Clean and plenty of shading and has some obstacles for the dogs to play on. This will be the new park I take my pup to.

We love this dog park! Taking our new pup, I was a bit nervous at first that the park would either be completely empty or the dogs there would be aggressive, but neither were true. We've been three times now and each time the park has been full of other pups to play with (between 1pm and 4pm) and friendly humans. They provide water, toys, and doggy bags and everyone cleans up after their dogs. There are also plenty of places to sit and lots of yard to play in!

My grand dog loves this park ! She runs faster than all the other dogs there but she's tired afterwards and she's a high energy dog! It's clean and well maintained!

I don't have much to say! It was a lovely, spacious park! There were a ton of dogs, but this park felt different-like a community. Everyone was taking care of each other's dogs. My bag had fell on the floor and spilled when I was playing, and people picker all my items up. Many seemed to frequent the park and know each other. Probably will be the new standard dog park I go to!

Be careful about irresponsible owners who brings a toy that their dog is toy aggressive over. I had to take my terrier to the vet to get 19 staples and 3 stitches on his left hind side.Make sure your dog is on GREAT flea preventatives, you don't want to battle them. Also be forever watchful as people tend to try to socialize/rehabilitate dogs, you're dog is fine unless he/she is like my German pointer mix who's very vocal when wanting to get others to play and while playing. But aside from those this is a pretty good place to sit back relax with fellow dog lovers and let your furbabies run around to their hearts content. There's poop bags, tennis balls, the stick thing in case you don't want to touch said tennis balls, there's a bulletin board with info on events, dog services of all kinds, etc. there's two water bowls and a water pump, but if your dog is a anything like my boy you might want to bring your own bowl he won't drink from it. Maybe because of all the different smells so he doesn't see it as his water bowl? It's completely fenced off from the water, two gates to help ensure your furbaby doesn't escape.

While staying in the Norfolk area for the weekend I decided to look up a few dog parks being as thought I was traveling with my dog (obviously). Lafayette was the BEST dog park I've been to! Living in Philadelphia, we have a lot of places to take our dogs but this one set the standards! The people here really police their dogs. Obviously you'll always have that one aggressive dog with an owner that just doesn't "get it" but aside from that one person/dog, my experience was great. Not that I plan to but if I were to move in the Hampton Roads area I'd truly consider Lafayette. Great neighborhood and a great dog park. Bella misses it already!O and if you have kids, there was an actual park right next to the dog park.

I'm just going to write this as dictated to me by my dog****whine whine* Where are we going? That's the turn for our park. Why aren't we going to the park? You said dog park! Park! Park!Wait. What's that? Where are we? Park? Park? PARK!!!Toys toys dogs PARK! PARRRRK!Run toys MY FAVORITE THING!Dogs play MY FAVORITE THING!Park park park!***I think he was a fan. There's a few obstacle course items which he ignored, and a few Chuck-Its with squeaky tennis balls he happily fetched. He played for nearly TWO HOURS and still didn't want to leave. It's a little further from our house than several other parks, but I think this one will be part of our regular rotation. It's a lovely little place. Thank you Lafayette-Winona Civic League for supporting such a great place for the pups to play!

I have been coming here for around 7 years. Park is well maintained although previous table and benches were safer . Owners should be attentive to overly aggressive dogs that run and jump franticly while they are on cell phones . This happens not infrequently, and can be avoided paying attention and not saying, they are just playing ... Dominant behavior is not acceptable. Please be aware as there are small dogs, older people, babies, etc. Essentially, they usually get along, so come enjoy and watch and play with your dog.
