Estoy bien Feliz !!!Estava buscando tienditas Mexicanas para comprar pan de muerto. So happy with this shop ! They have a diverse menu, from bakery and coffee to pupusas, breakfast burritos and more! Another thing I noticed was that they have warm rotisserie chicken which is awesome ! I am so in love with this spot it makes me miss home even more. The ladies who worked the front were very welcoming and sweet they even offered menus for us to take home to see what other items they have. S/O to Nicole H. for putting Pope's Panaderia y Pasteleria (PPYP) on my radar! I recently saw her FTR on PPYP and discovered it was near Nice Thai, one of my fave Thai restaurants!I went to Nice Thai for lunch last week, so I planned to drop by PPYP after my meal.- Parking - Center lot. It is located in the old K-mart lot, at the end, by the street. - Vibes - When you walk in, PPYP is quite spacious! It's painted in bright colors and they even have a colorful flag banner on the ceilings. To the right is a service counter with a cookie showcase and a refrigerated showcase carrying things like tres leches cake and other goodies that need refrigeration,To the left, against the front window, you will have a few showcases of all the Mexican baked goods like conchas, bread puddings, buns etc. There are tables for you to sit and there is even a fake plant wall and a neon sign for great photo opps!- Noms - Champurrado - I got this hot and it's some kind of hot chocolate made with milk and maybe cinnamon? It's not as chocolatey as one might think (see pic), but I really enjoyed it as it was chilly that day.Cookies - I couldn't resist getting the cookies in the front, by the cash. They were 3 for $1. I chose a variety, including some with sprinkles for my kids.Tres leches cake - the cake was in a cup, layered with cake and cream, topped with more cream and a chocolate shaving. I prefer the cake part of my tres leches to be completely saturated in the leche mixture. I've had better tres leches in other spots so I'll have to pass on this next time. Assortment of baked goods - I got a concha, a bread in the shape of a croissant (but not the texture), bread pudding and what seemed like a corn bread. Everything was fresh!Everything was fresh. They have trays and tongs to place your items and then you bring it to the cash to pay. The lady helping my friend and I was really nice, but didn't seem to speak English very well, so it was fun to brush up on my Spanish! Can't wait to go back and try other items! Note to self: They seem to have lunch items too, go back for a proper lunch.Stay safe, Friends!

Pope's Panaderia y Pasteleria caught my eye as I was driving down South Military Highway. It is near Nice Thai on the side next to the old KMART. I turned into the street and easily found parking. I was greeted by the friendly smiles of the enthusiastic staff! I bought conchas, sweet breads, butter cookies, pastries filled with jam, and sprinkle cookies. The place inside is huge with tables and booths towards the back area. The place was clean and organized. I got to chat with the bakery staff and they shared that the business is brand new, in the mornings they serve breakfast like tortas and they will soon have tamales. Also that the baker is from Mexico and has lots of experience. I enjoyed my time at this bakery and look forward to going back to taste the coffee and some more cookies and pastries.

The 3 leches cake taste really bad. We do not recommend it. The cookies are overpriced and taste old.

This panaderia has only been open a few weeks. It's very clean inside. Plenty of parking. I brought a bunch of baked goods home. If you're not familiar with Mexican sweet bread, it's best with a cup of coffee or even a cup of atole or hot chocolate. I like my bread warm, so I put in on reheat for a couple min in the air fryer. Not long at all. The churros had cajeta/manjar/caramel whatever you call it. They were perfect. While there we sat and enjoyed a torta and tamal. It took a min for the food to come out but that just tells me it's fresh. And I'm fairly certain they made their own bread for the torta since they sell it there. I will go back. The girl at the register is the daughter of the owners and she was lovely.

First of all we stopped in to ask about tamales after reading the reviews. The lady that worked there told me in Spanish that she had two different kinds, she knew I was struggling with what she was saying, and I was trying to translate to my boyfriend only to find out she spoke perfect English, but refused to clarify. Either way because since we love tamales we decided to buy two of each kind she had. So glad we didn't buy any more because all four of them went in the trash. They were mostly dry. However, there was some slimy thing in the middle of a couple of them. I'm not sure if it was cheese, but it had the texture of tofu but it was disgusting. We paid $10 for dough (masa) and some corn husks. I was going to give them some credit for the bakery side however, after tasting the tamales, I'm realizing I should've left because we did questioned one of the bakery items and asked her if that was mold on it and she basically said that was a green sprinkle. Since some of the other items had sprinkles on them, I thought this could be the case but now I'm wondering if it was moldy bread. I don't get the five stars here but then again there's only six reviews. The only thing I can guess is they have at least six friends.

It's so dry....I'm not sure how to explain it but it fell short of my expectation. Maybe the entrees are better but the concha and other pastries were flat. It may not be good for me but someone else may like it.
