Fine, I guess. Not what it used to be. Compares kind of unfavorably to the all-you-can-eat place the next block over. Sunday night on a three day weekend, the server wouldn't give us a table since we didn't have a reservation. The other server was seating walk ins without question. We finagled a table; the entire place stayed pretty empty. Sushi was fine. Not great, certainly not worth twice as much as the aforementioned AYCE place. Sushi took 40 minutes on a slow night. We ordered two appetizers, some fried squid and some rockfish. The calamari took ~20 minutes, while the rockfish (raw) took 30; ten minutes later came the sushi. Not great for a restaurant with a quarter of the tables full.Speaking of, one booth was clobbered with kitchen supplies. Not a good look when you're at Koshi's price point.

I think Koshi has the best QUALITY fish out of all the sushi restaurants I've been to in the Norfolk area. Although it is on the pricier side, I recommend coming here if you want a sushi date night out. All the sushi rolls are incredibly good and the chirashi bowl was very well seasoned with sushi vinegar and the fish was incredibly fresh. You have to park on the street, but usually there's always street parking available. If not, you can park across the street at the little strip parking lot. The waiter was also very sweet and made sure everything we needed was tended to.

I finally got to try this restaurant! Lol I pass it everytime, but forget they are only opened in the evenings. Let's just say everything was excellent! The decore was nice modern feel, and service was perfect! The presentation of each dish was pretty, plus it all tasted so good. And dish can make to order. For example I ordered the tuna tartar, but I asked for them to make a salmon version. So cool! Also ordered gyoza dumplings, seaweed salad, sunomono and couple of our favorite sushi rolls.,I am excited to come again and try other wonderful dishes!

Definitely some of the best sushi in the area and it seems to get decently packed inside. I got takeout here and it was on time and delicious. I was also greeted by the staff when walking in and thanked for my business...which goes a long way with me!

I found this restaurant since my first option for dinner fell through. I just parked and walked until I found someplace promising. This was where I landed! This sushi spot seemed very upscale. The decorations were really well done and the sushi chefs were busy making orders. I sat in front of the sushi chefs and initially it was awkward for me. It was just me alone and no one greeted me. After awhile I went to use the bathroom and debate on whether I should stay. (The toilet was pretty awesome by the way, with a bidet feature I didn't use and a warm seat that took me by surprise!)I decided to stay and sat at the bar instead. There, I received service. I ended up ordering the soju mule, tuna carpaccio, and the salmon skin roll. The mule was very yummy! It was a perfect start to my dinner. Next, the carpaccio. The tuna was so fresh and I loved the flavors together. I was not sure if I should try it but it turned out super yummy. Finally, the star of the show. OH MAN. The salmon skin roll. What a choice! It was divine. The skin was so crunchy and the flavors just went so well together. I keep thinking about that roll! I'm definitely coming back for it!Honestly I would give 4.5 stars if I could but I have to account for the awkward beginning. I just didn't feel welcome initially even though I felt better at the bar. I will still return!

seated at table for over 30 minutes and no one got a drink order from us. yes it was busy, yes they had plenty of staff. we were being out right ignored as they greeted others at the door yet completely ignored us. so much for a reservation. if they couldn't even be bothered to take our drink order we didn't want to know how long it would take to get a food order.

What a great restaurant in a fabulous location in Norfolk. The service was on point with a lot to choose from on the menu and daily specials. The restaurant was clean and very accommodating, perfect for a date night or even family dinner. We enjoyed appetizers from the chef's recommendations as well as the happy hour choices. The rolls will surprise you with the range of options as well as the culinary twists. Definitely check this place out!

This is one of the best places in the area to eat high-quality nigiri sushi. I have been to a few Michelin Star sushi restaurants in LA and Japan, and I can confidently say that quality at Koshi is great. I love uni, but even Michelin Star sushi restaurants in LA can sometimes have subpar uni. Thankfully, the uni at Koshi has been amazing every single time I've had it. If you are craving an authentic nigiri sushi, Koshi is the right place. My top 3 sushi recommendations:UniBotan shrimp (fried head may make you squeamish, but it tastes amazing)Scallops

In a market saturated with mediocre sushi options, Koshi distinguishes itself with an artful balance of creativity and tradition. Our group of six found the menu both refreshing and adventurous. While familiar dishes like rainbow rolls and shrimp tempura grace the menu, the true highlights lie in the inventive use of ingredients such as apple, asparagus, and bulgogi. The chef also avoids the heavy-handed use of sauces that plagues many other spots, allowing the quality and flavor of the fish to shine. We began with well-executed classics--gyoza and seaweed salad--but it was the delicate shrimp shumai that won over even our youngest diners. The visually stunning Summer Breeze roll also impressed with its clean, vibrant flavors. Among the rolls, the Tuna Lover stood out for its exceptional freshness, while the crunchy shrimp tempura in the Alligator Roll added delightful contrast. Future visits will surely include the Double Spicy Tuna Roll and Paradise Tuna Tower, which we are eager to try.The decor hints at a modern, upscale experience but is balanced by a warm, inviting ambiance that welcomes families as easily as it does couples seeking a more intimate dining experience. Our children were captivated by the chef's work at the bar, and our 8-year-old has already declared this his new favorite sushi spot. My only regret? Forgetting to photograph all the beautiful dishes we were so busy enjoying. For those seeking sushi with a creative edge that doesn't sacrifice quality, Koshi offers an experience worth savoring.
