This spot was a little hidden that might be tricky to find, and parking was a tad challenging. However, there were a good number of tables to enjoy your treat. They offered a variety of unique ice cream flavors, which was a definite plus. The staff were friendly and patient while we made our decisions.I decided to try a small cup of their mint chip ice cream. While the mint flavor was present, I found the overall experience a bit underwhelming. The chocolate chips were not as impactful as I expected, which might have contributed to the mint flavor feeling a bit overpowering. Additionally, the texture of the ice cream was not as creamy as I hoped for--it felt somewhat off. Will I go back? I probably would.

Hands-down the best ice cream I've ever had. Never even knew this place was here, must've passed by dozens of times over the years. The coconut Lotus pie was definitely my favorite out of all of the flavors we tried. But the cookie butter was definitely a close second. Can't wait to go back again next time we're in the Outer Banks.

The most amazing staff there. So nice and helpful. We loved the ice cream and one of us has a dairy free one and it's fantastic. Great spot. Highly recommend you stop here... every day!!

We were in the area exploring, and after lunch, decided to get a cold treat. Searched on Yelp and Holy Cow Creamery (HCC) came up.First, look for the Duck Deli. HCC is attached to it, on the side, but you won't be able to see it from the street very well, from your car. Look for the "ice cream" and "milkshakes" flags. You'll have walk through Duck Deli to get to it. Once outside, you'll enter a fun, bright yellow back patio with the HCC order window. They seemed to have a good variety of flavors. They also allow you to sample! I ordered the blueberry cheesecake and was torn between Death by Chocolate and tiramisu, but ultimately I went with Death by Chocolate. I will definitely go for the tiramisu next time. They were pretty generous scoops and I had my fill with a medium size! Great little patio to enjoy your treats.Things to note:- outdoor seating only- small is only one scoop (only one flavor) , medium is two scoops (so 2 flavors), etc. - basically only one flavor in one scoop- I'm assuming their flavors rotate because one of the staff members were writing the menu on the chalkboard by hand. Enjoy, Friends!

It was an okay experience. There seemed to be a limited number of places to sit. We thought it would be an actual place to go in and not a walk-up drive-thru type place. When we went in, it was in a downpour. We wish we knew what we were doing before lugging our small children (ages 3, 6, 9, and 7-month-olds) out into the pouring rain. It was nice, but it was just not easy to get to. Ice cream was pretty standard, and there was nothing really to ride home about, in my opinion. Service and ambiance also have nothing to ride home on as both were sub-par to standard. There are two cute swans/duck statues to the right of the place, which I am sure is an excellent photo op opportunity when it is not raining like it made.

This place is incredible! The ice cream is delicious and the service was super nice. The ice cream, while expensive, is well worth the value. I had the Cookie Monster and have to say it was delicious. This place pairs well with the Duck Deli next store, YUM

This place is located right beside Duck Deli (off topic - but that restaurant is a great). This ice cream place offered a lot of enticing flavors that you may not found elsewhere in Duck. The prices were definitely a little steep even for a tourist area. The ice cream was good, but nothing to rave over. Customer service was good.

Came in after dinner for some dessert. Everyone wanted some ice cream. I was pretty full from dinner and did not want anything. As I was looking at the menu I noticed the donut panini. I asked about it and the lady behind the counter said it was a warmed-up panini stuffed with ice cream. They recommended stuffed with lemon ice cream. What can I say, I ordered and it was scrumptious. I also ordered a chocolate cone in a waffle cone. The place is laid back and folks are friendly. I will be back for more.

Great selection of homemade flavors. Don't be deterred by the long lines. They are efficient. The chick fil a of ice cream shops. We had cookie butter, banana pudding, Cookie Monster, and complimentary pup cups with a biscuit. The only "complaint" would be the lack of parking. But can always park at a beach access and walk to burn off a bite of your ice cream.
