Ambiance--From the moment that you walk in you're hit with beautiful decor and an open concept restaurant. I love the tree of life in the middle of the restaurant so unique!Service--We went exactly at 5 when they opened because we were going for Happy Hour and didn't have reservations. We were greeted with a smile but had to wait because all of our party wasnt there. However she promised that we had a table for us!Food--We went for happy hour specifically so that we could try some of their food on a budget plus we were on a tight schedule. The food didn't take long and everything was great. I loved the calamari 10. The corn ribs had good flavor but too tedious of a finger food to eat. We also had wings, Crab Cake sliders and short rib sliders. The food was delicious we will be returning for dinner!

I tried ibis over the thanksgiving holiday so my review is super late (sorry!)My boyfriend and I went here and tried three drinks from their special holiday menu. The barista was amazing and super knowledgeable on everything in the restaurant. The night we went there were two people celebrating a birthday and the restaurant provided them Mas Feathers (Caribbean costume) and played a special birthday song for them which was a cute gesture in my opinion. The layout is spacious and decorated very nice. They even have an area to snap a few pictures for great content. So with the elevated Caribbean dining I did expect to hear Caribbean music but they played instrumental of some well known mainstream songs on a loop...I personally would've preferred the Caribbean music. We had the oxtail empanadas and WOW highly recommend trying these and grabbing some to go!My boyfriend had the lamb chops and seemed to enjoy it. He definitely would try it again and the bite I snagged was good (lolI personally tried the Honey Garlic Mashed potatoes. It was a very basic and safe decision and the dish was not anything special but was delicious. The barista let us know that they do brunch on the weekend and I have heard about that from multiple people so I will be stopping by for that as well. Dessert was a red velvet cake and it was delicious. All of the plating and drinks were made with beautiful presentation as well. I recommend it for sure. Keep in mind that this is ELEVATED Caribbean cuisine and the prices reflect that. (But it's worth it)

Wow! Okay I seldom write reviews unless I have an experience on either side of the spectrum. Let me tell you.. Ibis is IT!We ordered most of the happy hour appetizers: Salmon bites, calamari and corn ribs. Fantastic! I really don't like mayo but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and expertise of the chef! My goodness! I am also first generation Caribbean American and the jerk sauce accompanying the calamari was legitimate folks! Never thought to pair that with calamari but yessir. The drinks were equally delicious. We had the strawberry peach whiskey sour and the Caribbean breeze. Perfectly made, period. As an entree we had salmon sliders, short rib sliders, crab cake sliders, and the seafood tower. Listen!! The crabcakes had no crumbs.. no breading.. all crab! That was the largest fried lobster tail I ever seen and the seasoning was perfect. I normally don't like coconut curry as a sauce... we didn't use coconut except for in rice & peas in my family.. so I was suspicious.. that coconut curry was THE BEST THING to add on that seafood tower!!But wait, there's more.. we had the red velvet cake that was the FLUFFIEST and lightest version of that cake I have ever had. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in the Hampton roads area as of today. Don't wait. But also stay home cause I'm going back every chance I get.Thank you to Larry for making us feel like we've known each other since high school! And thank you Shanita for showing us the "secret room" you can reserve for parties! What a great experience! We are thoroughly impressed.#supportminorityowned#supportlocalbusinesses

An amazing experience. Truly enjoyed my birthday meal here with my bestie. We both said we had to come back to try their bru ch on Sunday. I love great hospitality and food. I had the cajun pasta said which was great and well seasoned, not spicy at all but very flavorful. Highly recommend. Girlfriend demolished her salmon bite sliders...Will have to order those for self next time didn't swipe one to see how they were. The calamari appetizer was rather tasty as well with the in house made marinara sauce. I was dazzle by our pretty blue flaming spirit drink as well...only allowed two due to alcohol content but we had 1 so we were good regardless...no dui's here!I even nibbled on a brussel sprout which isn't my favorite veggies but would eat these again if made here.Overall 5/5 for food, ambiance, customer service and a lovely evening.

Took my mom here for her bday and so glad we went! Its so cute and elegant. We went during happy hour to stack up on drinks and it did not disappoint. Its good to note that the lab chops are spicy AF (does not say that on the menu) but the everything else we has was BUSSIN! They made her feel so special on her bday with cake and & a headdress! 10/10 for sure!

This place was amazing. The decor is great, and the room is very spacious. I came here before the official grand opening, and the food, and service were great. We started with the Salmon Bites and the Oxtail Empanadas, both are a great way to start your meal. I had the Whole Red Snapper plate, which was amazing, from the fish which was moist and flaky, and fried just right, to the rice which was extremely flavorful. My wife had the Braided Shirt ribs which were also amazing. I highly recommend Ibis! I don't think you'll be anything but happy you made the choice.

Brunch was wonderful. Chicken and waffles, Oxtail hash and lemon blueberry pancakes. The chicken wings were full of flavor, nice and crispy. Oxtail meat was shredded and placed on top of a bed of roasted potatoes and fluffy eggs. The mocktails were refreshing. Lemonade and passion fruit and lemonade with prickly pair. The servers were on point. Will definitely be back to try the oxtail empanadas that are served during dinner.

I waited an hour and a half to be seated for a party of 3 and several parties that came in after me were seated before me with little to no wait.. They took my name and number to contact me once my table was ready but when I went in to check on the wait time the same person said they didn't remember speaking to me. I was seated shortly after discovering the mix up. After my long wait, the food actually came out surprisingly fast. Unfortunately, the portions were small. I paid $26 for the oxtail, eggs, and potatoes, and honestly, I could've gotten more (and better) for my money elsewhere. That said, the blueberry lemon pancakes were amazing. $12 for two decently sized pancakes felt reasonable, especially since they were the highlight of the meal. The drink that I got was good, pretty, and got me where i needed it to. No complaints there. Overall, this seems like a great spot for drinks and a nice ambiance, but I wouldn't come back for the food. The music was relaxing, the staff was polite, and the vibe was nice, the food just didn't live up to the price or the wait. Theres room for improvement and since I know this is a new business I'm sure they'll iron out the kinks as they go.

Where do I begin! Our family of four went to Ibis yesterday for the Sunday brunch menu. It was our first time at this establishment and it did not disappoint! We had a reservation and we were seated relatively quickly; even with the large brunch crowd that was already in line when we arrived. Our server Toni was top tier by the way! The brunch menu was stellar! The atmosphere was chic and the decor simple; but very nice just the same.I had the fried snapper with grits whereas my spouse ordered the salmon & grits which he thoroughly enjoyed. My daughters collectively ordered the oxtail hash, the oxtail omelet and sweet potato waffles -- everything was extremely good if I must say so. If you go here make sure you order dessert for a little "razzle dazzle" -- we had the sweet potato cheesecake and the sweet potato pecan cake.:) Oh let's not forget the alcoholic beverages! I thoroughly enjoyed the Strawberry Peach Whiskey Sour -- we all did!I can't wait to come back for happy hour and a follow up dinner date, since we only got to take advantage of the brunch menu yesterday. I'll end my review with this.....there was no salt or pepper on the table! Everything that was served was seasoned to perfection and the presentation was great! All I can say is support - support - support!!
