If you ever wondered if you could survive if the entire grid went down and modern life as you know it was no more, no electricity, no Internet, no stores, no running water, no law enforcement... you might catch a little glimpse of your survival rate here at Killin Pine. Can you throw a weapon as old as the invention of metals and iron? Can you throw with precision and might? Or on a more primal level, could you do it to provide food or protection for you and your family? At its core essence, Killin Pine Axe Range will give you an assessment. What you do after that assessment is up to you. Do you need to work on your survival skills or do you have what it takes to survive an apocalypse? I witnessed big burly men totally humiliate themselves with their pathetic axe throwing technique and I've seen 90 lb petite women bury an axe in the bullseye and's make her husband say yes ma'am the rest of the evening. Size doesn't matter with these axes. It's a skill you must learn. Go a couple of rounds here and there's a good chance you'll improve as an axe thrower and you'll sleep better at night in your temperature controlled memory foam mattress knowing if push came to shove and all you had was an axe to survive, you could do it.

We ran across Killin Pine at the great food truck festival in Newport News. My kids were on my case to try it, and although that kind of thing makes moms nervous (kids, throwing axes?! What could go wrong?!), we watched James navigate the booth with some other kids first and I felt confident they'd be able to try it. SUPER reasonably priced compared to other axe throwing places I've been at -- kids got 10 throws for $10. For my little one, he had ninja stars which were less weight and easier for him to manage. My older son tried a variety of axes and had a great time. They talked me into a round as well and I found it quite enjoyable. We all got sticks! James was great with all of us and we had a great time. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a chance to try it out somewhere!

It was a split decision between 1 or 5 stars. Owner, 1 star. Son/helper/pretty much the person who did everything, 5 stars. It's a great idea and I am fully on board with throwing axes while drinking, however I find it offensive that they only provided one type of wood. I would have liked to have seen a variety of options, a little darker and thicker. What was provided left little to be desired.

Killin' Pine is such a great business, affordable private events for any occasion. You can avoid the crowds and over priced food/drinks at the brick and mortar places by throwing axes at your own house!!!

While visiting a friend in Virginia Beach, Killin Pine came out for our party and was one of the coolest things I've done. They provided a safe and controlled environment to do something a bit different at a house party. I would definitely recommend anyone try this.
