**Herman and Sadler Buffet Review** Herman and Sadler Buffet is a hidden gem I love visiting whenever I'm traveling down I-95. Despite the restaurant being attached to a truck stop, it's always immaculately clean and inviting, with fresh-smelling restrooms and a welcoming atmosphere. The salad bar, though small, features fresh and tasty ingredients that never disappoint. The highlight, however, is the hot bar, which is consistently stocked with perfectly seasoned baked and fried chicken. The flavors are spot on every time! My only wish is that they offered smaller chicken pieces or halved some of the large breasts for easier portioning. The friendly and attentive staff make each visit a pleasure. This spot is a must-try for anyone traveling through--comfort food done right with a touch of Southern charm!

I stopped here based on the website and reviews. Was very disappointed. It is located in the same building as the convince store at the Shell gas station. I was not sure I was in the right place until I saw the second door inside. I went in and stood by the checkout as there was no indication if it was seat yourself or wait to be seated. I just started walking to a booth and was then told to sit anywhere. The first booth I sat in was really dirty so I moved to another which was a little better. A sweet young girl took my drink order and said help yourself. That is how I learned it was the buffet only. No menu, no sign to tell you, no price posted. I wanted breakfast but had to eat what was there.....wish I had looked first and left...There was baked chicken, some kind of beef ( I think) and fried chicken. There was green beans, cabbage, corn on the cob, canned sweet potatoes, Mac and cheese ,rice and mashed potatoes. The chicken was good and the mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese were good . On the other side of the small buffet was a salad bar with typical options. It was ok except the potato salad was sooo sweet...??! Tea was good but no offer of a refill. I asked for one to go at the register.There's a soft serve machine with vanilla only and a few things for toppings. There are no spoons there...and you eat it out of a styrofoam coffee cup...I was very surprised at the price, especially since the main portion of the buffet was so small. Oh well....just know not to stop here next year.

We stopped here for lunch today. First time. Wasn't sure what to expect but yelp gave it 3.5 so we said "let's do it". The chicken was very good as well as the grilled pork chop, green beans, cole slaw and potato wedges. The staff was friendly. You can tell this is where the locals come to eat. The only negative comment is the table needed a real good cleaning. We would definitely stop again.

Does not have breakfast all day unless you want Fried Chicken for breakfast. Skip it and go most anywhere else for you travelers.

Very clean, popular local buffet. Reasonably priced--friendly waitstaff. Chicken was plentiful, fried was a bit dry but the roasted was tender perfect. NASCAR and diamond plate decor shined throughout!

The negative reviews are pretty accurate. Just don't stop here. It's Sunday and we walked in expecting to be handed a menu. Instead, after sitting, we were told it was buffet only today. Looked over the buffet and was really disappointed. The ham was so brittle it just broke apart when touched. The French toasts sticks were very hard. The eggs and sausage patties were pretty good. There was something that looked like chicken tenders but neither myself nor my wife could make out if it was chicken or fish. It just had no taste to it and didn't look like chicken. FYI, only Pepsi products. Heed the reviews, seriously.

It was very much more then we thought. I had the chicken piccata and was very surprised at how good it was sauce was very good and a great portion of chicken. My husband had the gyro and said it was good. The service was great and waitress very attentive. It looks to be the only restaurant that is not a fast food in this area Emporia off I 95 and would highly recommend it

We dro over a hour to Visit this restaurant the first time and absolutely loved the food. Came back a second time ( loved the food). Here today and I am having the exact same food choices as the prior times and the food is horrible. The ham is not moist or tender, the fried chicken is dry, the mashed potatoes has whole potatoes in it and the Mac and cheese has no cheese. On top of all that the very thin, female waitress with a chain w/ring around her neck and wears glasses has a full blown attitude. She displayed absolutely no customer service skills with me, like hello or welcome and was just flat out rude to another customer and not in a low voice. WOW!!! None of her co-workers heard that??!!! It doesn't appear that any one person is in charge so who do you speak to? I won't be visiting again.
