Always nervous ordering from new take out places! Mainly because of cleanliness!When we called they answered the phone quickly! Placed or order When we arrived I was happy to see the place was very clean Located In a small strip plaza ! Ample parking and accessibility!Our food was ready ! Hot and ready to go!Got home unpacked it and again very pleased on the portions!Good taste def made fresh!

Was talking to a coworker about Pancit. She said this place has really good Pancit so I looked at the menu and got chicken and broccoli, an egg roll and the boneless ribs with pork fried rice. The reason for the four stars and not five is the egg roll. It lacked filler, the vegetables and meat. It was as if someone forgot to add it. The boneless ribs also had some fat on it. I didn't know it was there until I started chewing and it was a lot, but other than that the rest of my food was well prepared and delicious. It was a lot of good. It was clean when I walked in. I ordered via door dash pick up so I went in and grabbed my food. Someone said in their review the area was bad. While I'm new to the area, it didn't seem bad to me. It right off the street, visible and I didn't feel unsafe.

Good Chinese for the area. I've tried a few other places and this is the best, cleanest, and most constant. I've gotten food from here over a dozen times and it doesn't disappoint. And it's always fast with good service.

We ordered 3 things. Chicken chow mein, orange chicken and egg rolls. The photo is our chicken chow mein, there were zero noodles just rice. Orange chicken was ok but the quality of the chicken was not good and didn't taste great. Neither did the rice. Egg rolls were fine but nothing to make up for the lack of noodles and quality of the chicken.

I've been getting food from Jacky Chen's for several years now, starting at their previous location. Food has always been great! My mom is always shocked at how much meat is in a meal, often she splits it between two days. The combo's come with an eggroll which is nice. I've always ordered online and gone in to pick it up. Definitely check it out if you haven't yet!My only *wish* is for them to add dishes that use Shacha sauce. It is a family favorite, but we haven't been able to find it anywhere in the area. We especially like it when it includes water chestnuts in the recipe! Shacha shrimp, Shacha chicken, all the things! It's delishious and would help perfect the menu at Jacky Chen!

Used to be our personal favorite Chinese Takeout spot nearby but I feel as if the quality of it went down. Maybe it's because at the time they were moving locations but I'll definitely have to give it another shot since they officially settled right across the post office now. Again, really picky with Chinese takeout and they gave the 'ok' to a special request, which was less sauce and extra crispy, and we got double the sauce and majority was of the squishy breading pieces. It wasn't too bad but the sauce can be a bit too much and too heavy, so we couldn't finish the meal and ended up tossing it. It's just General Tso's chicken so I mean it's decent no matter how it's prepared. Service is always nice. You're greeted with a smile, order is taken promptly, and they make it fairly quick. I have yet to go to the new location but driving by, the inside looks brighter and a lot cleaner!

Visiting my dad in Portsmouth, knowing he wouldn't want to cook after work- and I wouldn't want to cook after the long drive, was my perfect opportunity to curb my Chinese food craving.Though I love scouring Yelp recommendations, I let my dad 'show-off' his recommendation skills, with the only rule being, "we share everything" haha. He hadn't dined at Jacky Chen's before, but working in a hospital said their take-out comes highly recommended by many a busy, hungry staff. We ordered: Steamed Pork Dumplings, Lobster Sauce Seafood Medley, Mongolian Beef, Boneless Spareribs, Sesame Chicken (spicy), and Moo Shu Shrimp w.pancakesonly woes: we ordered the beef & chicken as just meat w. white rice on the side, but they came as combination platters mixed in with fried rice-and with very very greasy eggrollsPros: everything was absolutely delicious & large portions.We ended up with not only a hearty dinner this night, but had enough leftovers to have another hearty lunch the next day, and then still some left! Ribs were thick cuts, with not too much fatty edges- and the right amount of sauce-without overly swimming in sweetness. The chicken was juicy, not too much breading. The seafood plates had large well-seasoned shrimps. The Mongolian Beef could have used a bit more spice or 'pop' of flavor- it tasted quite plain, but the dish had so much meat in it, which was a pro overall. The moo shu shrimp dish had so much flavor- the cabbage was perfectly marinated in a delectable sauce, with ample hearty shrimps.If I lived in Portsmouth, this would be my go-to Chinese takeout. Large portions, delicious food, reasonable prices, and a large menu variety.

This place always hits. Some things are definitely better than others, but what's good, is really good. I love the pork fried rice, and fried dumplings. It's family owned, and the guy at the counter is always friendly. Food's great, and so are the prices. I go about every other week.

Had an order delivered by uber eats on10/30/2024 and paid with my visa. In December I was charged again with no delivery and both uber eats and the restaurant refused to refund the $58 dollars saying it was my fault and maybe I should tip better.

I love their food but not enough to risk my life picking it up. They moved to a bad area In Portsmouth.
