Hunt Room

Have had so many wonderful visits to the Hunt Room over the years.Located underneath the Historic Cavalier Hotel, the Hunt Room is a super fun spot with a unique, cozy ambiance. They often have live music on the weekends as well. Service can be hit or miss but the drinks and food are very good. Some of my favorite bites are the fried shrimp, the poutine, and the Pork (insanely good - I always get this for my entree if it's available!). Go to beverage? The Cavalier Soda. Although the Ghost Cat is very good too.If you're looking for a good time grabbing drinks and bites in a laid back atmosphere, the Hunt Room is your spot!

Food was very suspect while the service was equally as suspect although the waitress was very nice. The ambience was loud and not what I expected. I expected this to be a more of an upscale facility considering it belonged to the Cavalier Hotel. I got fish and chips and it tasted very greasy!!!! No flavor!!!

The service was good, but I wouldn't go to this place unless i was already staying in the hotel.The beer and food options where very limited and the food wasn't really anything great. If u are staying in the hotel, then yes wander on over to the Hunt Room and have a few beers and relax, but don't make a special trip, u will be disappointed.

The casual dinning in the Founders Inn and Spa in Virginia Beach was a good late evening dinner spot. While staying at the hotel we had an opportunity to grab a late evening meal. We tried the crab bisque and a pepperoni pizza. The crab bisque was a bit sweeter than I prefer but the scoop of lump crabmeat sitting in the middle was a great touch. They didn't have any oyster crackers or croutons for the soul. They offered us some honey wheat crackers that did not really compliment the soup. Oh the pizza, it was a cracker crush with a great mix of four cheeses and pepperoni. It was served hot and crunchy. It was delicious. It was just a little late in the evening for such a meal. We recommend the pizza and if you like a sweeter bisque then you should order it.

I enjoyed the meals here. Nothing special, but decent quality food for a fair price. What made it most fun was the servers. All seemed to be Regency students, and they did a good job. My favorite was Danielle - Bravo Zulu!

Hubs & I worked up an appetite after checking out the bridal show at Founder's Inn, so we decided to grab a bite at the Hunt Room. The good: The food was delicious! Hubs had the bacon cheeseburger. I had a bite and it was juicy and perfectly cooked. It almost made me wish that I had ordered it. I say almost because I had the smoked Gouda bacon mac & cheese. It was the best mac & cheese I've ever had. Creamy, cheesy and salty... mmmm... The bad: The service was so slooooooow. Plus, we got the sense that our server really wasn't into her job. We got a "meh" vibe from her. We will probably be back for the food, if anything else. Service needs to step it up!

I was here on Burger and Brew night. I had the Beyond Meat burger and I was blown away. So good! Also the curry ketchup is amazing on the fries!

Good food. Just don't expect good service. The swan terrace (connected) has the excellent servers but costs more. Be prepared to be ignored. On busy nights the manager plates and serves the food, but doesn't notice his waiters have ignored the patrons and they may not have all ordered (yes this happened and we paid, and left so we all could eat). The food is great (when the full menu is actually in), the beer selection is minimal and the wine is massive over priced. Their Malbec (Diseno) is $9.99 a bottle at the store down the road, but $7 a glass and $28 a bottle.

The food here was delicious. The only problem was how long they took to bring it. We got to the restaurant at 8 pm and at 10pm we still hadn't gotten the check. If you are patient than this is fine for you, but if you have young kids who are hungry; you may want to find someplace else.

Not worth the hype the front desk talks up. Ordered the recommended burger and chili. The chili came out after 15-20 minutes, about 1 minute before the burger, not sure what took so long, unless the kitchen had to warm it up in the microwave. Only order the chili if your a bean lover, their are two types. Burger was over cooked and the $1 I paid extra for bacon(which normally makes everything better) ruined it due to the bacon being burnt. It comes with these potatoes on the side, nothing special, more like breakfast potatoes and the special saffron dipping sauce served in a small plastic cup had no flavor, I asked for ketchup. Only upside the server was friendly and attentive, however he seemed to be the only server in the place.
