Kevin's Dog House

This location was previously Donkey Dawgs. It's now occupied by Kevin's Dog House which moved from the warehouse area outside of Town Center. The good news is parking is now plentiful as is an expanded dining room is a positive. The bad is it looks like crap outside with old signage removed and a tarp cover with name. Also the strip is in poor condition with most units vacant and debris all over the windows. I ordered a two chili cheese dog from the owners wife who had always been friendly. They were out of soup about 1.5 before close. She said Kevin has cut back two days and was not in. His son now operates the grill. The price for dogs, fries and drink good at around $10. They give you a number and will call it when ready. The interior had some of the other places posters and car items displayed, but it just did not feel comfortable. My assumption is they just moved in with no updates. Also no longer a bar which I loved.Finally no music which was a hallmark of Kevin's. Bottomline it felt totally sterile, several tables needed to be wiped down and no one was doing this during my visit. No energy whatsoever like the old place. The dogs and fries were good, but did not seem to be as good a my previous visits over years with Kevin slaying the grill. It's now self bus and the trash was overflowing, A 2.5 rounding down and hope to see improvements. To be fair they have been in the new location five or six months. So in my opinion many things should have been sorted out.

Stopped by for the first time today. The restaurant is brightly lit with fun decor. The lady behind the counter was very happy and welcoming. The clientele here seem to be regulars. We ordered chili dogs and fries. The all beef hot dogs were delicious and the buns were very soft. The fries were fried to perfection. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food.

Great place for kids! I don't have anything local to compare it to but I love crinkle cut fries and these came out hot and perfect. The chili dogs are great for the price but in my mind don't compare to a Detroit Coney. Which is my bar. We'd definitely come here again though. Service was great and friendly!

The best ever! Friendly, and always on point. The all the way beef dogs are exceptional! I have eaten there for years and always leave happy and full!

Been my favorite place for the best dogs in Eastern Virginia for 15 years. Kevin, Evvy and Matt always provide delicious food. Much of it is made fresh daily. Evvy has some of her beautiful art work on display too.

Got two hot dogs to go. When I got to work they were so terrible couldn't even eat it the steam buns had turned into a watery product. The chili taste like the guy on Newtown roads chili used to heartburn Central, weed the New York hot was shrink up just like the picture he has on his website and did not fit the bun,. it was terrible as well

I love this place but more importantly the people. They are all the sweetest. Finally went to the new location and it's awesome. The son he is the sweetest!!!!!
