This store is awesome. They provide a lot of locally crafted items from candles to cards and even jewelry. The store isn't overwhelming to navigate through considering how much stuff is there. I believe the items are all reasonably priced, but regardless it does feel goof to support a local business and local creators. I don't think I ever left empty handed, there's such a variety of items to choose from. If you're in the Ghent area I highly recommend stopping by, especially if you're shopping for the holidays!

Great little shop nestled in the middle of Colley Avenue's shopping district. It boasts an assortment of hand crafted items. My favorite thing to get from Kitsch is their stickers! They have a really good variety to. choose from and they are a nice quality. I love the locally themed stickers the best.

Kitsch is a German term for tacky/cheesy stuff that has sentimental or ironic appeal. When I strolled into this cute artsy store (nook) in Ghent, I had to smile knowing they nailed the name. They sell a variety of trinkets, crafts, art and knickknack objects that are all locally handmade; among my faves are their unique greetings cards and repurposed skateboard deck items (coasters, slim card wallets, keychains). Other items intrigued me and made me chuckle but fell into the category of "cool but I'm not buying it." To each their own! Additionally, they offer weekly craft events and classes (tile, sewing and majpodge). Check them out to support local while scoring some one of a kind gifts. Typical Ghent street parking available. It's on a one way street so if you see a space, snag it.

I visited here before I moved overseas and I am so sad I found it so late in the game. The store is made up of all types of local goods and crafts, and is perfect for finding some unique gifts! Some of the items were a little too expensive for my taste, but they've definitely got a lot of cool stuffs. There's jewelry, candles, cards, clothing, stickers, etc. Definitely worth a visit during your stroll through Ghent!

This store is celebrating local artists and crafters. So many of the pieces are one of kind that it'll require at least a 20-30 minute visit to get your eyes on everything. There's a wide variety of price points, so keep your eyes out!

This store is adorable. I LOVE that they only feature items from local Virginia artists and that they have classes where you can come and meet new people and learn to make some crafts. I think it's a fabulous idea and there were all sorts of cute little things inside. They have terrariums - which I am currently obsessed with since I kill every other type of plant I buy - they had candles, little dolls, clay making, etc. Tons of stuff. Check it out if you are a crafty type person, I think you'll love it!

Super cute handmade store in Norfolk! They have a wide variety of products at a wide variety of price points and each item is handmade in Virginia. My heart was stolen by an ah-dorable little crocheted narwhal. Swoon. They also have a variety of special events and craft-y classes. Today they we're setting up for a 'Kid's Shopping Night' for Christmas, complete with hot cider and a card making/wrapping station. Can't wait to get back there and check out a craft night or their beginner sewing class!

I always love popping in here while walking through Ghent. Support local artists while picking up wonderfully kitshy pieces you wouldn't find at the mall. This last trip, I pulled the trigger and ordered a few things for my own home. It's just all so cute! Of course price point here varies wildly. Some things could be called bargains, others just outright nonsensical. I'm not creative enough, but if you're interested, check out the classes they offer and get your art on.

This place is awesome! I have only been in once, but when I went in I was in there for an hour just browsing all the interesting and neat things they have to offer. The store is small but it is colorful and fun with a feeling that is welcoming. The staff is friendly and conversation was pleasant. All of their merchandise is made by local artists and some of the artist will custom make pieces for you upon request, just talk to the Kitsch employee that is available regarding your wishes. My daughter has her ears gauged and she had custom gauges made and they turned out adorable. They offer story times, craft classes, and other fun activities. All the information is on their facebook page. I highly recommend a visit to Kitsch if you are ever close to the Downtown/Ghent area it is well worth it.http://www.facebook.com/kitschva
