To begin, this is considered a resort, so there is a daily resort fee. I'm able to read, so I was aware of this.Reading other reviews of spiders, yes, that would have freaked us out, but you're in the South, where spiders and bugs abound. Thankfully, our two-bedroom unit is very clean, and the appliances are all in good working order. Well, there's no cooking going on! The bathrooms and bedrooms are VERY spacious. We are on the 2nd floor. To explain, you enter into an entryway, then go into one of two condos. We're here to visit Colonial Williamsburg and other historic sites and it's winter and just happens to be very cold, so the fireplace in our living room has been a nice addition. Wifi has connected quickly after our return to the condo. Haven't watched much TV, because we've been on the go.After reading other negative reviews, we're fortunate we had none of these problems. My check-in lady (Amanda, I believe) was extremely kind, and when I mentioned my grandson is autistic that gave us an extra hour for check-out. Concierge responded immediately to us for a clogged toilet (I think more lack of use than anything.) We are very pleased so far. My one granddaughter wants to visit the indoor pool, but we just have not had time. There are other free activities, one being a putt-putt course, but it's in the 30's right now, so we won't be checking that out this trip.We would stay again. Again, you are in a condo situation so you're going to be on the ground floor (made clear to me by the booking site) or the 2nd floor, and you will have to climb the stairs with all your stuff, so keep that in mind to look for a suite that doesn't say upstairs or 2nd floor or whatever. There is limited parking, but there's nobody beside us or under us as I write this, so we've been able to get away with parking both cars in front of the unit.Ours is in building 91, suite 425D, so look for that one!

Our family visited this Hilton property for the first time and we were blown away by this resort. Our two bedroom 1st floor unit was very spacious and furnished with what seemed new furniture. The checkin rep mentioned that it was a remodeled unit. We were within walking distance to the pools. The grounds are immaculate and expansive. None of the promotional pictures on HGV website do this property justice. Staff was very friendly at checkin and at the pool. We went ahead and booked a few more days next month. We will be back to try the restaurant. Property definitely earned our five stars!

We enjoyed our stay here with our 2 1/2 year old grandson. We fortunately had a ground floor unit and were across the street from the pools, playground and putt-putt. The 2 bedroom unit was updated and all was in good condition with full kitchen amenities. We also loved the DVD player and rentals in the activity center.

(If you're thinking about staying here - let alone buying into a timeshare - this is not the review for you as we were only here to sleep and did not partake in anything they had to offer.)As I said in the preamble, we basically just slept here and then did what we were doing in the area. But fwiw, here are a few observations and experiences:- The property is very, very large. 200+ acres. When they offer a map, don't be a hero - just take it. Very easy at night to initially get turned around trying to find your building, suite and appropriate parking space. When I say parking space, I mean parking space. Unless you reserve one the larger rooms, it's one car per unit and anything additional needs to go to an overflow lot. Yes, they do have security which patrols the grounds 24/7 and at check in they do give you a parking pass that really does need to be hanging from your rearview mirror. Also note when making a reservation that there are upstairs and downstairs units. If you don't want to be upstairs, make sure you make a reservation for a downstairs unit. - Speaking of check in, it was very, very slow. Lots of data entry on their side for things that should already be good to go and also a very long spiel about everything the place offers. That's nice but, not everybody wants or needs that.- The suite was great. Lots of space, multiple bathrooms, bedrooms, TVs and a full kitchen that was well stocked. Not so good was the one bathroom having an empty bulk bottle of conditioner at check in and the toilet in the one bathroom wouldn't flush/fill. Neither issue was addressed during our stay. Certain parts of the unit were in good shape like the beds and the kitchen, but the couch was beat like a dead horse. No way to sit on either of the cushions in a truly flat horizontal position. You're always slanted down like you were going to slide off on to the floor. - 9am on the dot the first morning and you get the dreaded call trying to stiff arm you in to showing up to one of their timeshare presentations. After that, no more answering the phone for me. I obviously said no but between that call and 10am, the phone rang three more times. I guess when staying here, no means?????The location is very nice. About five miles from Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown with lots of grocery stores, restaurants and strip mall goodies close by. Overall, no problem at all returning here for a future stay.(They've also got kids play areas, tennis, a restaurant, coffee shop, pools and various other activities that are open at various times/days/seasons, etc.www.hiltongrandvacations.com/en/resorts-and-destinations/virginia-and-dc/the-historic-powhatan-a-hilton-vacation-club#4C4443D8315C4D87B441190F97748B3A)

We have stayed here many times. Most were before Hilton took over the property. We liked the place before but now it's even better. Check in use to be a pain with a time share sales pitch you couldn't escape. Now it is standard Hilton check in experience. Quick and simple. Just avoid the "Welcome Package" (it doesn't have anything you really want in it) and you won't be in there for 30 minutes trying to check in. The rooms themselves are great for folks traveling with kids. We generally get a 2 bedroom unit and the place has a pullout couch. Everything is always clean. The amenities offered work. We had a minor issue with a lack of sheets for the pullout. A single phone call and that was resolved in minutes. They also have all kinds of pools and playgrounds and such. Traveling with family this place is A+++

Our family rented a whole unit for a birthday party. We had ample space for 6 adults and 4 children. It offered several amenities for the whole family. This is definitely a nice place for family gatherings or a cozy getaway.

My stay at the Hilton vacation club was decent. Check in took longer than expected. This place is huge, they have an onsite restaurant/bar, mini golf, pool, fitness center, etc. There are multiple beautiful lakes and walking trails as well. My room was the top unit with two bedrooms. I was surprised how big these rooms are. Comes with a full kitchen, two big bathrooms, a lovely balcony overlooking one of the lakes. The room was very clean as well. I would stay here again!

Nice property. We stayed a night not for the time share program. Typical time share condo with kitchen, nice bath and bedroom. This unit had a sun porch with patio. Security is done well, gated and guarded. Often hotels are not as safe. The grounds are well kept. I was impressed; i will consider Hilton if we choose a time share. My only con is they didn't say when booking $200.00 hold for incidentals and gave no reciept for it. I expected $100.00 but not $200.00. Others were charged $100.00. I just would liked to have known up front. I felt very safe and slept well.

We stayed in unit #262C from 9/20 to 9/25 then they finally moved us to unit 249C after much insistence on our part! We arrived Friday evening and the next morning saw a huge black spider in the bathroom tub! Reported it to the front desk-they said they would have someone spray the unit. No one came out to spray. We left to see Williamsburg and when we got back there was ants all over the table and another HUGE spider on the shower curtain (see attached pic)...called the desk again-they had someone come out with a little spray bottle of rubbing alcohol!! We had to ask for ant traps! We saw spiders every day since!!! Being terrified of spiders, and not getting any sleep for fear of being bitten, we went to the front desk again!! This time we went armed with video that my husband took showing NO VENT COVERS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING!!! AT NO TIME, did maintenance check to see where the spiders were coming from or how to prevent them from coming in!! Ashley from the front desk offered to move us to another unit which we accepted. Again taking time from our "vacation" to have to pack everything up and move it. Supposedly, she was going to have the assistant manager call us to compensate for our trouble-she sent him the email explaining what was going on-he never called until AFTER WE CHECKED OUT and then he left a voicemail. We called him back when we arrived home and he has yet to return our call-SAVE YOUR MONEY-DON'T BOOK THIS PLACE!! Awful Customer Service (except Ashley)-WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN !!! Shame on you Hilton!! No way would we ever buy into your vacation club!
