I love kyung sung and have been going for years. My comfort food restaurant. The staff is wonderful and the owner is so personable. The environment is very relaxed and cozy feeling.

Ok so I'm used to fresh and warm korean food, but this was NOT it. It's deceiving because it has good reviews, but as soon as the food came out (we ordered bulgogi, dumplings and sides), I knew this food was premade from a while back just by looking at it...Me, my husband and toddler all got an upset stomach afterwards and it proved to me what I suspected about the food. I really wanted to like it, but it's a never again for me.Only good thing was the service, they're nice people.

Food: Overall excellent! Our group of four tried the Japchae, the cook-yourself bulgogi, the galbi ribs, all the accompanying sides and everything was delicious. We also did get the mandu and got it fried thinking it would be pan fried not deep fried. Would next time ask for that pan fried! Service: The service was excellent! Our waitress that evening was great and checked on us often and made sure we had all we needed and liked everything. She was also fun! Ambiance: It's nice and clean insides There is one larger room with longer tables and chairs for larger groups and a smaller dining area with tables and booth seating as well.

Always delicious served here. On a rainy gloomy day like this I ordered beef fish cake dumpling soup. It is served with rice and the Korean vegetables. Service was good.

It was very unexpected. At first I had really bad vibes, thought the place was kind of sketchy. then we ordered, and saw the place filled up in a blink of an eye. They aren't the most affordable, but probably the best Korean in the area. Maybe even in the whole 757 area code. Hope they stay this good. Some places get recognition and turn into another dive..

It has been a while since Sophia and I had Korean food. The last time was back in 2021 but the result wasn't the best so we chickened out on going to another place. This time, it was in our backyard of Newport News. So we joined up with some friends for dinner. Would this visit get us back into the groove? We placed a reservation for our party which came in handy. The spot itselt is fairly small with regular tables and a separate section with BBQ tables if you want grilled meals. After getting seated, we were all ready to order. I chose beef bulgolgi w/fried rice and mandu. And they also had Korean side dishes (kimchi, bean sprouts, radish, caramelized potatoes and cucumbers) for sharing. All of this was deeelicious!! The beef was thin and plenty. Full of flavor and melt in your mouth. The fried rice and mandu came in handy too. You can definitely skip appetizers here. And the side dishes were taken by everybody (Sophia's not into kimchi and such so she passed). This right here truly hit the spot for everybody. Great food, great service, great company. You know we'll be back here. Till next time :)

The food was so good and I had ordered the beef bulgogi without checking to see what the most popular dishes were as I had been burned in the past. The beef was so tender and I had gotten fried rice which was just gently fried so it was not greasy. My dish came with three mandus as well which were meat(beef) filled. I had to make a sauce, however I'm pathetic at it. I tried to create one using gluten free soy sauce, their white vinegar, and their red paste btw it was not chili paste. It came out so pitiful. So basically I had plain Mandus but still enjoyed them. Oh my goodness the side kimchis were so delicious: std cabbage, radish, bean sprouts, fried potatoes coated in honey, cucumbers, another one that I couldn't identify but was crunchy and yummy. My friend could name it but her mouth was full when she said it and pretty much remained full! The area was clean and we were the only ones eating in but people came in to pick up orders. Our server Sarah was very caring and checked on us regularly. We talked with the owner, Grace, afterwards to say how pleased we were with her restaurant and she appreciated it. Like I stated she keeps a very clean restaurant and she is honest about how she brews her tea as I know about teas. My friend had inquired about her green tea.

Service was pretty good. They had shorts that said there is only three of them and they actually checked up on us several times.Food was on point and came out from Virginia Beach for the soup. Looks like they moved tables around and the place seemed pretty much the same. They updated the menu and it's no longer a book, yet it still works. Definitely coming back as it's our usual when we have a craving.

This is one of my favorite places to go for korean food! Coming from an area and lifestyle of always having korean food, Chung Oak brings back nostalgia of going out to dinner with my family. They even have old korean music playing. I absolutely love it! The service is amazing as the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming! I always come here whenever I miss home and don't feel like cooking on my own. It's a very good atmosphere and feels homey. Pricing is pretty fair but I was shocked to hear that I had to pay for a plate of side dishes when I asked for kimchi. My favorite dish here is their dolsot bibimbap! Their food is really good and definitely worth their prices.
