This used to be my favorite restaurant growing up. Literally went here all the time and would crave it. When I was in town I decided to go for lunch as I heard they have some great pricing for lunch- very true. I ordered the shrimp and steak with extra veggies and shared some fried rice with my sister. The food was good but not as great as I remembered - or maybe I've just had better now living in Orlando. I definitely didn't need to order extra veggies as I was given plenty, but who would have known. I did also order edamame as an app, thinking I'd be waiting a bit, but they started to cook right away and I didn't get it until my meal was almost all served- at that point not evening wanting it. I do love that this place still offers their amazing hot mustard sauce (have to ask for it) and their ginger sauce is great. I tried their yum yum, but to me it tasted like marshmallow sauce - very sweet- and not what I'm used to, so I didn't like it at all. If you are looking for a good meal for lunch, I recommend. Will I go back if in town? Probably not, since places like Kobe in FL are better to me.

I took my wife out to dinner. We both enjoy good hibachi and Kyoto did not disappoint. We waited a few minutes and were seated. The fried beef dumplings and crab puffs that we ordered as appetizers were served hot. I wish that the crab puffs were served with duck sauce instead of the melted butter but they were tasty. The beef dumplings were on point. We both ordered the hibachi steak and scallops with fried rice. The food was amazing. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and the scallops were excellent! Our hibachi chef was engaging and very talented. I would highly recommend this establishment for its great tasting food and at a very reasonable price.

First thing I noticed was that this restaurant severely needs a remodel. The decor is old fashioned. The tables looked old, about 20 years or more old. The chairs were not new. They have very cheap Japanese decor that can be updated as well. The curtains going into hibachi grill are annoying and how many people's faces have those curtains touched. The grill was dirty from the night before. We came in at 5 when they opened. The hostess was very nice and she sat us down and our waitress was sweet. Our appetizer came out after the hibachi chef came out which kinda sucked. I feel like I had to rush to eat my lumpia. It was pretty good by the way. My husband got the volcano roll he liked it. The hibachi chef was friendly and he did accommodate all the people that sat around us including me. I cannot eat mushrooms so I told him not to cook it with my food and he did just that. Three other people didn't want onion and he gave it to the rest of us. There was a family there whose little son roughly 4 years old didn't eat veggies and he didn't give him any. Here's one thing, as nice and accommodating the chef was, he did NOT season the food very well. He barely put any seasoning or sauce on the food. I feel that if they updated their restaurant, cleaned it, and season their food better they could be one of the top places again. I did see they won "Best of" back in 2020. Maybe they can get there again. The reason why I gave them a 3 and not a 2 is because they were nice, and accommodating.

Place was clean. Had a waiter that looked liked a young Trey Songz. He smiled constantly.Food was great. The chef aimed food at my mom. She caught it, then jokingly aimed food at my 19month old son. That was hilarious. Food was also abundant. I wound up taking some home for the next day. The following day, food was even more delicious.

I would like to thank all the staff members in Kyoto. I had brought my family here for my fathers birthday but my child was not in the mood and was throwing a tantrum. The chef that was on the grill was amazing, he tried to entertain my son and did everything to help to put a smile on his face to calm him down. I got the chicken and steak which was a 5/5. The prices for the hibachi were really good. We had a party of six and I ended up paying no more the $160 for everyone.

I hadn't had hibachi in a while, so my fiance and I popped into Kyoto on a Friday night. We tried to go here previously but the wait time was super long, so we made sure to get there right around 5 p.m. when they open and had no problem getting a table. It's a traditional hibachi restaurant, with chefs who do tricks and cook the food right in front of you. You can also order sushi from the sushi bar and/or appetizers that will be brought out to you. I came back again when my friend made a reservation here for my birthday. FYI for those planning a group gathering, they would not seat us until the entire party was there and said we would lose our reservation if everyone didn't show up within 10 minutes of the reservation time.

I love Kyoto, hibachi is always flavorful, and with the chef cooking the food in front of you gives you some vast entertainment. The vibe at the tables and ambiance is always nice. Some of the other hibachi places can be a little pricey, my only issue with Kyoto it's not very kid friendly.

The food was ok, the yum yum sauce was NOT... it was not like normal yum yum sauce it was like a dessert sweet type of sauce. The veggies consisted mostly of cabbage and honestly it wasn't one of the best hibachi restaurants I've ever been to. Down to the fried rice that was made wasn't my favorite. I would give them 3 stars only because the service was great and the chef was so nice. I have had way beer hibachi from other restaurants and I am not sure I would return. The clear soup wasn't like normal hibachi restaurants either, it was really beef brothy. The cleanliness of the restaurant wasn't really there either.

I'm worried for this place. It hasn't been remodeled since it opened in 1999 and is dead for lunch in an otherwise bustling area. The longer they put off cleaning up and remodeling the more unlikely it will be they can afford it.Food is still good, though the hibachi could use with more aggressive seasoning. The run-down atmosphere lends to an inconsistent experience. It's somewhat dark and doesn't always feel clean. Sushi specials are great but ultimately confusing. For example, the lunch special menu cites rolls that are not described or pictured on the other side of the menu. It's hard to figure out what to get if you don't already have favorites.I'd hate to see this restaurant die but, if they remain stagnant, there's little chance of it staying open. I'm sure they can be great again with a fresh look and fresh attitude.

The food was very bland and had no taste at all. The soup tasted like it was cooking in a burning pot. The yum yum sauce was very nasty and tasted sweet. Cross contamination when putting all the food on the grill using the same spatula for the chicken, steak, shrimp, and scallops with broccoli. This was the worse hibachi I ever had. My daughter found a hair in her vegetables. My husband asked for money back on 1 meal out of 3 and the manager refused. It smelled funny soon as I walked in. And needed a remodel badly! I will never visit this place again!!!
