Went in late and they still took as in. The place is long In depth. Well placed sitting area, clean and airy. We were served by Tony. Very easy, able to assist us in ordering what we like. There were 7 of us but we were comfortable as there were only a few people then. So we can hear each other well. Tony was quick to give us great chips with dips while waiting. The orders came in fast. The food is Muy bueno. Presentation is good and the taste is well balanced. We enjoyed each of our orders. The salad was fresh, meat tender. We really enjoyed our experience.

This was such a disappointment. Paid over $40 for 2 burritos to go and one was extremely small. Not sure why one got a completely different tortilla and portion size when they were comparable price and from the same section of the menu. Not only size, the rice was cold and the chicken inside was so tough. We will not be bringing our business back here.

For what it is just off the campus of ODU it's passable. I mean they have been in business over 10 years and got through a pandemic. So they must be doing something right I say. The business was dead! This was probably my 3rd visit. Lunch for two burrito specials were tasty, but tiny. Chips good, but stingy on sauces. Prices high for Mexican, but fair these days. Service was prompt, however follow up slow on refills and check. 2.5 rounding up to 3 for this Monarch haunt.

I order the same thing every time (vegan taquitos) and the food is always 100% consistent. That's so hard to find. Service is always great, too. Parking is usually easy, and it's in a pleasant area. Monarch village has a relaxing ambiance, conveniently located near a lot of stuff.

the food here was pretty mediocre & the service was horrible the manager told the waiter to make us pay before we even got our food mind you we are 3 black woman & they had asked nobody else in the restaurant to do that so it made the whole experience at the restaurant uncomfortable.

We've been twice and weren't impressed either time. The food was fine, not spectacular. The carne asada was dry and we've had better. The margaritas seemed to come from a mix rather than being from scratch, and the classic Margarita tastes closer to a lemonade. The place also wasn't super busy which was surprising for a Friday night. We also felt the prices were high. My husband and I have never paid so much for Mexican food and we didn't order anything different from what we normally order at a Mexican restaurant, which was surprising with it being at ODU. However, the service is great and the wait staff is super friendly. Just wish we got a more than mediocre food and drinks for the price.

Came in after an ODU basketball game with my three minions. Fresh chips, salsa AND the Hampton Roads white dip ( don't ask what's in it just enjoy!) came out right away. Fresh all around!Littlest minion had the soft taco kids plate and fully approved of taco,Brice and beans. Middle minion opted for a cheeseburger and fries, also rave reviews. Oldest and I split the Texas Nachos and barely finished them! They had shrimp, chicken AND steak plus a healthy serving of guac and sour cream!Good spot to grab a bite of you're over by ODU for sure! Oh and worth mentioning we all ate our full for about $40! I spend almost that much at McD's these days!

La Herradura is a decent Mexican resto close to ODU. Always good value for money especially when you order their daily specials. Giving it 4 stars because you don't really rave about their food, but a good alternative around ODU restos most of the time.

The food and drink were delicious. I got the chicken fajitas and it was sizzling hot . The service was okay. I was a part of a large party and they didn't want to give us enough chips/salsa for the table. I would come back to sit at bar or for take out.
