I'm Filipino...I'm from my family is in California...I can cook some dishes like chicken adobo but a real authentic meal on a cold day like Sinigang is what hits home. I was craving it and I ordered from another Filipino place but their UberEats driver decided to take off my dinner so I decided to give it another shot and order from this place. They have my childhood favorite Kare Kare and the infamous sinigang I was craving. When it got delivered to me, I went straight for it. And it everything hits. The food is so fire Thank you for giving me a piece of home

First thing first... nice clean spacious restaurant. There's a table that always show case different desserts every time! What I like about the place is that you have different dishes you can chose from, and they have grilled, fried items you can add on. Like fried milk fish, pork belly, grilled pompano fish, meat skewers and fried desserts like turon. They change it up, which is cool. My eyes we're definitely big that night! Lol Order sigsig combo, 3 item combo with rice. Side of panekbit, 2 pork skewers, 2 fried milk fish and a turon. All we're yummy! Very authentic tasty dishes. Now.. I wasn't to happy about the lines they are long and service is slow. And if they run out of pancit or any of their combo dish late afternoon when it's busiest time they don't make anymore of that item. So the best time is to come in the early afternoon. I'm not in a rush to come back even though the food is great. Cause for me the long line and slow service just made my decision.

10/10This little adorable shop is such a hidden gem.The food is 10/10Customer service was 100/10I ordered one particular dish and it was at the bottom of the pan and they refused to sell it to me. They encouraged me to please wait for a fresh batch.I ended up waiting and enjoying the vibes there. It is so busy. People are constantly in and out during lunchtime because of how good the food is. There are a lot of chairs so big groups are no problem. It seemed like a melting pot where people of all backgrounds come in to enjoy a delicious meal.I will definitely come back!

While my daughter and I were in the area, we decided we wanted pancit and since she's been to Ihaw Ihaw before, she recommended I try it out. As soon as we walked in, I noticed how they displayed snacks and desserts for purchase so I was able to look over the items to see if I wanted to try anything out. We then walked towards the food area to order. We ordered the pancit and boy do they heap it up! You definitely get a good helping of pancit. As I looked over the other food items, I noticed the chicken skewers and they looked amazing so we also ordered those as well. They dip the chicken skewers in a teriyaki sauce before wrapping them in foil and they smelled delicious. The pancit was great and very flavorful and the chicken skewers were amazing!!!! This place has so many great food items that I can't wait to try. If you are looking for a great Filipino spot, definitely check them out!

This place is one of the Filipino restaurant I frequent. I like the authenticity of this place. Complete with all Filipino art works and designs. They also very honest on their loyalty award and advertisements are clear and would even send you a text for the advertisement. The staff are very efficient and quick and generous on their scoops. They are always very nice to ask for suggestions. The food are very appetizing and appealing. My husband is sold out to the taste. We are as well. The place is also clean and well supplied. I'm sure we are gonna come back and bring more friends.

**Preamble:You're going to see interesting troll accounts in reviews, with 2-3 reviews giving low scores but make note how more experienced yelpers and yelp elite give this business 4-5 stars. People saying Ihaw Ihaw are rude to Americans isn't true either, I was in line and the people in front of me were evidently Latino/x American and Black American all ordered grilled fish and pork belly in English (not Tagalog) and seemed to praise this place. As a Pilipine-am person raised in very Filipinx/o neighborhoods all my life, I can't go without my classics especially during winter holidays. I make it a point when I travel to support local businesses and family -run places, especially Pilipino stores, restaurants, and grocery. Virginia Beach was no exception and in fact, brought such a beautiful lovely welcome for the holidays. The food here is seriously great and the portions are outrageously sized. OK, maybe that's because I'm coming from ny/nj where things are a bit more steep in price and smaller in size, but the quality here was undeniably excellent. The holidays are centered on desserts and at this establishment, it was a serious spread of bibingka, Suman, ensaymada, even ube crackled cookies, and so many kinds of glutinous rice cakes. This was indeed a one stop shop for those who are visiting family, dropping by a potluck, and enjoying various dishes from the Philippines and diaspora. At a turo turo, I will flock to my standards: turon (banana sweet eggroll with langka/jackfruit dipped in brown sugar caramel), bibingka, any bbq on a stick. There was liempo too and bbq pork belly was savory dropped in more sauce before being packaged up. The grill marks and the sweet smoky meat was so savory perfect! The turon here is bigger than your face. I'm not exaggerating when I say this turon was gargantuan and essentially my dreams, likely a portion of 2-3 turon anywhere else in nyc or queens. That alone deserves a majority of the stars. The outside was crispy to cover the warm saba and langka with just the right amount of crackly caramel. Beautiful execution. I also had coconut embedded palitaw which is a Filipino answer to mochi but flattened like a pancake coated in granulated sugar, fresh coconut, sesame seeds. The glutinous sweet rice flour was perfect texture and coconut was fresh with small crunch of roasted energy from the sesame. A delicious dessert bite. Lastly the pork BBQ was indoors and fatty with sweet char. Service was stellar and so kind, warm smiles and a gracious welcome. 3 turon, 1 pork belly, 2 pork BBQ, 1 palitaw was just under $30. Not too shabby at all given holiday time. Hands down, I love this place and will visit everytime in on town. Thank you for the perfect treats from my homeland missing heart! Maligayang Pasko po!

OMG!!!! I loved everything about Ihaw Ihaw!!! A must try if you are in the area. This was an accidental find. I was driving aimlessly looking for a good place to get lunch.I was originally thinking of visiting another nearby restaurant. As I pulled into the shopping center, I saw so many Filipino people coming out with big orders. I abandoned my original plan to go to the other restaurant and gave this place a shot.I am so glad I did!!!!The decors inside is cute, the service is friendly, and food is very inexpensive for the amount of portions you receive. The lumpia was freshly fried for me, and the chicken saopao was absolutely delicious. I also got the 2 entree combo and loved how much rice I was given. I chose caldereta and menudo. Both were absolutely amazing. I ate everything before hubby returned from work and took a long long nap afterwards. The restaurant also serves breakfast. I am looking forward to returning before I go home this weekend.

Man am I grateful that my co-worker brought me to this restaurant. I drive pass it all the time but I wasn't so sure about it. I got the two entree with rice, chicken adobo and kaldereta. I could be wrong about the second choice because I asked to surprise me for the second choice. Chicken adobo was sweet and soft, rice was fluffy not dry and the second one was juicy and tender. The Filipino ladies were nice and patient with me and the place was clean. My entree meal was only $10 definitely worth the price and quantity.
