For hotel food, this place was amazing. I hosted a business lunch here and was impressed with the sandwhich selection. I had a chicken panini, which I would get again with my own money. I judge places on my desire to spend my own money and I would come back and eat here again.

3.5 stars for Lodge Restaurant, the restaurant at Williamsburg Lodge. It's actually 3.5 stars for the Friday seafood buffet dinner. It was good. It wasn't the best, or most inventive, seafood I've had. Considering this is Williamsburg (a destination not known for its marine cuisine), the Lodge Restaurant does a pretty nice job. It's pricey, however. I believe it was around $35 per person -- add in the requisite alcoholic libations, and you're dropping a pretty penny in this joint. The food abooooounds here, which is nice. There's a huge variety of hot and cold items to choose from. There are nicely prepared salads, and a decent crab bisque to start you off. There are king crab legs, peel-and-eat shrimp, and oysters on ice. There's lemon tilapia, dill salmon, mussels, and fried cod in the warmers. I thought the crab legs were really good, and the peel-and-eat shrimp were lovely: firm, and plump, and juicy.Aside from the seafood, there's a selection of fruits and cheeses, salads, side vegetables, a bread station, and a smorgasboard of tempting desserts. There's also a sushi station staffed by sushi chefs, but I found the sushi pretty typical and uncreative, and the rice was hard-ish like the sushi you get out the refrigerated section in Giant. Not to mention the wasabi was graying, which is never appealing. The ambiance at the Lodge Restaurant is a bit formal and classy -- still, this is a resort town, so you don't need your finery. They say the dress is casual, but I definitely wouldn't want to show up in my Disneyworld tee and torn jeans...lord knows some fools certainly do, tho. The dining room is nice, quiet, and upscale. The service is professional, if cold. I found our "server" (cuz on buffet night he didn't have to do much but uncork our wine and keep it coming) a bit aloof, but maybe they're trained that way to be in-keeping with the more formal atmosphere. Still, it probably wouldn't have killed him instantly to smile or exude some warmth.All-in-all it was a pleasant experience. I wouldn't be adverse to coming back for the buffet, or maybe stopping by for brunch.

We have been going there regularly on Thursday evenings to enjoy the band. I have to say. The one thing that you can count on is horrible service. They are terribly understaffed. No busboys to clear the tables - wait staff does it themselves. Takes well over 1/2 hour to receive your food order which may or may not be what you ordered. The food is ok at best. If you are going to dine in Williamsburg, there are plenty of much better options!

An upscale family oriented restaurant with an awesome menu. The service is attentive and at a pace that makes for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. My wife and I have eaten there many, many times and can honestly say that we have never been disapointed. Try the Shrimp and Grits starter, it's almost enough for your entre. If meat is to your choosing both the pork porterhouse and beef tenderloin are great choices. Vegitarian? They have a good selection of options to fit your taste. And there is a good selection of wines from which you can choose. This is not cheap by any means, but well worth the money. Enjoy!

Our experience with the Friday seafood buffet was great. The seafood was fresh and plentiful, service very attentive. They made up fried oysters to order for my wife!

In addition to an adorable location, the Lodge Restaurant had a diverse and delicious menu. I was at first disappointed when they did not have any strawberry smoothies, but things changed when they brought me an equally excellent Berry Berry smoothie. The food came quickly and was hot and steaming when it arrived. The service here is excellent, and it is a nice place to eat after a long campus tour!

Went for lunch buffet - 4 adults, one young child. Initially service was a little on the slower side. Child was getting restless. A few brief words and they came with crayons. We all ordered lunch buffet which helped keep things moving. There were multiple salads on the buffet - good, nothing particularly memorable. Tomato bisque was not so great. Crab cake sandwiches were very much enjoyed - stand out of the meal. Creamy pasta was also quite good. There was a nice selection of fruit and a very large assortment of deserts - chocolate cake, bread pudding, cones filled with cream, fruit tarts. yum, yum! Buffet came with a drink too. Service was very child friendly. All in all, good food, good price.
