Long & Foster Commercial Division

If we could give less than one star, we would. The property management company here is a joke. Terry Wilson and her team are the most grammatically illiterate, unprofessional group we've ever had the displeasure of doing business with. We rented a property from them that had electrical outlets (13 to be precise) that were so loose we had to physically hold plugs in to vacuum, steam mop, etc. The Housing Authority ordered they be fixed as they were against code. It was never done. The broker in charge merely apologized and assured me it would be done. This is our 375th day here. I don't think it looks promising! Instead of fixing it, they simply opted to not renew our lease (no love lost there, but nice to know you'd rather skip out on basic housing code by getting rid of the squeaky wheel rather than comply and fix the issue). Also had carpet damage from prior tenant that was never fixed (dogs dug up the carpet, significant fraying and exposed padding). It took a year, but the flooring in the laundry room was finally replaced as it was completely rotted from water damage from who knows how long ago. Their apathetic attitude towards professionalism and minimal housing code is astounding. I recently read on my Coast Guard boards that most of my fellow military families refuse to even consider them because of the bad experience of others. We should have researched before signing, for sure. Don't rent or buy from this office.

I trusted long and foster with my rental property and I'm very disappointed that they let the tenants trash my home.The ceiling fans are destroyed and interior of the home has to be painted.smoking was prohibited in the home yet,it's quite obvious that it was smoked in regularly, the toilets,sinks and carpets are filthy and looks like they were never cleaned.the heating and air systems are still on and running,the pool cover was taken off and it will cost hundreds of dollars to get it back to normal although I paid to have the pool opened and closed each season with the proper chemicals,for just landscaping alone I was quoted 1500.00,because the property appears as if it was abandoned.Whenever I was notified that anything needed to be fixed,repaired or replaced,I made sure that it was addressed immediately. I've owned this property for quite a few years now and it saddens me to see a place in which I once called home to be run down in such a manner. I've never felt so embarrassed and violated in my life,I guess I was a fool to pay long and foster/select rentals to manage my property.

If there was a half star, I'll give it to Long & Foster Real State in Elizabeth City North Carolina. We're currently renting a house in the Summerfield Sub-Division. After a couple months the fan in the living room stopped working, it took a couple of months before somebody came and took a look, but they haven't fix it. The dryer and washing machines are so old, and the dryer stopped working. We've have been calling them but to no avail.
