I had to wait a few minutes before anyone greeted me at the bar area. I placed my order within seconds and my drink order. The inside is very modern and up to date. The decor is clean and there are plenty of booths and tables. There are separate rooms you can have large parties in as well. The calamari is very good and came out in less than 15 minutes. The waitress was pleasant. The drink was just ok. Nothing to talk about. I will come back to enjoy more calamari to go next time.

I ordered the fish n chips($11) and clam chowder ($5) for lunch. The clam chowder was on the liquidy side, I wish it was thicker. Decent small clams in the soup. The fish batter was on the less thick side, and was surprisingly a little bit soft where it would just tear off easily. The fish was flaky and tasted good in conjunction with the tartar sauce. Fries were ok, and only good because it was just freshly made. Staff looked very nice and professional, but were a bit slow at time. Overall a fancy restaurant in the Dinwiddie area with above average food for the area and great prices!Food(50%): 7.1Staff/service(25%): 6.0Value(25%): 8.0Overall: 7.1/10

I've been seeing a lot of mixed reviews on this place and it's local so I had to give it a try... and wow! One of the teams at work had their Christmas dinner there and outside of it not being enough space for the amount of parties they had tonight, there was really nothing else I could complain about. Our waitress was soooo nice!!! I wish I could remember her name... she was so patient with our group of 10... and my one year old who was VERY ACTIVE at the table last night... the food was fresh and hot.. the only thing i wasn't a fan of was the filling on the lobster and shrimp egg rolls... they could redo those with a better filling... it was not what i expected... but the bang bang shrimp, the cornbread, the filet, the crab cakes... 10/10 for the entrees. I will be back!

Axel was our server of the evening. He was extremely attentive and kind throughout the entire dining experience. I ordered the herb encrusted salmon with sautéed broccoli and mashed potatoes.Overall, the food was tasty and I enjoyed my time at the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a bit upscale, but casual clothing is seen throughout the entire place. It wasn't too busy tonight, so we were sat quickly and food was served in a timely manner.

In the past year, I have eaten at Joe's at least 6 times and each time the food and service was consistent. Food is delicious and always well prepared. The staff always seem to work well together. I do have my favorite waitress but I have never had issues with any of the staff. Warning: the hush puppies are. Addictive!!! I hope they always stay this dependable! Go visit

2nd chance last chance. Service is slow and don't understand why when the restaurant is empty. Why does it take 5 mins to get water and a drink order. I literally had the opportunity to tell my wife about my day and watch others get seated and place their orders. But it showed when we were asked if the checks were together, guess they didn't notice the wedding bands on a black man with his white wife. What's so sad is that as a military veteran and both my wife and I are state employees we try to support local businesses but if you don't frequent those businesses daily and they know you as homegrown the service suffers and it showed again. NEVER again!!!

Wonderful service and excellent food!! Was so thankful to have our waiter Axel treat us like royalty especially hearing we were from California visiting our daughter stationed at Fort Lee who got special leave for her bday this wkend! He explained everything on menu and recommended wonderful dishes! We all got exactly what we preferred and it was very prompt as well! It was a Friday night so we made reservations! Axel made my daughter feel even more special by allowing her to select the cake of her choice on the house! It was such a great night and we really enjoyed all of it!!

Had a fantastic experience! The bartender was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Ordered the bone-in ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection--absolutely loved it. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. Definitely planning to come back again!
