I'd return despite a few hiccups.I chose to dine here with a friend because of Newport News Restaurant Week 2018 and this was a restaurant that she hadn't dined at before. So here we are...Well the restaurant is inside the Newport News Marriott and it's located in the City Center Oyster Point part of the city... right next to the beautiful fountain. While there isn't views of the fountain from the restaurant, the hotel does offer patio seating. Our waiter/bartender, Chris was super friendly and on point throughout our dining experience.I ordered the GRASS FED RIBEYE (minus) the wild mushrooms and (minus) onions, house made steak butter, hand cut fries, and broccolini. Sounds yummy right!Well I didn't order from the restaurant week menu which included a three course meal, but the dinner option is a meal the restaurant features as well. The steak was cooked to perfection, the fries, yummy! But I didn't receive the broccolini... so I told Chris ...um... this is just steamed broccoli not broccolini ...In a matter of minutes he returned with the broccolini. And I only ordered this meal because I love love broccolini!! I'm happy now.Keep in mind, the mixed drinks on the menu are no longer available. The waiter advised the drink menu will be revamped as a result, all new drinks will be created. The restaurant wasn't too busy, but very lively. There are TV's in this area as well as ample seating.I called a few days before our arrival to reserve seating, the young lady at the front desk of the hotel answered and advised, reserved seating isn't necessary... and it wasn't.We arrived about 7 pm on a Friday night as we were able to sit down comfortably with no wait at all.My girlfriend ordered a mixed drink and she enjoyed it... I had a sip and it was tasty.I had a glass of Pinot Noir and it was super fantastic. For the most part, I have no side eyes about this restaurant. If I did, the waiter informed us ahead of time of them all.I'd return and I'd recommend if you are in the area you give them a try as well. I believe they feature a happy hour Monday - Friday and they do offer Breakfast in the morning.Parking is available on the street and there are several parking lots in the area as well as a parking garage nearby.Have fun and enjoy life :)

Bar service and food service available! Due to COVID, there wasn't too many staff on hand but the bartender was incredible at taking food orders, drink orders, making drinks, and running food. What a rockstar! Food was tasty - probably one of the better restaurants in the area, granted be alerted that all food is served in to go containers due to COVID. But the crab cakes, burger and fries were all supremely delicious! Desserts were decent but not noteworthy. Not too many seats available so would recommend taking to go!

Terrible service at bar. Took forever to get waited on. After paying for my drink bartender left drink down the bar. I had to get up from my seat to get a drink I paid for.Update: Ok. Breakfast was much better. I had a great waiter, and the food was great. Five stars for breakfast and one star for the bartender the previous night.

I was very surprised as the ratings were not good when I read reviews. The sweet chili wings were delicious and the bowl endless. Had the fish tacos which were also great. The two bartenders provided great services. Felicia and Nancy made a nice team.

Wow, hotel food redefined. Had the tuna tacos and was pleasantly surprised. Coupled with the cucumber salad and I'm glad I didn't leave hotel. The waitress/bartender appeared to be new and was really rushing everyone to close out, asked me 3 times if I was ready to close out. Poor service but the food offset that. That being said if this particularly rude server is here next time I will go elsewhere.

The best thing about this place is the service. Food is ok. If you are hungry, it satisfies the appetite. Very relaxing and again, the service (mainly the bartenders like Felicia) are amazing!! Will definitely be here again because of them.

This was the worst meal! First, they were out of several items, so I started with an appetizer. Waffle chips with a crab dip. The chip were basically very small broken pieces(never saw the crab, tasted like plain cheese dip)For the entree I ordered a ribeye steak. It was so salty it couldn't be eaten. I mean, the whole shaker was dumped on it, it was just awful. My companions also could not eat theirs. The waitress offered a salad as a replacement, I declined and at least she did take the steak off of the bill. Definitely won't recommend or eat here again.

This place is absolutely awful. I travel often and end up settling for hotel bar/restaurant dinners some nights. It's never good, but this was so awful. 4 people there, food was awful, servers sat around and never asked how my food was. Even though I barely touched it. Can't imagine a worse dining experience.
