When we remodeled our kitchen, our contractor recommended custom cabinets by Dave's Cabinet. At first we were really impressed. They did a great job on some very specific requests on our part, and the cabinets looked beautiful. However, as time went on, the cabinets started having some problems. The doors started rubbing together and one of the drawers was sagging. We called to have someone come out and adjust them and could never get an appointment. I called or texted our salesperson, Michelle, no less than 6 times over the course of a month and a half. She kept putting me off, and then quit answering my calls. We finally found someone else to fix them. He made adjustments and replaced the hardware with something sturdier. We were looking for a company that would support their own craftsmanship. Unfortunately, Dave's Cabinets wasn't it.

May 2016. August 2016. We followed Cheryl here from another company. She is very easy to work with, but is very busy...While with this company she helped us with 2 houses in Hampton Roads. Dave's has a great selection and amazing prices. Quick, easy install. Readily works out problems.

Beautiful cabinetry. I like how they were in time an very meticulous. I got the granite countertops for my bathroom. Everyone loves it. This is a great place and the staff was very welcoming. I went to other stores but this place had the look I needed for much needed upgrades.

Frustrating experience. If you want all white cabinets then you may not have the same problems I experienced. The dark stain bathroom cabinets had been installed but upon inspection, the stain job was poor. The cabinets had uneven areas and splotches. The installer said that the warehouse failed to perform a quality inspection. Dave's cabinets uninstall the cabinets, stain them again and install for a second time. All this took close to 4 months. The designer politely made promises of delivery but never happened on time as promised.

Our contractor recommended Dave's (now Indigo) for our bathroom remodels. The first time I went there, the designer walked me through the options for the vanity and took me out back to pick out the granite or quartz for the countertops. I was very pleased with her professionalism and felt confident the we would have a good working relationship. I ordered the vanity in April. We had to pick up the vanity and everything went well until we ordered a cabinet for our laundry room. The professionalism went out the door. We gave her the dimensions and she said the cabinet would be in in about a week. When my husband and I went to pick up the cabinet, we were shown 2 cabinets. The designer had ordered 2 cabinets which were 24" each, not 48". We were not happy with this. We wanted what we ordered and paid for. After that, things went down hill. Calls were not returned and texts not responded to. Finally (about a month later) we had our laundry room cabinet. We then had to wait 2 more weeks to have the quartz countertops delivered and installed. My husband was home when they arrived and didn't pay attention to the countertop for the vanity. We had purchased a very expensive faucet which had 2 posts. After they left, (about 4:30 pm) my husband looked at what they had installed. He was very upset that rather than drilling 2 holes, they had drilled only 1 hole. When I came home and saw the debacle, I about lost it. Since Indigo is only open 8:00 - 5:00, we had to wait until the next day to get this resolved. No apologies, just an explanation that the message to the stone company wasn't delivered letting them know about drilling 2 holes. I was able to talk the the manager of the stone company -- they blamed Indigo for not giving the information about the holes. They sent out 2 guys to drill the 2 holes -- fortunately, the faucet covered up the center hole. There was no follow up from Indigo to make sure we were happy with the cabinets and the countertops. Once they got their money, they forgot about customer service. Do not use them unless you're o.k.with 0 customer service after the sale.

Building a custom home was challenging with endless decision making and contractors to juggle. Luckily, I came across Dave's Cabinet. I was hesitant at first after reading some mixed reviews online but after meeting with Kim Drewry a few times we knew we made the right choice. Kim designed the cabinetry throughout the house, including kitchen, family room, and all bathrooms. We spent numerous hours working together, which at times required her to have nerves of steal due to hiccups during the lengthy house construction. The cabinetry is beautiful, sturdy and relatively affordable. The entire team at Dave's did a great job in executing our vision. From the precise CAD drawings to the countertop cuts. Kris was indispensable during the installation process, often having to fix other contractors mistakes in the process. Carlton was able to supply high quality trim that is durable as much as it is beautiful. Overall, a great team of people, knowledgeable and hardworking. I strongly recommend Dave's Cabinets and will not hesitate to work with them in the future.

Dave's cabinets built our original cabinets twenty years ago in our home. Years later we used them to update our countertops. The cabinets proved not to be the best quality over the years. We recently had an issue with water damage to the wood under our kitchen sink from a leak. We tried to get them to come out and look to replace the wood after the leak was fixed but just got the run around. Said twice they were going to get back with me after my calls to them. No one would even call us back so we found someone else. I definitely would not recommend them. Apparently, they don't value "repeat" customers unless they see "big bucks" ahead with the job.

