iFLY - Virginia Beach

Absolutely THE place to go to while in Virginia Beach! From 4 years old to 100 years old, the staff can accommodate you and make your dream of flight a reality. The staff and incredibly friendly and the flight instructors here are incredibly talented, skilled, and well trained. You can definitely tell they take safety seriously. The best part is, if you want to go again, they will absolutely let you! You can get more time and even high flights while in the tunnel! The sky is the limit if you want to have a good time! After my first flight, I knew this is something I would want to do again, so I signed up for the L1FT program! It's a much cheaper option that will get you 1 on 1 time with a coach to get you proficient at belly and maybe even back flying! You can also buy return packages if you don't think you want to be a member, but want discounted rates for you, your friends, or your family. I absolutely recommend this option if there isn't an iFly near you. If you're in the area, you definitely need to stop by and check it out! Leave mundane at the door, and walk into a world of excitement!

5 stars for the staff there, they were amazing all around! The experience itself was a lot of fun, but could be very expensive for a short amount of time in the tube. Everything is an add-on...want to fly high? $15. Want some extra time in the tube, pay up. Other than that, the process is very smooth and it's a very well oiled machine. Search for vouchers online to bring the cost down, and then it's certainly worth it!

Me and our group (6 total) started off the day with Cameron and he was so great and patient. 4 of our group were very experienced and me and another gal were first timers. After about an hour and a half another instructor David joined us as the instructor and was very good with seeing I was still struggling with some movement skills. I had a good time regardless because I didn't feel pressured to be on any level at any point and the instructors were sure to make sure I was good when I messed up. I recommend although it is pricier but that's cause it's so cool.

Absolutely loved taking the kids there for their field trip!! Our instructors did such a great job teaching about how it works and even had a hands on activity for them. We all flew and had an amazing time!

A fun activity. Fun pics! Fun place for the family, date-night, basically all ages. If you're ever in the area, stop by for a visit!

We loved it here! Courtney is an AMAZING instructor. She made my daughter and I feel super comfortable. She's upbeat and spunky. We flew twice. For our first time that was enough for me. The first time I felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack, but it was due to my glasses being in my eyes and choosing the helmet where you can feel all the wind. Courtney recommended that I switch my helmet out for the enclosed on. It was much better! I enjoyed going high. The key to flying is relaxing your body, keeping it straight, and remaining still. My toddler did amazing! The price includes your gear (helmet & suit). They also provided us with shoes since we had on sandals. I'm sure the other instructors are just as great, but we loved Courtney. Anyone age 3 and older can fly. I think the weight limit is 260, but I could be wrong. We will be back!

My son's school had a field trip here. It was a well planned out agenda and the kids had a great time. The downside is if parent's wanted to join, it was $40.00 per minute. The kids also only had a minute in the flyer. This sucked because the instructors were showing the kids all kinds of tricks and such, but in one minute the most you can do is figure out how to fly in the thing, and then your time is up! By the time I was actually enjoying it, my time was finished! The thing that really impacted me, (and most parents and kids) is that the manager who was teaching the kids, was open carrying his gun and this left the kids in a state of shock. One kid was brave enough to ask him why he was wearing a gun and his response was "I live in Virginia and it's my right!" Now I get it, we do live in Virginia and open carrying in legal, but when you are in front of a lot of impressionable kids, can you at least carry it under a jacket or something? The kids were more concerned with his gun then the great lesson he was giving. Kids are very impressionable, and I for one do not own a gun nor plan to ever. My kids came home talking more about the darn gun than his experience. I get it is your right, but you don't have to shove it in children's faces.... since you were up there teaching them!

My family and I absolutely loved iFly! I highly recommend paying extra for the high flight. It was absolutely amazing to soar 20 feet in the air. The instructors were very friendly and provided training prior to starting the activity. I'm interested in going back and learning how to do more advanced movements within the flight room. Note: There is a weight limit to participate in this activity. Also, make sure you invite someone else who will not be participating in the activity with you to take candid videos and photos of you.Cost is expensive - I recommend buying a gift card from Costco, purchasing a Groupon, or buying a package during Black Friday. Also, if you are in the military they offer a discounted rate.

This was an amazing experience! I wasn't sure if I could do this but managed quite well with the trainer assigned to us! You need to be in good shape and have a sense of balance. I could imagine myself skydiving while not skydiving!!

I love this place. The employees are so friendly. My husband and I started taking lessons here, and honestly, it is the most fun, my newest hobby. Our instructor, Brian, is so chill and laid back. Learning from him is a blast and makes it easier for me to relax and feel the wind. If you're looking for a new and fun experience I recommend checking this place out!
