I've visited the original Lolly's location many times, but this was my first trip to the Norfolk spot. While smaller inside, this location still captures the essence of Lolly's charm. The service was friendly, kind, and quick, as expected. However, there were fewer flavor options here compared to the original location, which was a bit disappointing. Getting to the shop was also tricky due to limited parking, especially on a Saturday night after an ODU football game. That said, the ice cream itself was fantastic, even with something as simple as their plain vanilla. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit for a sweet treat.

I'm glad to see an ice cream shop in this area, especially by a brewery! Like all Lolly's shop you can expect some good quality ice cream.Today's vegan ice cream option was a sorbet and coconut chip. I chose the coconut chip and it was yummy. The shaved chocolate chips throughout helped the ice cream not be so "coconutty".There's seating available and ice cream cake and pint of ice cream to go as well.

Cold, sweet treats with staple and rotating seasonal menu options. Ask for samples to find your fave. I've had the coffee, candy cane cookies n cream, and gingerbread -- all delicious. Also offer milkshakes and bottled drinks. All prices on par w other ice cream spots; I'm fine supporting a spot on Colley Ave in Norfolk (Colleywood). Merch, on street parking, and gender neutral restrooms available.

Very nice girls at the counter and explained the flavors. I got the salted pretzels based ice cream and didn't like the texture at all! The pretzels were like blended into the ice cream super fine but just made it taste like saw dust or soggy pretzels. My husband's butter finger was better tho.

Lolly's, for me, provides excellent ice cream. Their service is top shelf, too - this location is as consistent as the Lolly's at Loehmann's Plaza. My go-to flavor is their Cookie Monster, but when I came in on 11/29/23 with friends I changed it up and got their Flavor of the Month - CandyCane Cookies n Cream. It was delicious and hit the spot after dinner at Alkaline. This Lolly's location's only drawback is the lack of parking. They don't have their own parking lot - you'll have to park on the street (Colley Ave). So you may have trouble, depending on time of day, finding a spot near the building. Because of the parking, I typically opt for the Loehmann's Plaza location instead. Still, both places offer delicious, refreshing and homemade ice cream and their employees are always so nice. Thank you, Lolly's! JV

Went here right before 5pm on a Saturday, & it was empty. So take notes, since I hear it tends to be really busy at night! I was really wishing they had the ube flavor, but unfortunately they didn't have anything too special. I settled for the pina colada sherbet, & it was decent nothing mind blowing though. It was $4 for the mini, I believe $6 for a small. But I felt a mini was plenty! They have indoor seating, & a bathroom for customers as well.

