Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach - North Beach

Bianca is amazing!!!! She is so friendly, guest experience oriented, and just overall fantastic! She ensured our experience was wonderful! I really appreciate her going above and beyond! We will return just because of her!The hotel (specifically the room) does need some updating but you can't beat the view and experiences for the kids. No other hotel has an indoor lazy river that I'm aware of!! The only improvement I could offer is to PLEASE heat it:) my child loved it but his lips were blue and he froze! The hot tub has never been operable when we have stayed (3 years now). That would be good to replace!Kids love the indoor theater too and instant access to the beach! Food options used to be much better but assume staffing concerns have reduced the menus down. We really miss the old menu at the square whale! There's not much to select from now however the staff is amazing!!! I would definitely recommend this hotel and especially Bianca!

We loved this resort. It was very family friendly. They had a room with family movies playing all day long and a kids space with planned activities through the month. We loved that they had a breakfast spot on site with daily sit down breakfast. They also had a beachside restaurant that served lunch and dinner. Room was clean and we always had clean towels. The housekeeping was a bit lacking; I don't think we had our bed made once during our stay. Staff was super nice and it felt like home during our stay. I'd recommend putting in a ramp for wheelchair/stroller access to the beach.

We love the pools and the pool bar. Room was clean and we have no complaints. We'd stay again!

Hotel is older. Comfortable bed, good shower. Breakfast isn't free. $16.95 each. Elevator broken, had to take stairs. Door off balcony rattles all night with the wind. Great view if you get ocean side. Outlets are stretched out, so charging plug kept falling out. Mass kids in pool all the time

It's a very friendly family hotel. The only negative thing I can say is that the sofa bed mattress needs to be updated and there was no bedding sheets or pillows. I had to call front desk about 3 times because honesty house keeping took too long. The next when I called for extra towels I never got them and I didn't want call house keeping again. That's the only reason for giving it 4 star.... But let's talk about the Amazing amenities!! Free parking across the street only for 1 car per room. Free Buffett breakfast, kids club Saturday night "Meet Mona" lots of kids activities at the club, small but cute outdoor water park with two slides and cave indoor pool- check video https://youtu.be/DPSWUtCHJko !!!! Movie theater Sunday night new x men movie and Monday night we watched Cruella and the hotel also gives you vouchers for the kids to eat free lunch at the hotel restaurant with an adult meal. The hotel is clean, spacious and right on the beach!

It's a hard no for me dawg!What a horrible experience at this property.From the disgusting room with insects on the bedsheets at first checking to the non-working elevators each day to having no hot water it is safe to say this is by far one of the worst experiences at a hotel in my lifetime. To think at a hotel can charge a rate of over $350 per night for a hotel stuck in 1988 it's a problem. Time to start fresh and renovate or get better management.

The amenities are great for families with kids! Besides being right on the beach, there are 3 pools for your every need. There's a beachfront pool with a bar, an outdoor pool with 2 water slides, a waterfall and a mini lazy river, and an indoor pool with a waterfall and mini lazy river. The pools are not huge so if you are trying to social distance, you would have trouble doing that.There is also an indoor movie room that plays movies approximately every 2 hours. There usually aren't too many people there because who comes to the beach to hang out indoors (unless it's raining). There's a kids room that I have to admit I'm not sure what it's for. Childcare? My kids saw a cool science presentation that they enjoyed so there seems to be at least that.Overall, I would say one of the more interesting oceanfront resorts in Va Beach.

The nicest Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at. The extras: three swimming pools (two outdoor and one indoor), a lazy river, a mini movie theater (family-friendly PG movies), gym, childcare, penthouse fine dining, breakfast buffet, poolside bar & cafe. Located at the extreme north end of the boardwalk. There are lifeguards on the beach. This oceanfront hotel has plenty to do even in the wintertime. Our stay was at the end of August during COVID. Staff wears masks and practices social distancing. There are hand sanitizing stations throughout. Housekeeping does not service rooms. However, there is a system. Put soiled towels and linens in the laundry basket (provided) and place outside your door. Later in the day, fresh linens will be in your basket. We had to ask for toilet paper at the front desk. The beds are high off the floor. I am average height and had to leap up to climb in. Pillows come in a variety, marked on the pillowcases from soft to firm. The mattress is foam and I sink in a bit more than I like. But I did rest well. Because of status, we were upgraded from a double pool side room to an oceanfront suite. The initial room had a maintenance problem that wasn't an easy fix, so we were upgraded yet again to a top floor oceanfront suite. The staff seemed committed to ensuring we have an enjoyable stay. All the staff we encountered were friendly, polite, helpful and busy. A placard is required to park in the deck across the street - one free placard per room. Loading and unloading is handy in the roundabout near the entrance. Check in is at 4:00 p.m. and check out is at 11:00 a.m.. Status holders can request an additional hour at check out. This location is only slightly more expensive than the other oceanfront hotels. But definitely in line considering all the extras the resort has to offer.

My family and I showed up at the property on July 24th with a late check in. The reservation was booked back in November 2023 as a prepaid reservation. In the morning, I called the IHG to request for a note to be added to the reservation that we will be arriving late.Upon check in, I was told that there was another booking under my account for December (I tried to address this back in December. I was told since they can't see any charges to my credit card, there is nothing that can be done about the activity). On arrival for the prepaid reservation, we were told that they can't check us in unless we pay $2,566 for the December reservation (not looking at proof that I was actually in GA and have a plane ticket record to back it up) $2566 for the current reservation.When I tried to show the emails back from December about the fraud and credit card statement showing the fee in full for the current reservation, Manny at the front desk, after talking on the phone to Nelli (operations manager) told me that there is nothing that can be done and for my family to leave the property or he will call security/cops.I spent 2 hours on the phone from midnight to 2 am trying to speak with one IHG representative after another, and all they were able to do for me is to create a case and send it back to the property to be resolved.I plan to speak with the General Manager Marvin tomorrow. Hopefully, he will want to see the evidence of payment and my plane tickets to and from GA for the dates that the hotel staff told me that I was at their property and incurred charges.In the meantime, my family had to book another hotel for our stay.I am still speechless from this experience and lack of customer service. Manny called me a liar and didn't even attempt to read the email traffic or look at the credit card statement. He told me that i caused him a lot of stress

My sisters and I stayed here for the first week in September 2022. Location is perfect. The staff was nice. Our suite was clean and comfortable. Of course the view from our balcony overlooking the ocean was spectacular. The Italian restaurant on the top floor was absolutely amazing. I would recommend this to anyone without children. The atmosphere and cost is definitely geared towards adults. The hotel itself is showing its age. It really needs some upgrades. Many times, one of the elevators would make strange noises then just sit there. Everyone would jump off freaked out that it was going to get stuck. The breakfast buffet was good. They just need a few signs placed around the food areas to remind people to use the utensils provided instead of their hands to retrieve their food (that grossed me out) The pool area was great with plenty of seating, It also has a great little poolside cafe. Access to the beach is very easy. Parking is okay. They do have a two story garage across the street which is great, but during our stay there was a huge dumpster blocking part if ramp going to and from the second floor. It made it very difficult to maneuver and you certainly wouldn't want to meet up with another vehicle. Overall our stay was good.
