We stopped by Kroger today located at 1653 Sentinel Drive in the heart of Chesapeake. The staff is friendly and helpful if you have questions about where things are located. The store is clean and well stocked and organized. We were able to get in, and more importantly out of the store, in a short period of time.

I don't usually come to this Kroger simply because it's a bit further than I want to drive. I usually go to the smaller Kroger close to my house but I needed some specific items the Kroger on S Battlefield didn't have so I had to go to this one. They had pumpernickel and sourdough round loaves that I needed. They always have such a huge selection of inventory. They also have fresh sushi rolls. They also have a lot of parking spaces. Kroger is always very reasonable with their prices. The cashiers are usually nicer than most so that's a plus.

Grocery pick up is my new jam! I finally switched over to the dark side. But as far as the grocery store itself....I love it. This is my go to place as a parent. Crazy week? Stop by the Wine/beer bar for a quick drink. Need a pick me up, then stop by Starbucks and order you a cup of coffee. You spilled a little wine on your shirt? It's okay! They sell clothes here too like Carhartt! Hungry while you're shopping? There's a great sushi bar in there too! Why not combine a date night and grocery night together? LOL They have mochi freezer section. Slice of pizza- great! Craving an Italian sandwhich...they have that too! Great cheese and deli selection to fulfill your charcuterie board dreams as well!

I shop at this store all the time I enjoy the wide selection of food & bake goods. The reason for three stars is the last few times I've been there I found no shopping carts inside. Also the parking lot had a lot of trash all over the place.

I LOVE this place. They always have plenty of variety and great deals. This particular location has a bar built into the super market. You can actually sit and have a bottle of wine while you you check your grocery list. More pictures to come!! My phone had died

My review is specifically for the hot food area. I work nearby and it is nice to have this place so close. When everything is as it should be, it's a really nice lunch option. Food is supposed to be out at 11 but that doesn't always happen which makes you think twice about burning your lunch break time and get there to find out the food is not ready. When the BBQ is available that is a great choice. It's just got a really unique, good flavor. The chicken wings and tenders are usually lukewarm at best and sometimes chewy. They have veggies out too but most are soaked in butter, FYI.The salad bar is another option in Kroger. It has a lot of toppings and dressing choices. Everything is sold by the pound. I went in a few times in a row and the drink machine was out of everything and the food just wasn't available or ready and I quit going for a long time. Gotta stay consistent to get a regular crowd at lunch.

I strictly come here for BOARs Head Deli meat. So my review is for the deli department. There is ALWAYS a long wait, not necessarily a long line but just a long wait. Only one or two employees at a time. I've tried coming early , late, in the after noon. It does not seem to make a difference. The employees are overwhelmed. It is not there fault they are under staffed. But it is effecting their customer service And morale. It shows all in their faces and behavior. No hello how are you, thanks for your patience, just what can I get you. Also I'm not of fan of not having a number system. Both customers and employees get confused of which customers came first. I have almost witnessed a riot break out over who was next in line. FORREAL.Also several times now a specific employee price tags the bag incorrectly making it impossible to open the bag with out tearing it open, 1st world problems, yes I know lol. Also would it hurt to offer the customer a slice or even show the thickness your cutting. Unfortunately I think all of these small problem is the result of understaffing. All this said, I'll still come back each Monday two pounds of Boar's Head meat for my very deserving husband. Kroger is the only place other then Farm fresh that carries it. It's a small price to pay to make my husband happy,

As a former Publix shopper I understand my expectations are high and when this Kroger opened near my home I was very happy. It is the best store for groceries in this area but today went in for a few things ( quick trip) and spent over an hour.1. Why does the customer service dept. have only one employee there when the line is past the entrance? Other employees stop in, management walks by and all seem oblivious to the 15 people in line waiting for service.2. The deli - whatever happened to "take a number and wait to be called"? They stopped using the number system MONTHS AGO and now have removed the sign and the ticket dispenser. So now you have to keep track of the 7 people ahead of you and the 5 behind you to know your place in the queue. Don't look at any items nearby or you'll lose your place an the 3 (yes, THREE) deli clerks working to help 13 customers (yes I counted) will not know your place in line! They used to have a kiosk where you could order your Deli items, do your shopping, then pick up the deli order at the end. What an epic idea! So convenient! Yep, they got rid of it.3. Free Friday deal - Every Friday they have an inexpensive item available for free. However, they often carry an extremely limited number of them and although the coupon is for 2 weeks, you can pretty much expect them to be out of the item until the coupon expires and only then will it miraculously end up back on the shelves!Don't get me wrong, I still consider Kroger to be the best choice on area supermarkets. I just wish they paid more attention to customer satisfaction.I miss Publix!!

This Kroger store is horrible. A lot of aisles don't have merchandise. Some of the cashiers have attitudes. The Starbucks workers are always having side conversations and not helping customers. Just bad. Buyers beware purchasing gift cards, because they already may be used and Kroger won't help you get your money back even when corporate tells you to go to the store and get a refund. The store also charges over what is on the display.
