Me and Husband went Thursday night and it was my first time there. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi Hot Pot and he ordered the Soy Garlic Chicken combo and it was delicious. The chicken was better than Bonchon or other Korean Chicken spots. It was wayyy more juicier than I expected! Delicious! The lady working was absolutely so nice and it really was a mom and pop shop. If you like that sorta thing, this is it for you. Absolutely delicious food and good vibes please give it a try

Always excited to try Korean! They say the more side dishes the better the restaurant quality. First things first when you walk in its clean and simple decore. Service was spot on. You can take out or dine in. You walk to the front desk and you fill out the sheet for your order. I decided to dine in. I wanted to try the "Cup Bob" so I ordered the fixings with beef short ribs (+$3) more and array of veggies. While waiting I was presented 4 complemantry side dishes. And is not part of the "Cup Bob". I thought that was very nice they do that. I finally got my Cup Bob short ribs. The cup was good they stack it with rice and the veggies, but very disappointed there were only 3 small pieces of short ribs. I mean small!! I kind of wondered why the heck did I pay extra $3 bucks. Not worth ordering that gain. I will try another protein next time and hopefully it's not going to be small pieces. All in all it was okay. I will come back only if I want a lot of veggies.

Kids were at Trunk or Treat, at my wife and I, who enjoy Korean food, decided to try this new place. It was kinda late, no other customers but us. We both ordered our own CupBop bowls. First you pick you base. Kimchi-fried rice for us both. Second, pick your protein. Beef Bulgogi for me, Beef Short Rib for her. 3rd, your veggies. We both got mushrooms, romaine lettuce, onions, jalapenos. 4th, sauce. I got regular gochugang, she got the extra-hot gochugang. We got it to go, so when we got home, we found our 2 CupBops, and 4 small containers of the Korean sides, which were cauliflower in a light cream sauce, Korean spinach, kimchi, and marinated cucumbers. This was a very nice surprise and unexpected. Maybe it said it's included on the menus, but we didn't see it.So how was everything? Everything was cooked well and seasoned right. My Bulgogi was tasty and combined with the veggies and rice, was very nice.My wife reports hers was very good, too, but very spicy, a little too spicy. She ate it, enjoyed it, wants to go back, but will get the regular sauce next time. The side veges were delightful, fresh, crunchy, and refreshing. We will be returning soon.

Korean Seoul is a new Korean owned restaurant that opened in July of this year in the Newtown Baker Crossing Shopping Center, with its storefront several doors to the right of the Gran Mart International Market.Their specialty is a dish known as Cup-Bap, which was first created in the 2000s as a Korean street food truck offering, consisting of Bap (Rice) in a paper or plastic cup with a variety of fillings and toppings. The Cup-Bap dishes served here are basically build-your-own Bibimbap dishes served in wide, thick, and sturdy cardboard cups.A friendly Korean woman greets you as you walk in and asks you if you are dining in or taking out. You are given a one sheet menu and an ink pen for checking off your selections. When you are finished, she takes your menu as you wait at a table for your food to be prepared and brought to you, whether you are eating in or dining out. This is not a spot where you order and pay at the counter. I ordered from my table at each visit by giving her my checked off menu. My check was also brought to my table when I was finished eating.Their decor is simple and attractive. I found their bright red table tops especially eye catching. After three dine-in visits, I have tried the following:BULGOGI CUP-BAP: I chose White Rice as my base, along with Carrot, Cucumber, Spinach, and a Fried Egg with an upcharge of $1.50 as my toppings. My sauce was the Extra Hot Gochujang. The Bulgogi slices were tough, dry, and weakly marinated. Fortunately, the flavors and textures of the other ingredients came through successfully and brought this dish back to a passable level of satisfaction. My Rating: 3 Stars.SPICY PORK CUP BAP: This time I chose Kimchi Fried Rice as my base and the same toppings as before with the addition of Jalapenos, along with the Extra Hot Gochujang Sauce once again. This one worked much better for me. The Spicy Pork was tender and tasty with a nice spicy zing. The other ingredients came together strongly for an exhilarating flavor experience. The Extra Hot Gochujang Sauce left my hot tooth happy. My Rating: 5 Stars.JAPCHAE: This is a popular Korean dish made with glass noodles and assorted vegetables. It was listed as one of their Appetizers, yet its generous portion size filled me up easily as would a complete meal.Their version came with sliced Bulgogi, which was a little more tender and better marinated this time around. The flavors and textures of the noodles and vegetables came through nicely, and I was well satisfied. My Rating: 4.5 Stars.CHICKEN WINGS: I ordered 6 Hot & Spicy Wings as a take-out order at the end of one of my meals and which I ate at home. They were meaty, filling, and tasted okay overall, but were still a disappointment. They were much more sweet than hot, as well as overly sticky for my tastes. The crispy double-fried texture I have enjoyed from Korean style fried chicken elsewhere was also a bit lacking. My Rating: 3 Stars.BANCHAN: Four Banchan side dishes came with each of my visits--Broccoli, Kimchi, Spicy Cucumbers, and Slaw. My favorite was the Spicy Cucumbers, and I enjoyed the Broccoli and Kimchi as well. I didn't eat the Slaw, as I don't like Mayonnaise. My Overall Rating: 4.5 Stars. Each visit ended with a complimentary Epoca Cool Plus probiotic drink, which was enjoyed with a soothing effect after each meal. Service was attentive and friendly with each visit. In spite of a couple of misses, my average food rating came out to 4 stars on the nose. Hopefully, their quality and consistency will improve over time. I will be back, as their Spicy Pork Cup-Bap dish is calling my name once again. This is a true Mom and Pop restaurant, and I wish their owners the best of future success moving forward.

