This is how my friends corrected
This is what we picked up from the backery. Very dissapointing
So not only is this confectionery failure $1000, it managed to take out more desserts when it self-destructed!
And it all came tumbling down
The leaning tower of wedding cake. $1000 cake with no structural support. Clearly this was worth every penny.
$1000 wedding cake leaning over.
Our anniversary tier and cupcakes! Debra's work is not only beautiful, but delicious!
A thousand dollar wedding cake, no refund and a part of the wedding that was ruined. Thanks!
No refund and this disaster was blamed on everyone but the cake decorator.
Beach cake
It's fallen and it can't get up!
Well at least the cupcakes looked good... until they got destroyed too

I am so disappointed in the cupcakes that were done for my wedding. My friend was going to make the cup cakes and decorate them, however her father passed away and she was unable to do.We had to rush to find a place to make cupcakes and we found icings on the cake. It was two weeks prior to my wedding and I was worried I wouldn't find a place.I was so thrilled that icings on the cake said they could do the 4 dozen cupcakes and when asked if they could do sunflowers I was told yes. Especially seeing the cupcakes on the website icingsonthecakes.com (picture 3).What I got was so dissapointing. (Picture 1) which looks does not look like a professional didThankfully I had friends who went out and fixed (picture 2). After spending over $200 dollars on cupcakes they should not have been fixed.I emailed the owner and did not receive a response back in 24 hours.

I'd give this place zero stars if possible. But sadly the lowest I can go is one. Our thousand dollar wedding cake was ruined due to it being delivered hours before it was suppose to and never having had proper structural support between tiers to begin with. Before the wedding ceremony even began the cracks on the outside were evident. By the time the ceremony was over it had fallen completely over. The decorator was called and some random guy showed up without saying a word to anyone in the wedding party and tried to "fix" the fallen over cake. This was done by shoving a dowel rod into it and leaning it against a piece of cardboard. Yes, leaning the cake because it couldn't stand on its own still. After this he left without a word to the wedding party and vanished. Soon enough this leaning tower of failure decided to make a second showing of its failures by toppling forward, crushing many of the cupcakes arrayed in front of it on its way to the floor. Yes, the thousand dollar wedding cake that we couldn't get a refund on, partial or otherwise, fell again and managed to destroy more stuff on the way down. But the bride and groom have never received even an apology for ruining a big part of their big day. For someone claiming decades of experience in the industry, it clearly doesn't show. In attendance at the wedding were guests who are in the culinary industry, one of whom decorates wedding cakes and another who is in a bakery. Both pointed out the same flaws in the cake and made comment on how it would have been so easily prevented had proper steps been taken to begin with. So I write this review to caution anyone considering using this company for their wedding. After multiple attempts to rectify the problem directly with the owner, no resolution was reached. She insists on blaming everyone and everything else for her product's failings and refuses to give even a partial refund. Don't let your big day be ruined by a cake decorator who clearly doesn't care about her cakes. Avoid icing on the cakes!

We had a great experiene with Debra for our wedding cake & cupcakes! We had a tasting with her when we were in town and we got to try a whole bunch of flavor combos and it was just so hard to choose our favorites! We ended up getting a small anniversary tier to cut during our reception, and then about 50 cupcakes for our guests. Her assistant delivered everything to our venue and set it all up BEAUTIFULLY! I sent Debra a picture of a pinterest cake I loved and she re-created it beautifully! When we had our tasting we got to know Debra a little more on a personal level and you can just tell that she is incredibly passionate about her catering and her cake making! It truly is a labor of love for her. Not only were our guests telling us how delicious the cupcakes were, everybody was raving about how gorgeous the cake was! I would recommend Debra and her husband to anybody getting married in the OBX. I haven't tried her food, but she told us she only takes one catering job a day so she can give it her complete attention. That kind of dedication is hard to come by these days! Debra is a real gem.

Great service! Super nice and willing to answer my questions about our birthday cake. Purchased a tripe fudge Kahlua cake for 10 people. Generous portions, pretty and so flavorful. Would definitely buy this cake again! The perfect amount of chocolate in my opinion, and I loved the mousse filling. The birthday girl ate 4 servings in 24 hours she liked it so much. It really was a pretty cake I wish I took better pictures to share.

Icing on the Cakes did an amazing job with our wedding cake. We had a 3 tier cake and chose 3 different flavors and they were all amazing! Coconut was everyone's favorite! Debra was super flexible in letting us do a tasting two days before the wedding because we were out of town. The cake was AMAZING and looked gorgeous, it was exactly how I wanted it!
