Once again Hyatt Place offers the basics for business travel in a clean and welcoming environment. This hotel has everything you need, offering breakfast in the morning, a friendly check-in and a central location. The rooms give you a bit of extra space so two people can relax and not be crowded. The beds are comfy and they offer black out shades. Such an easy place for an overnight.

Oh how disappointed I am to write a review that isn't all positive about my dear Hyatt place. Being an ex Hyatt place Gallery Host and operations supervisor. Also working in sales. I have been apart of the team that opened two Hyatt place in Washington, DC when the brand first started. I fell in love with working in hospitality, working at Hyatt place. This stay was sad to say the least. If a secret guest shopper comes this quarter, this hotel would probably not perform well. I commend two host Tara and I didn't get the gentleman at the bar with the Loc's. I had a pleasant check in experience Tara. And a nice snack at the bar with the gentlemen. The restaurant was closed both nights. Which was a shame because the picture in the elevator of the chicken wings, WOW, they looked so good and I tried to get them both nights. No luck, the sign in the elevator also said something about come satisfy your craving. That craving was definitely not satisfied lol. Probably should take that sign down temporarily until the chef comes back, if there is one. I asked for towels I was told they would take 45 min so it would be best to come and get them. (When I was a gallery host we were trained to assist housekeeping with small necessities ourselves if they were busy). We also were trained to cook in the kitchen if need be. But I can see things have changed from when I worked with the company. Breakfast my last day was the best. It was a Saturday. So breakfast is opened a little longer. The grits were great the sausage was cooked good. It was just overall nice with many good options to choose from. So kudos to the breakfast staff. Whoever worked Saturday morning 8/10. The room was okay. The fridge was not cleaned. We didn't use it. So I didn't bother any one about it. It was evident that the hotel was very short staffed. I think that maybe a staffing agency would help this property in a big way. There was a big sign saying they are doing walk in interviews. So if you are in the Hampton area and looking for a job....they are hiring and could use the help. The restaurant was closed, but luckily, there are many restaurants in the area to choose from.

Hyatt Place in Hampton is centrally located, near the convention center. The room was fine, but could use more attention to detail. The clerk checked us in with huge smiles. We requested a microwave but it took nearly an hour to get it. The phone inside the room didn't work. The breakfast foods were bland, no fresh fruits.

Modern, updated and friendly! We enjoyed our stay, it was clean, staff were friendly, the bed was AMAZING. By far the best bed and pillows I've had in a hotel/time share. The breakfast bar seems to switch up the options but today was plentiful with pork or turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, waffles, grits, an assortment of breads and bagels, fruit, yogurt, cereals and juices. The only complaint is you really have to shove the room door closed for it engage. We noticed it going in but forgot when we stepped out for dinner so we came back to the room door not closed completely. Luckily it looked like no one else had noticed and stepped in. I forgot the pics but it was a great stay for the price.

Brand new hotel and it's a nice addition to the area. Great location, close to the coliseum, restaurants & shopping areas. Plenty of parking, even w a boat trailer.Only spent a night here but will, more than likely, stay here again when in the area. Customer service was good, room was spacious and comfortable. It's brand new so everything was in working order. Breakfast was great!! First time having shoulder bacon :)

Came to the Jazz Legacy Festival in Hampton. This Hyatt is relatively new, less than 3 years. It is a 5 minute walk from the convention center and 8 minutes from the Colosseum. We parked in the parking lot (which was free to registered guests). We were greeted by a pleasant hotel associate and quickly checked in.After my mandatory bed bug inspection, the room was clean and well appointed: standard fridge, iron and board, coffeemaker, desk, bathroom with toiletry items. The lobby was large, with plenty of comfy seating. They had two booth areas with private TVs that could accommodate two people. There was a bar area, which offered drinks and food ($) and an adjacent seating area for the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast menu had your standard fare: eggs, bacon, sausage, potato hash, grits, oatmeal, toast, fruit, bread and danishes, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, and milk. The hotel also had a decent exercise room, indoor pool, business center and outdoor firepit area. The one issue we had was that the hotel were also hosting some Greatful Dead fans as their event was two days at the Colliseum and our event was at the Convention Center. Needless to say, some of those folks were loud, obnoxious, and someone ran through the hallway of our floor yelling and screaming and banging on doors! There were folks in the lobby selling "balloons", vendors at the very front of the door when we got back from our event selling Deadhead merch and the front entrance was littered with busted balloons that made it look like a constant party! I have to say by the next morning, it was cleaned up, but, if I wanted to stay here for the Jazz festival next year, I may think twice if I know that they will also be hosting the Deadheads as well and only because I felt that the hotel could have done a better job with security and not allow folks to sell items on their private property both in and around the hotel. I took one star away for that. All in all, apart from the Deadhead issues, a nice, decent place to stay, a short walking distance from the Coliseum and Convention Center.

We are Hyatt people and this is an exceptional hotel. Modern, clean, in good condition, easy parking, walkable to a mall, had good breakfast, and strangely quiet. We'll be back.
