This is one of the newer rec centers in the area. Its tucked inside a neighborhood off Princess Anne Rd. Its a pretty big rec center. It has alot of windows for natural light to come through. Which is nice! They have yearly passes, monthly, or even daily passes if you'd like to try it out to see if you like it. The facility has 2 pools and 1 has a walking track, which is great. There's also a play area for the kids in the pool. You should check the pool schedule to see what times you can go, because they hold classes and etc, so the pool isn't always available. You can find info about the classes on their website. If you get the membership you can go to any of the local rec centers. Thats pretty cool if you need a change of scenery.Theres also a cardio/weight room with exercise bikes, treadmills, weights, and more. Some of the equipment has videos you can watch while doing your workout. Theres a upstairs and downstairs workout area and a nice indoor walking track. So you can walk the track rain or shine in an air conditioned building. If you take your water bottle, there are refillable water fountains and they provide wipes to wipe the machines down. They have different classes that are offered if you view their site. The basketball court is also nice. You can see it from upstairs while walking the track. This is a pretty nice facility. I can't wait to check out some other locations as well.

This rec center is definitely kids-friendly, but kinda useless for me as an adult. The basketball court floor is made with materials that make the basketballs sink into the floor even though the balls are filled with air. The group fitness room is very small and it can barely fit 15 people, which some of the popular classes like bodypump can totally exceed. The gym seems big but the lifting machines are too close to each other and the walkway between machines are too tight. Sometimes I had to dodge when I pass by a leg machine cuz when somebody is using it cuz the leg part would get into the walkway when they lift. The swimming pool... I wouldn't even call it a swimming pool but a big kiddle pool or mini water park. There's a lazy river for you to walk or do some in-water exercise buy if you wanna swim? Good luck with swimming in those six 25-meters lanes IF they're open. Most of the time 3 or all of them are for lessons or occupied so basically the whole swimming pool is not for adults who just wanna swim. The only extra star is for the indoor walking/running trail because it is spacious and there are some machines alone the trail too. The machines are also relative new but it's not a point that would make me come to this specific rec center cuz some other rec centers have new machines too.

Pretty decent recreation center with a great price of $110 per year for Va Beach residents. That said, with this membership (from my understanding), you can use the other rec centers in the area. The center has everything that one would need to start or continue their fitness journey. However, I would not compare this rec center to larger chain gyms with a massive amount of corporate sponsorship. The center has a medium size weight room, a 25-meter pool, an indoor 3-lane track (eight laps = 1 mile), a decent amount of cardio equipment, a couple of basketball courts, a wide variety of workout classes, and a few other things. *I'm kind of new to the center and have not had a chance to check out everything. While I have not had any issues with the weight lifting area first thing in the morning, I can imagine that things would get kind of tight during evening hours. The facility is pretty clean, and I saw employees cleaning the machines quite a few times. While the rec center does not provide towel service, it has plenty of sanitary wipe stations throughout the facility. Great place all around.

So far, this is my favorite of all the Virginia Beach rec centers. It's newer, larger, and has a TON of workout equipment as well as a large walking/running track on the second floor. There is also a huge pool area with a walking water track (the only one I believe of all the centers). The ladies locker rooms are expansive with tons of showers, stalls, and lockers. Last weekend we came here to play pickle ball and this is our favorite location with three courts and bleachers with tons of seating while you wait. Some of the others there is not enough space to accommodate all those who come to play with seats or places to be while you wait and folks end up standing for 20-30 minutes at a time. Not so here! Room for all and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. We stayed to workout at around noon on a Saturday and had no issues with equipment or long waits. The price is excellent at $110 for a year and you can use any of the city's like 6 or more rec centers. Plenty of parking here as well. You can also do a day pass for $10 or a month for $25 but that won't go towards your annual $110 if you do decide to sign up later.

Hanging out in the area with family for Memorial Day weekend and needed reception for the kids! This spot is amazing. Swimming pools, walking track, and basketball courts provide hours of indoor fun to break up the hot summer days. The staff was very friendly and helped us non-Virginians get registered for day passes ($20 or so for one adult and two youth). The facility is clean and well-maintained. My sons enjoyed playing in the pools that has a lazy river as well as two basketball areas. There is plenty of room for the little ones, too, in the "water park" area that's tropical-themed. After swimming, it was on to basketball. There are four indoor courts so there's plenty of opportunities to join a pick-up game. Bring your tennis shoes so you can use the winding walking trail that overlooks the court while the little ones play. Bring a quarter...you'll need it for the lockers!

Such a fun place for the kiddies! I will say that it can be overwhelming with all the fountains and splashing going on for the smaller kiddies and they can't touch in the football area so it's a bit tricky. But my son overall had a blast. I also would like if they offered puddle jumpers like the Williams farm location.

Fumes from chlorine pool cover the entire gym so good luck trying not to die while working out and then when you swim fumes make your eyes water for hours!!!

before doing your event here think twice I did my baby's first birthday here and it was 2-4 we arrived at 2 in the afternoon the door to the room was closed they opened it at 2:10 and we started to decorate in my room it had capacity for 30 people and just because some of the parents were outside in the hallway talking a girl came to say that there were too many of us and that we had to pay for more space I explained to her that no and I kept bothering her with the same thing I even told her account the people we had to pay for an extra space that we didn't need because she came and came they never let us enjoy the place.I think it is illogical that babies under 2 years old are playing on the playground without their parents' supervision. They wanted us to pay more money just to watch the children play. An adult is not using the play area, they are only watching their babies. It is ridiculous. We pay anyway, but it is ridiculous to pay for an adult who is only watching their baby play. Literally pay for your child and let him be there alone playing. Then we were packing up to leave and these 2 girls came to start lifting table by table and throwing everything away, apart from that they came to open the room 10 minutes late they literally kicked us out, in my experience I feel that it is not worth having an event here, I felt discriminated against and harassed because they were the only ones who treated us like that, they didn't come to the event next door to say anything, they never communicated with the event organizer they always told everything to the guests what an ugly thing, it's true we had a very bad time everything in the end we paid extra for things that we didn't need because she opened the entire other room and the side that she made me pay for we never used it not even the hundreds or tables, it was only paid because she was annoying she never told that there were less people than the room capacity. We also have friends and family who already have a membership playing in the playground and she just kicked them out of the place without asking, she just said you have to pay in front when I didn't ask if they have a membership, once again this feels horrible because they were children with a membership and they couldn't defend themselves, we felt discriminated against and harassed by these 2 women, the experience was horrible, many of my friends who were thinking of renting the place when they saw that decided not to do it because they saw how badly we were treated.I understand that you have a job to do but be nice, ask, speak to the event organizer, not the guests, count the people, don't just ask for more and more money, don't discriminate or harass.

I absolutely love this Recreation center. The Staff is the friendliest and always willing to help out. Staff member Felix gives words of encouragement which adds to the professionalism this center offers. The equipment is updated and maintained to perfection. I would recommend this center over all gyms in the area..