I am so excited to see another Korean place pop up on the Southside of Hampton Roads, as we don't have many. This place offers bowls and Korean fried chicken. We got the bowl with kimchi fried rice and spicy pork with various add one. The bowl was super, and had a great spicy flavor. The banchan was typical favorites, like the Korean potato salad, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and broccoli. We also ordered a to go drumstick garlic fried chicken. It was crunchy and flavorful! It came with a side of pickled radish and potato salad. I think the potato salad is my favorite banchan! The staff were super nice and attentive. Our banchan and water was refilled without asking. So sweet! She also gave us a little Yakult (yogurt dessert drink) at the end. The place is not very decorated, but it's a good and quick place for lunch. I definitely recommend take out if you are on the go. Thank you so much!

Finally a place that sells Korean Cup Bap.This place is Korean owned and the cooks are legit. As soon as you walk in you can smell the aroma of the amazing food they are cooking. The staff was friendly and they even helped me with certain suggestions to make my order tastier. As for the food, it was very flavorful. They give you a good amount of food. The food was so good I forget to take pics. They have some tables where you can dine in but this place is good for a quick Korean pick up. Check them out.

We were going to the Grand Mart in this shopping center and noticed this new restaurant. It's been a while since we've eaten at the Korean restaurant that serves banchan along with the meal. Everything was super tasty and fresh. Plus the staff were friendly. We will definitely be back.

I've driven by this restaurant a few times and finally decided to give it a try. They are located in the Newtown Baker Crossing Shopping Center, so there is plenty of parking. Their dining room is very casual, clean, and well lit. The owner was very nice and explained the menu to us. My daughter and I both ordered the build your own cupbob, which is very much like a Bibimbap. You pick your base ( kimchi fried rice, white rice or plain fried rice), protein, toppings, and sauce. For my cup bob, I ordered kimchi fried rice as my base with beef bulgogi, carrots, cucumber, bean sprouts, fried egg, and Gochujang sauce. My daughter ordered fried rice as her base with beef short ribs, corn bean sprouts, fried egg, and teriyaki sauce. We also ordered 10 pieces of their korean chicken wings, half were soy garlic & the other half sweet & spicy. Our dish was served with a side offering of Kimichi, fish cake (looked like pasta) , cauliflower and carrot salad, and pickled cucumbers. Overall, I thought my cup bob with the bulgogi was very good, and the portion size was perfect. My daughter Cup Bob with the short rib was also good. They cut up the short ribs into smaller bite-sized pieces, so a few were just bones with very little meat. The chickens wings, I would give a 3.5. They were meaty and big, but to be honest, I have had better korean fried chicken. I would definenlty come back and try a few other cup bob combinations as well as the Japchae. Overall, I would give them 4.5 star. I wish this local mom and pop much success in the future.

This small family owned restaurant is packed full of love and service that makes you feel at home. My family and I came for dinner to celebrate my sister's 17th birthday, and the sweet woman who waited on us was just lovely. She brought my sister a free platter of fried chicken dumplings as a gift for her birthday which heartwarmingly surprised us, but it didn't end there- she then brought her a korean grape juice, which my sister loved. she also removed the charge for my drink, all just because! Her smile and her presence was so kind and warm. Aside from the wonderful service, the food was divine. My family ordered so many different things and everything was amazing- the dumpling ramen, gimbap, tteokbokki, and garlic chicken were my favorites. I tried cucumber kimchi for the first time and really liked it, and usually i'm a picky eater and don't go for things like it but I enjoyed it and was happy to try something new. All in all, one of the best dining experiences my family has had. We all rate Korean Seoul 5/5 stars and will definitely be back! Thank you!!!