The Norfolk location of Lolly's Creamery opened its doors in January of this year, directly across from Elation Brewing on North Colley Avenue.Lolly's was founded in 2017 by a father and son team, Dom and Joey Launi, when they started making ice cream together. Lolly was the name of their family dog when son Joey was growing up. They got their start by selling their ice cream from their factory hidden behind an isolated strip mall on Euclid Road in Virginia Beach, and also from a Good Humor style bicycle on the Oceanfront. This led Joey to a vision of opening an old-time homemade ice cream shop, which finally resulted in the grand opening of their first ice cream stand in the Virginia Beach ViBe District in May of 2019. Their business has since expanded to locations on Atlantic Avenue on the Boardwalk and Loehmann's Plaza, both in Virginia Beach, and to their Norfolk location on North Colley. As a nearby resident of the Ghent section of Norfolk, I never made it out to their Virginia Beach locations. Once I heard of their plans to expand to Norfolk, I eagerly waited for their opening. Parking for their Norfolk location is pretty much limited to on-street parking on North Colley and an occasional space on a nearby side street when one opens up. I am usually able to find a spot two or three blocks away on North Colley.Their ice cream flavors include a mix of their Classic flavors that are always available and a series of rotating flavors that are featured weekly or monthly on their Facebook and Instagram pages.Their ice cream is available in homemade waffle cones, shakes, and in cup sizes ranging from the Kids Mini to their Pints and Quarts. In addition, Sundaes, Banana Splits, and Root Beer Floats are also available. I have tried the following flavors so far this year, choosing the Kids Mini sized cup each time. Each one was served with a generous heaping scoop. MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP: This is one of their Classic permanent flavors. Their version is made with Creme de Menthe and Dark Chocolate Flakes, setting it over the top with a flavor explosion of of incredible depth. Their Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream is the most satisfying of any other version I have tried in the area by far. My Rating: 5-Plus Stars.MERMAID: Served as one of their rotating flavors earlier this year, this was a Teal Cotton Candy flavored ice cream with a Marshmallow Swirl, topped with their Mermaid shaped Sprinkles. It was very colorful and tasty, but just a bit too candy like for my tastes. My Rating: 4 Stars.BLUEBERRY LEMON BAR: Another rotating flavor, this one was a Sweet Cream based ice cream with Lemon Bar chunks and a Blueberry Swirl. Their website mentions the use of Wild Maine Blueberries and house made Meyer Lemon Bars. This one was tasty enough while I was eating it, but it socked me with too much of an overpowering sweet aftertaste afterwards. My Rating: 3.5 Stars.BUTTER PECAN: This was yet another rotating flavor, one that I tried in August. Their version struck me as a bit lackluster, as I was craving a nuttier texture with a greater depth of flavor. The serving size was huge and nearly swallowed my Mini Cup whole. My Rating: 3 Stars.UBE: This is one of my favorite flavors and a fall rotating selection recently tried this month. According to their social media pages: "This year's Ube flavor features an Ube Ice Cream Base with Ube Butter Cake and Homemade Coconut Caramel." The Ube Butter Cake and Homemade Coconut Caramel, which were beautifully depicted in their social media photos, were missing in action from my cup when I ordered it. Actually, I didn't really miss them, as I have always enjoyed Ube ice cream as a stand alone flavor without any frills. Their Ube ice cream came through nicely as is with a solid taste and texture. My Rating: 4.5 Stars.I also tried the following: ROOT BEER FLOAT: Their version did not nearly deliver the visual appeal of the one served at the famous ice cream spot on Monticello Avenue. It was not served in a real glass, and there was no whipped cream and cherry on top.Served in a plastic cup with two thick scoops of their Vanilla Ice Cream, which is one of their Classic flavors, and a bottle of Boylan's Root Beer, the flavor combination was divine. Their Vanilla Ice Cream was incredibly rich and flavorful. I might add that their Vanilla Ice Cream won a Virginian-Pilot taste test back in 2019. I also loved being able to add additional root beer from the bottle into my cup as needed. My Rating: 5 Stars. If I can offer one suggestion for their business, it would be to add the Lolly's logo to their ice cream cups in their stores, just as they are shown on their social media pages, for better branding exposure. In spite of a couple of misses, I still came up with a solid 4-star composite rating. I will be stopping in from time to time, especially when I am craving some of their Mint Chip Ice Cream and also when I feel like trying something new.

We visited a couple friends in Virginia Beach and I am SO happy they brought us to Lolly's. They are big fans themselves so they definitely hyped it up a lot.... It surpassed my expectations! Lolly's is a super cute ice cream window with some tables and umbrellas set up for enjoying your ice cream in the sun. I loved the old-timey beach feel it has. All of the flavors sounded good so it took me a while to decide. Ultimately I went with a scoop of coffee and a scoop of peanut butter jelly. The coffee was good. Not my favorite, but still creamy and delicious. But the peanut butter jelly... damn! If only I could recreate those chewy peanut butter chunks at home. I am so sad I don't live in VA. But maybe it's for the best because I would be getting wayyyy too much ice cream if I did!!! We all were so excited about our treats that I forgot to take photos.

Some of the best ice cream I've had! The coffee flavor was the perfect balance and the warm brownie sundae hit the spot for me. The staff was kind and helpful, and our service was gave. The indoor space was cute and clean. It seemed like a perfect spot for a hang out or celebration.

Oh em geee!!! I forgot how much I love Lollys! I've tried the one out in VB but it was years ago. We just moved out to Norfolk and I was craving ice cream so with a quick google I saw how close Lollys was to us. The store was adorably set up, a little on the smaller side but I think that's what makes it cozy and cute! I instantly saw their super cute merch and bought myself a sweatshirt because I couldn't resist!! Comfort Colors apparel is the way to my heart. I knew I was going in for a pint of cookie monster because it's my boyfriend's favorite. The pints had the cutest artwork ever on them!! I had to ask the workers who made them and to my surprise it was the girl ringing me up!! Lauren was so kind and just all around adorable! I'm glad I could fulfill your summer goal of mentioning your amazing artwork!! You are very talented!! Last but not least the bomb pop flavor for the fourth of July is bomb.com (pun fully intended!!) I wish it was an all summer long thing!! Lollys is a gold mine of awesome customer service and amazing ice cream! Check them out!!
