Joyu Tea & Coffee

Joyu has been a favorite of mine since they opened up in Virginia Beach. For every visit, they satisfied my cravings for boba tea and yogurt/smoothies. Last year, they opened up another location here in the Peninsula. This here is our 2nd visit after having some treats for Yelp months ago. Shall we delve into this visit?Walking inside, Sophia and I were both greeted by staff working behind the counter. Some folks were seated at tables with their laptops while music played on the speakers. A pretty relaxed vibe all around. For ordering, we went to the tablet and placed ours separately. My choice was the Cupid Slushy, which was one of their specials for Valentine's Day, consisting of Strawberry and Cotton Candy yogurt. And I also added brown sugar black pearls to the dessert. Man oh man was it good. Full of flavor from both yogurts and not too sweet at all. And yes, yours truly had brain freeze. You knew it was gonna happen. Ha!!!A wonderful stop to a place that needed to be added to the Peninsula. You know we'll be back real soon. Till next time :)

Finally! A spot on this side of the water that has croffles!I know there is also a joyu on the other side of the water but i never got a chance to go. The inside is so cute! Very modern and simple. There is a kiosk you can order from, but you can also order at the register. The employee was super nice and gave me direction and assistance as it was my first time there. I'm not a fan of coffee, so i was interested to see what drink I might like. I played it safe and got a peach tea and it was good! I built my own croffle, and got strawberry and cream which was good. I will definitely be back!

Cute boba tea cafe in a strip mall next to Marshall's and Wal mart. I know there are other locations in Va beach but I've never been and the drinks always looked delicious!The staff was really friendly and gave me some good recommendations. I ultimately went with the Taro Lava Brown Sugar milk tea with boba and half the sugar... it was delicious but still sweet. The taro foam was sooo good! I can't imagine what it would have been without lessening the sugar though. Can't wait to try another drink!

Best tea!!! I'm obsessed with how delicious their tea is. Also in awe at how adorable the shop is! It's easy to order your drink and pretty quick to receive the drink. My favorite thing about Joyu is that almost everything is customizable. It usually is such a bummer going to other tea shops and they don't have different milk options. I'm so thrilled I can order a Taro tea with oat or almond milk. This is definitely a drive to get to but once I saw it offered alternative milk options I'd definitely will be making the drive to Joyu! 10/10 recommend!

I freaking love this place! The vibe, but mostly their drinks! I am so so happy they opened closer to me! They were by old house and I moved on the other side of the water...I have my punch card...it's about to be full! The girls were very sweet and it was nice and clean! See you guys soon!

I stopped in while on my way back to VB from a roadtrip, and this newly opened Joyu did not disappoint! The inside is cute and nicely kept, and there's also a long, comfy sofa to sit in as well at certain tables. My friend and I ordered drinks, and their service seemed a bit slower than usual in getting our orders out especially since we were the only ones in the store, but the place also seemed popular for Doordashers so all of the staff was kept busy. I got the hot chocolate matcha and my friend got the passion fruit peach tea: both drinks were pretty good! One thing I like about Joyu is they don't oversweeten their drinks, so the sugar in both drinks were perfect even at 100%. Glad to see Joyu's new shop over the bridge is doing well, always looking forward to exploring their menu more!

Better coffee than any shop I've tried on the peninsula thus far and is worth the stop for this alone. Disclaimer: The coffee is extremely strong (3-4 espresso range), but I stick to 50% sugar to get the full flavor.

11/30/2024: Grand opening morning - one word to describe the drinks, atmosphere, staff/customer service: perfect. It was great and a pleasure seeing the Owner and his Team as well! We got two drinks: one large Moonlite Lychee Tea with regular (100%) sugar and regular (100%) ice and one large Strawberry Lemon Tea with regular (100%) sugar and regular (100%) ice and strawberry toppings. Both drinks were delicious and refreshing. I kid you not, but my partner literally went in and got another one after we walked to the vehicle. I highly recommend this unique tea/coffee establishment. Both of their establishments - they got one in Virginia Beach as well! Great work Team! Looking forward in your continual development and great things that you and the Team continue to make!

Staff were very welcoming and the establishment was spotless . Being from out of town this was one of the first stops and I'll be frequenting this establishment as long as I am in town.

At 6:50pm on 02/16/2025, my friends and I decided to go to Joyu for some boba. The two workers there (two young girls) decided to be very disrespectful when they had to say the name of my Asian friend. I understand not knowing how to pronounce ethnic names but to laugh is ridiculous. You can ask how to pronounce a name but to laugh after already being corrected...oh you have no decorum...get it together babes
