The Pros: Great food and friendly service. I had the scallop hibachi dinner and it tasted great. The hibachi fried rice was awesome. Our Chef was also very funny: he flipped pieces of food for us to catch with our mouths. The Cons: I only got two pieces of fried shrimp, not sure if that is the norm. Also, the whole time we were there our dirty dishes weren't taken and I was not asked if I wanted another drink (and I definitely wanted another drink).

We love Katana! The prices are really good for "cook in front of you" hibachi and the food is always good. We've had better but it's still really good, especially given the price. Their fried rice especially is really good, especially for my taste, and it just has egg in it, it doesn't have the peas and carrots many places add. The staff is friendly and we've never had to wait for a table. The cooks are funny and engaging as well. I highly recommend, especially for a night out!

The establishment itself looks dirty when you walk in. I ordered the Hibachi chicken dinner and the chicken was well over done and tough. All the sauces/flavors taste like off the shelf brands, not something it expect from a restaurant. Would not recommend to anyone looking for hibachi.

Please NORFOLK, get a Benihana steak house that is clean and fresh. I'm not sure who keeps Katana in business but they certainly aren't spending their revenue on decor, air conditioning, a soda fountain, or cleaning supplies. It was so hot inside that they had jumbo fans circulating the warm air. Which unfortunately didn't make it any cooler. The service was lack luster. Nice enough people but "the dinner show" was "meh", to say the least. The food was actually pretty decent. Maybe since my standards were dropped significantly upon walking in, the steak and shrimp tasted better than I thought it would. The soup was pretty much just broth. The salad was not impressive. Drinks come in a soda can. Tip: there is a coupon that comes in the VAL-PAK in the mail.

I hadn't been to this restaurant in years but went back for a birthday celebration. Katana's did not disappoint. The food and service were the absolute best ( just as I remembered from a few years ago). We ordered the dumplings & edamame as an appetizer with the miso & clear soup, which was very tasty . The main entrée was Hibachi Chicken & Steak with veggies and fried rice. The portions were large, delicious, and filling.... can we say leftovers. I will definitely be putting this back in my "eating out" rotation. Thank you Katana for the great service and awesome food!

The most friendly little old people run this place and even though they're a little slow they make up for it with a wonderful environment and amazing showmanship! The food is so delicious and very filling! Perfectly cooked steaks and a great time is what you'll get when you go here!

The food was good, good sushi and hibachi, but I would NOT recommend going here. My boyfriend called ahead to make a reservation for valentine's day and the person who answered the phone didn't even take done his information. We were under the impression that we had a reservation but we were still seated as if we had just walked in. The waiter was also the host and did not tell us how long we had to wait. We ended up waiting 40 minutes just to sit at the table and then another 40 minutes just for the cook to come out. The food and 'show' was good but in total took maybe 15 minutes so I have no idea why it took almost 2 hours for us to eat. The restaurant itself was okay, a bit dirty but I enjoyed the artwork. If you are thinking about eating here, I would highly recommend ordering and NOT sitting in.

Went here last week and walked in and it was absolutely disgusting. Greasy gunk filled every crack and crevice of this place and the ventilation covers were brown. Never experienced a low end, grungy hibachi place before and was not ready for the scene once we walked in. Surely, we thought the food must be keeping this place open, but no. Very below average food quality and taste. My spouse and I have not stopped talking about how dirty this place was and it is easily our most regrettable meal and purchase in a long while.

I read the previous reviews, but ignored them. I'm here to tell you don't!!! It looks just as dirty and dingy on the outside as it does on the inside... I had to send my glass back because it had food on it!!! The food tasted like I cooked it... there was no seasoning used so I asked for teriyaki sauce to be added, but that didn't do much for the flavor. The ginger sauce was the worst I've ever had... it had more a vinegar bite than I'm used to. My two year old LOVES hibachi and barely touched it! Save your money, save your time, don't do it!!!
