've been here! The customer service is very friendly and helpful. Recently I visited during phase 2 of Virginia's reopening. They had a throughout system for keeping customers distanced and their seating was very spaced out. They actually cut ~6ft radius was around their tables in the lawn. Reservations are $20 but go towards your purchase. Outside food is allowed and they're pet friendly!
