King Street Diner

We were there for a Sunday brunch. Besides having not much alternatives for gluten free items the taste of food we ordered wasn't great. As I write this Philly steak my boyfriend ordered is sitting in his stomach. I ordered liver with onions with beets and collards as sides. Both sides seemed to come directly from can. Nothing special about them. The liver had a lot of vein in it, which made it difficult to cut. The onions were burnt but delicious. However, there wasn't enough onions to eat the bland liver. The place looked ran down. I understand some people prefer that, however I am not one of them. Luckily, this is the last time we will ever visit this establishment. The empty parking lot should have given us the clue but my boyfriend wanted to try this place as his son recommended this diner. Note to self, do not follow the culinary suggestions of the son.

Here is another diner that I've been going to for years. It's a nice little place to grab a bite to eat & catch up with friends. Great tasting food, good menu choices & service has always been amazing! Come check it out sometime.

I give 3 stars because the decor was retro and it reminds me of diners I went to growing up. The service was fantastic. Unfortunately, the food tasted like chemicals and both my boyfriend and me ended up getting sick later that day. I would try them again in hopes that was just a bad day.

Good food and service. The wait staff is fun and helpful. It has the feel of an only diner (which it is). My family goes to breakfast when I'm in town.

Just had breakfast the only thing good was the eggs. No toast waitress did not inform me prior to odering they were out of bread. Hash browns were full of grease. Even the smoke sausage was greasy. IHOP or Dennys.

Hostess was friendly and breakfast was awesome. This will be my go to spot on my next visit to Hampton.

I have been coming here for years. They have the BEST pancakes in the 757. And their fried sway fish with cheese grits and home fries is my go to meal. I've brought several people here and they've all enjoyed it. I've only had a bad meal once in all the times I've gone there and I assumed the original cook was on vacation. The place could use some updates but that would eliminate its "hole in the wall" feel which I personally enjoy. Only downside is make sure you use the bathroom before you get there.

Overall decent place. I ordered the shrimped and grits and really enjoyed it. The French toast was ok, we've had better but it wasn't bad at all. It's a small location that wasn't busy but the service was pretty good. The restaurant itself has a retro mom and pop ambiance. I'd go again

The food was on point, everything tastes good and service was great. Will be back for sure.
