The sushi was fine but mostly basic rolls. The ambiance was rustic, a large dining space with old booths and wooden dividers for privacy. I probably won't go back because the service was so odd. My party of 2 decided to order a second round of sushi and our server was so confused and visibly annoyed with us.

First time eating here. I got Unaju Don for takeout (grilled eel in sauce over rice with avocado). I was impressed with the fancy presentation of the food especially since it was takeout. I've ordered Unaju Don at several other places and it's generally a pretty expensive dish, but here they give you more eel for your money than most others do I'd say, and the quality was just as good as anywhere else I've had it (honestly it's tasted about the same everywhere I've had it, so I've never had poor quality Uanju Don before). It also came with a small ginger-dressing salad and miso soup (both good), which is pretty standard for that dish basically everywhere it's served. I do wish it came with wasabi and pickled ginger on the side though. Everywhere else that I've ordered it before includes that, and it just makes the flavor so much better, but it was still good without it, just would've been better with it. Overall this was one of the better experiences I've had with this dish because of the lower price and the generous amount of eel that it came with. This is my only time ordering from here thus far so I can't really rate the place properly and say that I recommend or don't recommend it, but based on this one visit I'd give it 5 stars. There was nothing negative about my experience, so I can at least recommend the Unaju Don.

I have not been disappointed with kyoto at all. The food, especially the sushi snd rolls, is always fresh. The ramen is excellent. I typically get the Kyoto Bowl, which has a great tasting broth and is slightly spicy. If you decide to dine in, be aware that there isn't a lot of seating room, so if you can, dine in at off peak hours. Overall, I really enjoy the food and the service I get when I order from kyoto.

I absolutely love this restaurant. I go about once a month, and have been for about six months. If I can swing it, I like to go more (but I am living on a budget). The food is INCREDIBLE-the flavor is just so good. The chicken katsu is always so crispy and delicious, the sashimi is so fresh and flavorful. Their hibachi is a good size, their prices aren't too high, and their service is incredible. They are a lovely business and deserve loyal customers. If you're around, definitely consider checking them out. I have had a few of their sushi rolls, and they were delicious. I have no complaints and I look forward to continuing to support them.

We love this local spot. They now take orders online & give discounts the more you spend. Consistent food. Great family. During COVID they offer pickup or delivery. Food was ready & hot at the time we selected for pickup. Support local!!

Small place...delicious food. This place is a little different from the Kyoto restaurants I have been to in the past. For one thing, the locations in Chesapeake and Williamsburg have the TEPPAN-YAKI tables that I have become accustomed to; this one does not. I have no idea if the three locations are affiliated with each other or not. Secondly, the prices for the hibachi entrees are considerably lower, but the portions are smaller. That said, the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered a salmon roll to start, and the hibachi steak and shrimp dinner, which came with the standard Miso soup, and a large hot sake. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The staff was friendly and very professional. This was, all in all, a good dining experience.

I got the steak and shrimp hibachi combo, that came with rice and soup, along with dumplings and a free order of California rolls. The hibachi Cambo was seriously under seasoned. So much that I attempted to add my own salt and pepper after I started eating it. Also, the beef that they used was such a poor quality. A lot of fat still on it and the texture was just off. The beef felt like I was chewing cooked zucchini... The soup that came with it also lacked flavor. The only part of my dinner that was great were the dumplings but I suspect that those were NOT made in restaurant. They were too perfectly formed.I was very disappointed in Kyoto. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money to buy food elsewhere.

Great food, quick service, good prices. I wasn't keen on the soup I got with my bento box, but otherwise it was a yummy meal.
