Upon entry, the front staff were a little dry in their greeting. They didn't seem to be too friendly. It wasn't busy at all and we were seated immediately. Our server took our drink orders but it took a lot longer than expected to receive them. The different flavored mimosas were yummy. The nautical theme is apparent and the tribute to Liam and Dean adds a heartwarming touch to the experience. Once our food came, we made space for the large plates; you get a lot of food. It was delicious! We would come back for another brunch day.

If I could give no stars I would. Unfortunately I just can't give this place a good review. My family and I went twice to try to give it a chance two years ago. It was meh at best...saved only by excellent service. Fast forward to today we had a going away brunch get together. We had a reservation for up to 20 people. When we arrived they had enough space for 10 people but would "add tables " as more arrived. 7 more people arrived and when we tried to move tables to our group we were told that it wasn't possible for safety reasons. So now the group is having to sit separately making it an awkward situation. After our orders were taken we had plenty of time to chat as the food trickled to the table. The server unfortunately miss served meals so some people did not eat. When silverware was requested the request was acknowledged and then nothing was brought to us. Once my food arrived I ate a meh BLT and cold potatoes....until I found a hair in my sandwich and promptly gave up. We asked for the checks and I was billed $14.78. This included a 20% gratuity ( i have no problem with this as we were a big group). I gave the server a $20 bill and received $5.00 in change. Now, was I going to give her the additional 22 cents? yes I was, but I fully expected to get the $5.22 in change and leave that 22 cents plus more for dealing with us. The server should not have assumed the extra cash was hers. I do not recommend. What I do recommend: First Watch in Harbor View (5 minutes away) or Newport News (30 minutes ) is better. If you want truly excellent food go to Rustic Spoon (45 minutes away) or Bee and Biscuit ( 60 minutes..go early or prepare to wait).

Owner charged waitress for mistake/ attempted to guilt trip me beware:Today I ordered two meals with a coworker and was quoted 15 mins for pickup. I arrived after 20 mins to give a buffer as it seemed fast. Upon arrival they asked if my order was a door dash or call in and took a few minutes to determine the source, once located they prompted me to pay. I asked "is it almost ready?" "Yes we are bagging it up." Then I swiped my card. I then waited 15 mins with no update. I asked a staff member what was up and she checked- she said they were working on it. I was confused as they were bagging it. It wasn't until I asked again that they told me they were not bagging it and were actually out of sides. This was about 20 mins into waiting in the restaurant (40 mins into ordering) I told them I wouldn't have waited there, or paid had I known as I have to get back to work. They offered a 15% discount. I stated this was not sufficient. After 50 mins past time of order my food came out and I was fully discounted per my request. The owner/chef then called me over as I was walking out. He stated that the waitress had to pay for my food. I asked if he was trying to guilt trip me? He said That she didn't put the order in on time (forgot to click submit) and that was the issue (I said why wasn't this communicated to me so I could decide what to do with my time) and he said that the bagging mix up was her communication error - again , could have been cleared up. He told me the reason for talking to me was to give me a good picture, to keep business and so I don't write this review. Honestly, that talk left a worse taste in my mouth- I do hope that waitress is paid for her day fully and the owner works on better management structures and communication. He took no accountability himself, but blamed his staff, equipment, and tried to get me to even question my arrival time and such.

Diner atmosphere. Called ahead 2 hours for a party of 10, they were very accommodating and we got seated immediately. Service was good, food was amazing. We had the blt, omelettes, biscuits and gravy and country fried steak-all were amazing! I had the cinch to drink and it was great! Would definitely go back!

I have given this company many opportunities to resolve any issues before writing this by continuing to eat here. The food seems to be overcooked specifically the omelets. They also do not pay attention to the food request when taking out an order. The service is mediocre on a consistent basis while the ambiance is pretty cool especially after understanding company's purpose. If you do not care about loosing the money or the taste do the food, then this is the place to go for convenience. Ohhhh just a FYI....the French toast and potato's are consistently good but may be a little hard at times.

The restaurant space is inviting, spacious, clean and comfortably minimal. Our server was patient, attentive and very welcoming. Service was slow and she acknowledged there were only two servers this morning. We ordered several items including :Fresh Fried green tomatoes with a bright basaltic glaze and a sauce that tasted more like a tartar sauce. Pecan pancakes were light and fluffy,Hash browns were seasoned, crispy home fried potato squares.Fried shrimp and grits "pearls" were deep fried "balls" appetizer. - not quite what we expected. Wanted more of a traditional dish but tasted okay.Eggs, bacon and sausage were average.Spirit of the fruit drink was $5 a glass w no refills fell short. More like fruit flavored water.Over all the food did not thrill us but was not horrible- just expected great food from the other Yelp photos. Some portion sizes seemed average but my egg and grits meal called " the basic breakfast" was basic with a small ramekin of grits and a little bit of eggs was not much in size or flavor.

Fairly new restaurant very close to home! It's clean and has a beach theme, with a diner feel. Tables are nicely spaced apart so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of each other. I went on a Saturday morning and walked right in and sat down. Absolutely no wait It's in a shopping center so the parking is great! We received great service. The wait staff asked if we had been there before and because we hadn't, explained the menu. You definitely have to read the descriptions because the names of the dishes do not say what they are. We had The Mast which can be done different ways. I had the bowl with potatoes and mother in law had as omelet with grits. We both ate everything! Only thing is that it could have been seasoned. I also had a pancake and it was DELICIOUS! I ordered one pancake and it was the size of the plate...big! They also have alcoholic beverages there. I saw Bloody Mary's and mimosas on the drink menu for breakfast. They also have lunch/dinner food and drinks. I will definitely return. I'm certain I'll get a pancake but excited to try something else also.

My sisters and I went on a Saturday around 10:30am. We were seated right away. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. Our server was CeCe (sp) she was wonderful! My one sister said the eggs were cooked to perfection, the other had the French toast and stated it was the best ever, and I had the best pancakes! Our food was served quickly, hot, delicious, and our order was correct! We live in VB, but said we would definitely drive back to Suffolk for Liam's Deaner. Also, please read the history behind the name.

Love the food and service at Liam's. My recommendation would be to not pass up on ordering the French Toast. Best I have ever had anywhere. The edges are crispy and the center fluffy. My mouth is watering just thinking bout them.

My experience at Liam's Deaner Brunch Bistro was rather average. The green fried tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinegar were decent, but nothing exceptional. The hash browns, although they resembled home fried potatoes, lacked the desired crispness. The veggie omelet was underwhelming, lacking in flavor and creativity. The pecan pancakes were alright, but didn't leave a lasting impression. The cheese and eggs with grits were satisfactory, but nothing special. The combination of bacon and fried shrimp with grit pearls was not what I expected and didn't quite hit the mark.On a positive note, the restaurant appeared clean and the servers were friendly, despite there being only two of them. However, it seemed that the kitchen was either backed up or understaffed, as there was a noticeable delay in receiving our food.Overall, the breakfast food at Liam's Deaner Brunch Bistro was average and nothing to write home about. I would only recommend this place if you have time kill and are not that hungry.