I ordered my bathroom vanity(1 cabinet) not a whole kitchen and counter top of January 31st and they promised it would be ready in 4-5 days which is a joke because I still don't my stuff and its February 9th. They are way too busy and understaffed. Maybe this owner should hire more people to take care of their customers and stop pocketing all your profits!! I have called everyday to check with Thomas on my order and they have no clue when it will be ready. I guess once they receive your money, YOU DONT MATTER! At this point ORDER ELSEWHERE!! Unless you have a month to wait for them to make it for you. I don't recommend this business to anyone.

SHOP ELSEWHERE! First, I want to preface that this 1-star rating is for Dave's Cabinets, the company; it is in no way any reflection of the cabinet and countertop manufacturers. If I could give zero stars, that would be a more accurate reflection of what to expect from this company. My husband and I are STILL in the thick of our kitchen remodel nearly 8 weeks later; a project that should have only taken four weeks MAX! I called Paul (Sales) to come out and do an assessment of our kitchen and paid the $300 consultation fee up front - without even seeing a raw sketch of anything. We had existing hard wood floors in the house that were cut into a 45-degree angle and transitioned into the kitchen. We completely changed the footprint of the layout which would require new framing for a knee wall for a new peninsula and bar. Paul's measurements, he assured us, took into account this awkward angle. About one week later, my husband and I went in to his office to go over the design. My original idea was to do a solid surface countertop since we were doing this renovation to increase sale value of the house, but Paul insisted that we would never be able to resell a house in Virginia Beach with anything other than granite and said that solid surface would only cost us more money - basically said that GRANITE was more cost effective. We reluctantly decided to go with the granite top. A few days after that, we went back in to approve the design and were told that we needed to pay for the cabinets and granite tops ALL UP FRONT. When we took the plans home and started working on getting the frame work done for the knee wall, we discovered that all the measurements on that side of the kitchen was 7" SHORT in order to match up to that awkward 45-degree angle of the wood floor. (Mismeasurement #1!) When I called to address this with Paul, he said "we never measured for the floor..." and continued to argue the fact with me. When I asked if we could swap our base 30" cabinet out for a base 36" cabinet and get a spacer, he said that it was not possible and said that we would have to fork over MORE MONEY for the replacement - 6 more inches! The delivery was set for August 9th but was delayed another day (after my husband took off work and we had our contractor scheduled to come in and get to work) and was told it was because all of the cabinets weren't "done" yet. When the cabinets were delivered, the delivery guys unloaded everything into our garage, asked my husband to sign the delivery invoice and set out on their way. There were several cabinets which we accounted for (a couple were damaged), a bundle of trim pieces and a kit for the inside base of the cabinet going in for under the sink. That kit was only the flat piece of wood for the inside on the cabinet and didn't include any framing pieces for it to sit on top of - it couldn't just sit flat on the floor right?????Our nightmare continues! There was one piece (side panel that frames in the refrigerator) that was not delivered and wasn't discovered until after we installed all of the cabinets; about three weeks after delivery. I called Paul and told him that we didn't receive the panel and gave me a run-around response saying, "...well I hope your contractor didn't damage it and throw it out..." WHAT?!?!?! Once the cabinets were in, my husband and I moved the stove and refrigerator into place only to find that Paul had not measured appropriately to fit our fridge! (Mismeasurement #2!) Even if we had received the panel to frame in the fridge, we wouldn't have been able to install it because our fridge is about 4" deeper and 2" wider than the upper cabinet. The nightmare still isn't over!!!!! When the granite guy showed up to measure for the countertops, he told us he couldn't do anything until we got that piece installed for the refrigerator because the counter was going to be flush up to it. So here we are... STILL WAITING to figure out where this undelivered piece is for the fridge, no countertops, can't get a call back, and every step of this process and dealing with Paul has been nothing short of a nightmare!!!!! Sure they have great prices (at face value) and the quality of the cabinets is great but both of their products (cabinets and counters) are from other companies that are contracted by Dave's. Ultimately, Dave's sales consultants want your money, convince you to spend as much as possible, pay up front and when your money is paid; wash their hands of you. The cost savings in not worth all the hassle, spare yourself and your sanity and SHOP ELSEWHERE!
