I've given inaka several tries now and I can't get past the subpar sushi. Last night was probably some of the worst service and sushi I've had in a very long time. We were seated very quickly around 6pm this past Saturday evening and quickly ordered beverages. It took some time for us to decide. When our server returned, I asked what was in the vegetable roll. Her response - "I don't know I am new." Fair enough, but then she assumed I wanted it and I had to clarify that I wanted to know what was in it before I ordered. When orders arrived, my sushi was a solid 10 minutes before other rolls at our table and my daughter's teriyaki chicken was another 5 minutes after that. I don't have to tell you that a 5 year old doesn't like waiting that long after the adults to get their meal. Her chicken was fine and a good portion. My sushi was horrible! All 3 of my rolls were half rice (see photo). And the rice was incredibly dry. The sweet potato was a tiny sliver with heavy breading and no flavor. The super duper roll was so coated in sauce it was impossible to taste the eel or salmon. I think I've given Inaka enough opportunities to unseat my favorites near my home - Hanaki in Chesapeake and Sakatomo in Virginia Beach. Most likely will not return.

Came here with my friend to get our sushi fix. It wasn't fried due to the holiday week, so service was prompt. I got the dinner box which was great for the price. The soup was hot, the ginger dressing for the salad was great. Typically you get 1/2 a roll with a box, but you get a full California roll. I took the Yaki Soba home. My friend got a sushi roll which she enjoyed. Definitely a great spot for sushi or hibachi.

My family and I decided to try Inaka for a family dinner after our usual spot was closed. Drawn in by the restaurant's excellent reviews, we took a chance and it definitely paid off. As soon as we arrived, our waitress welcomed us with a warm smile and promptly attended to our table. She was efficient in taking our drink orders and gave us ample time to peruse the menu. For appetizers, we ordered gyoza and fried chicken. While I missed the chicken skewer that was no longer available, the gyoza was a delightful surprise. It was cooked to perfection - crispy at the bottom and soft and chewy on top. The filling was fresh and moist, earning a solid 5/5 rating. The fried chicken, while fresh, had a batter more akin to American Chinese sweet and sour chicken than a crispy coating. Served with a sweet chili sauce, it left us wishing for a crispier texture. I would rate it a 3/5.My youngest opted for a simple crab roll, which was fresh and satisfying with the classic combination of rice and imitation crab, earning a perfect 5/5.Both my eldest and I chose the steak hibachi, which was served with fried rice and veggies. Accompanied by three sauces, we found the thinnest sauce to be the most flavorful, reminiscent of bulgogi. The rice and veggies were simple yet well-prepared, offering a clean and fresh taste. However, the steak was a bit tough and lacked flavor, albeit redeemed by the dipping sauces. I would rate it a 4/5.My husband ordered the chicken hibachi, which came with the same sides and garnered similar feedback. The chicken was good, albeit slightly lacking in flavor, but not overcooked. He would rate it a 4/5.Throughout our meal, our waitress and an older gentleman checked in on us multiple times, engaging in pleasant conversation and showing great kindness to our children.Overall, our experience at Inaka was wonderful, and we would definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again.

First time here and it was good, it's smaller than expected. The service is very good, they are attentive. For dinner we ordered the Japanese fried rice called Yakimesi for the lil one. For sushi we had the monster roll, Inaka mountain roll, and rainbow roll. The sushi was made well but were smaller in diameter than usual, that appears to be the style. For sashimi we had the salmon and tuna and it only came with 1 of each. All in all, we enjoyed the dinner.

Ok this is a small place with a vibe all to itself. We wanted an early dinner so at 5 we were the only ones there. The service was great and attentive and even as it started to fill we were not lost. We ordered the gyoza to go with our hot tea. There were 6 with this ginger sauce that was delicious. They didn't last long. My wife ordered the gc tuna roll and the Christmas tree roll. They were good sized roles and loaded with stuff on top. Very nice and tasty. The gc tuna roll was the right kind of crunch and fresh tasting flavor. Piled high with spicy tuna. The Christmas tree roll was fresh goodness there was something on top that was clean tasting. I ordered the monster roll and the inaka mountain roll. Wow they were wonderfully delicious. The monster roll was spicy and fresh tasting with a sauce dripping down the side that added to the flavor profile and little smokiness the inaka mountain role was big and had a nice mild spice with a great co treat to the sweet rice. It was drive to get here but worth it. This place is great. They also have a hibachi menu which smelled great. Maybe next timeGive this place a try you'll be glad you did.

None of us had ever been here but the reviews were very high!I had vegetable tempura. Everyone else had salad. They raved about the orange lemon peel dressing with mirin and maybe cashew butter. Yum!Excellent Sushi! Prices were reasonable for the quality. I'm a big eel person and I've been craving it! I was very pleased with the plumpness and amount of eel sauce. We like eel with avocado instead of cucumber. The California Roll, Philadelphia Roll all excellent. There was one roll that had a slightly toasted salmon filet resting on top of a whole roll. It was called Mt. Trashmore. It had a yummy sauce on top of the salmon. Very unique. Can't go wrong!I'll definitely be back!

Some friends and I met here on a Friday evening at about 6:30pm. They were busy so we had to wait about 15-20 minutes or so. The owner showed us to our booth. She took our drink, appetizer, and dinner orders. Between the 4 of us, we ordered several specialty sushi rolls, salad, miso soup, and salmon hibachi. My miso soup was hot and yummy. I had the monster roll and the spicy volcano roll. They both were delicious! I was pretty happy with everything here. The service was great. The food was delicious; and prices were reasonable. The restaurant was clean, and the decor was very inviting. I will be coming back very soon.

I'm so grateful to find Inaka sushi. The waitress was very friendly and my food was great. I ordered the steak hibachi. My plate was portioned well & could have easily had leftovers if I didn't eat it all. My coworker ordered the Pink Lady sushi. I have never in my life seen pink sushi, so it was cool to see. My coworker enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for sushi in the chesapeake area!

Nice, relaxed atmosphere for dining. Interior is gracefully designed. The service is excellent and attentive! The fare fresh and delicious with attention to detail! I ordered the Sashimi bento, which came with a garden salad with ginger sesame dressing, miso soup, a California roll, and Chef's choice of sashimi! This was generous and filling! Everything was fresh, from the salad to the sashimi! Highly recommend this place!
