House of Lechon

First time here and will be back! I got here and they were closing early because they sold out! The owners asked where I was from and told them I was from Greensboro, NC. They apologize about being sold out and were so nice about it. I walked out the establishment sad. So I got in my car and got on Yelp to look for other places in the area that served Lechon. As soon as I was about to pull out, here come the owners saying that had some save for their sister. They said they didn't want me to leave empty handed and called their sister to see if I can buy it. I was so hype! The lechon is so good! Will be back for some more! Only an hour back home and it's almost all gone. Thanks for making my day! Good people, business and vibe! Tip- Make sure you call to order! So if you're in the area, stop by and give it a try!!!

I have been wanting to write this review but just now had the chance. Not so long ago, stopped by on a Sunday to picked-up a couple of pounds of lechon. Unfortunately, after arriving home for a meal of lechon, I noticed that the meat was dry and tasted as if it was left-overs from previous servings.Brought this to the attention via text message to the House of Lechon and response received was a canned response - "we only serve lechon on the same day we cook lechon" (summarized). From experience, cooked lechon served on the same day it was cooked is far tastier than day old or so. What was served was a good candidate for paksiw.Ambiance - None. Take out only.

Lechon or roasted suckling pig is a very popular dish in the Philippines. In Hampton roads we are fortunate to be able to experience this amazing meal at House of Lechon on Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach. Traditionally, lechon is slowly roasted and served whole and this is the way House of Lechon does it but every Sunday they sell it by the pound with a minimum order of two pounds. Whole pigs or by the pound orders require advance orders. They are only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM but you can place your order any day (for pick up on the weekend) by calling them on the phone or sending a message on Facebook Messenger. I've ordered both ways with success. This is strictly a take out restaurant as there is no dining room. On Sundays when they sell lechon by the pound they make a little extra for walk-in customers but I highly recommend placing your order at least a day in advance. I have enjoyed partaking of the whole pig a couple of times at events and have ordered a few pounds a couple times. It is truly a wonderful dining experience. The skin is crispy and the meat is so juicy, tender and delicious. It is served with a very nice dipping sauce. You can order the whole pig, the head, shoulder/butt or belly. Check out one of my photos for the price list. As I said before, you can order lechon by the pound for Sunday pick up. Staff is friendly and pleasant when ordering and when you pick up the order. My wife and I really enjoy their delicious pork.

Ordered a lechon for my daughter's birthday in October. It was delicious. Ordered again for my uncles birthday this weekend - also delicious. Ordering process / payment process was very easy. Quick hassle free pick up both times. 10/10 recommend.

We ordered a small lechon for my brother's birthday (59lbs for ten bucks MORE). For small, You can order one 45-50lbs or 51-59lbs for small (I believe). They have different sizes. The best way to get a hold of them is to call and place an order. If you go to their website they have their hours listed. But it appears they are open primarily on the weekends. But I recommend calling during the week to place an order. I don't THINK they are a walk-in and order type of place .We paid upon picking up the order. You ring the bell and they let you in. The gentleman had the box open displaying the lechon. He closed the box and taped it shut and loaded the lechon in my vehicle for me. I had my husband with me just in case. ;-)The meat was so tender and it was super easy to cut. I think we used a bread knife to cut through it. The presentation was great and they even had an apple in it's mouth. Plenty of meat and tasted delicious!! Definitely the highlight of the 50th birthday celebration spread!

Owners are born and raised in the Philippines. They are young...hard working...and hungry to make the 757 home. I've ordered the pork belly...twice. As a lechon snob, the skin was crispy...the meat tender and moist...the best in Virginia!!! Great people to support. You will not be disappointed!!! Psst...they are only open Friday - Sunday. Call your order at least 24 hours in advance. They don't sell on the spot.

House of Lechon, I ordered a whole pork belly Friday, they called to confirm on Sat, went there to pick it up today and they did not have my order. No apology or offer to do anything for me except upsell me to a whole pig that cost $200 more than what I ordered.

You get what you pay for. We ordered a Whole Hog was still hot when we picked it up! Will order again after the pandemic when we can have a large party!!!

House of Lechón was a great experience and I would recommend to anyone. You must try them!

Literally the best place to get lechon . I recently ordered it for my birthday party and it was the first thing to go ! The meat is so soft yet so juicy and don't get me started on the crunchy skin cooked to perfection . I also like the fact that the owners son brings the lechon to my car , I really appreciated that !
