I've been here as a guest to an event and it was a beautiful facility with a spectacular view of the bay. The food was very good but nothing over the top. That's may be just because the professional event I attended had a limited budget. The facility is really what shined. The back of the building is all windows that face the bay. You can see a gorgeous sunset from that direction. There was a large pre-function space back there where several bars were set up. Then there was a larger room connected to that area that was set up with the dining tables. I was there for a professional event, but if it were a wedding there would be room for a dance floor. This would be a really sweet venue for a wedding or special event.

I could have not imagined a more beautiful setting for my Sister's wedding. The food was excellent and the staff was very accommodating (except for one minor lady who barged in on the bridal suite while my Sis was getting into her dress and announced that we weren't supposed to be there). But even that didn't ruin our day. I would highly recommend this venue if you are getting married in Virginia Beach. Very romantic, upscale and the sunset over the bay was breathtaking. The day was beautiful!

This venue is gorgeous, with an amazing view. I love the completely neutral décor/color scheme! The biggest downside to this venue, and what ultimately made my decision to opt out, was the price to time ratio. For a Saturday evening OFF PEAK, the price is $8400 for just THREE HOURS. Yes you could pay extra for more hours, but with an additional charge of $3.00, per person, per hour, it just seemed to make more sense to look elsewhere. Like I said, it's a gorgeous venue, but I just couldn't do a 3 hour party for 150 guests who were traveling 6 hours to get here.

I had a great experience with the Lesner, everything was professional and they were very easy to communicate with leading up to the big day. I originally chose this venue because they were one of the few places that offered brunch wedding packages (I really wanted to be a morning bride). The ceremony and reception were beautiful and I got compliments on the brunch offerings. I know this isn't the cheapest venue in the Hampton Roads area but I think the value was great for the smoothness of the planning and the amazing views the venue offers.

Beautiful location. Deck is fantastic. Apps were cold. Chicken skewers were very good and the highlight. Mains were awful. Prime rib was cooked well, yet the meat was a ghostly grey color. Salmon was edible, but i guess they ran out of capers and used petit peas in the sauce. One star for resoursefulness by the kitchen crew. Servers were good folk, even after a ridiculously long day.

3.5 stars out of 5.Positives,Our Lesner Inn representative, Noel, was extremely helpful and professional. Great to work with, flexible, and had a genuine concern that our day went the way we wanted it. The venue is very nice and the decorations make for great evening ambiance. It was just what we wanted. Noel was able to coordinate additional decorations from a previous event without charging us which we really enjoyed. The outside deck gives good views of Lynnhaven inlet as well. Service during our event was great, not intrusive and professional. Starting out with 5 stars because of Noel and her staff.Negatives,Food quality is about a 3 out of 5 stars and not representative of the price you are paying. Most items were clearly pre-made food service items that were re-heated or deep fried. Chicken was a little dry, sauce was pre-packaged, shrimp were fried or baked from frozen with sriracha sauce drizzled over them and labeled bang bang shrimp, apps were pre-made food service company items. We were disappointed in the food at the tasting, commented that we wanted the kitchen to step it up, but ended up with the same crap food for the event. Minus 1 star. They charge a service fee to pay with credit card here. I don't appreciate a business passing on the fee that a credit card company charges them so that they can offer that payment method to their customers. It's a slimy business tactic. If you're going to nickle and dime me for your costs, just build it in to your prices and then offer a cash discount. Minus .5 stars. Overall, we really enjoyed our event and our service was great, but the food is cafeteria quality at best. Fortunately, most people were distracted enough by the event to not care, but we definitely noticed.

Recently hosted an evening event for a group of senior military officers. The staff are exceptional, with professional event planning support, and remarkable catering services. The facilities are elegant, with spectacular views of the Lynnhaven River. Alexis guided me through the process, and more than delivered on every commitment. Noel led the catering team the night of our engagement, and everyone in attendance enjoyed a fabulous meal and a memorable evening. This is the fifth event I've enjoyed at Lesner Inn, the first I've hosted, and I cannot recommend it highly enough!

We planned a surprise party here for an executive at CV International. We could NOT have been successful without the help of Lindsey Basnight and the team at the Lesner Inn. Lindsey was not even working the event and still handled every detail with ease and grace. The venue was very accommodating and the Waterside Deck was exactly what we needed for our party. We continue receiving compliments about how perfect the party was. THANK YOU!Oh and yes, the food was delicious!!!

Most of these other previous reviews have only been guests. When you're actually the one renting this place, it's a different story.Like the previous review from Katie, my experience at the lesner inn wasn't the most pleasant. But I have to admit, the day of the wedding was better than planning experiences. First let me say The girl who was working the day of was Meredith. She was wonderful. Lauren one of the event managers was also pleasant and professional. And the wait staff for the day of the wedding was incredibly nice. The chef was ver nice and accommodating. Now let me get to the nitty gritty. I'm basing this 1 star review solely on one woman. Yes it may be wrong, but one bad apple ruins a bunch and I HOPE the owners of the Lesner Inn realize this woman should not be in a profession that works with people. Her name is Nancy. Shes an older white woman. She is incredibly rude on the phone. I seriously pray she doesn't pick up everytime I call. And yes I call often because I'm pretty amateur when it comes to weddings and I didn't have a planner because of budget. She knows barely anything about the venue, everytime I call she puts on a friendly tone of voice until I tell her I have questions because I'm getting married there. Not only does she rush me off the phone and make me feel like I'm dumb for asking questions, but she RARELY ever knows the answers to any questions. Now here's where she really really sucks. The day of the rehearsal she comes up to me and my family and friends and rudely says you need to be out of here by 5:30. I reasoned with her that the other girl there had said I can be there till 6( 30 mins does make s difference when you're trying to decorate). She kept arguing with me and didn't even have the professionalism to politely say , "let me speak with my co worker really quick." instead she walks off. Seriously?? I paid a lot of money for this overpriced venue and I should have gotten better service from this woman. I always believe in change, buy I do not believe this woman Nancy doesn't belong in customer service until she does a complete change in her mannerism. Other than that, I will say that the view was gorgeous. The food was good but not memorable. The chairs definitely felt like they've been used many times over because they were wobly. They don't have an elevator which sucks if you have older people or disabled people in your lives. The bathroom up top is a super suck because there's only one toilet in the ladies room. So ladies and gents, before you sign your precious hard earned money away to the lesner inn, please please ask lots of questions, read your contracts and do not pick this place just for the view. I have to admit, I fell in love with it. And by all means, if you run into Nancy please request to work with another event manager.
