Came here for the first time in about 4 years & the jerk chicken is still the bomb! I might make another drive over this weekend & get some more!

Small corner store packed with the essentials! Jamaican food that's worth any drive and drinks. Across the street from the best show in town as well! This is a get and go spot unless you decide to eat in the parking lot. I highly recommend any tray of food you get from here!

Seriously the real deal y'all, go get ya some! The curry chicken and brown stew chicken are both delicious, rice and peas, cabbage, and yams are equally tasty. Huge portions for the price as well. This is not a dine-in joint, but the folks are friendly.

This place is the most recommended Carribean spot in the 75. So when I pulled up I was expecting greatness. The place was small and homely. I really appreciated the fasted pace and welcomedness the people were. I got the stew chicken rice and peas and some cabbage on the side. Everything was decent I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had but if you looking for something solid I would try it.

I was excited to try this place as I have tried other different locations for oxtail rice and Mac and cheese which is what I had ordered. I am not happy with this place. The oxtail was lacking on flavor almost no flavor. The rice was way over cooked. The Mac n cheese that was down right gross. It was like elbow noodles mixed with that big a$$ can of orange soupy cheese. I try a place out and if I didn't like it I would go back

Not only is this place racist but they falsely advertise their prices. My husband was there today and asked about the Red Snapper. The lady said it was $25 for 1 piece but the sign says $20. When he asked about the price difference she laughed and said, not today. He went last week to get jerk chicken. She charged him $1 more but shorted him. The black guy in front wasn't charged more and received the correct amount. She treats anyone who isn't white a whole lot better. Never going back.

This place in a gem tucked away in the core of Portsmotluth. It looks like s normal convenience store on the outside but step inside and walk around to the back to some of the most mouth watering carribean cuisine. Today my husband had oxtail with Mac and cheese and yellow rice. Not pictured is my meal lol. I had their curry chicken with rice and peas, 2 fried chicken wings and a piece of corn bread. Lunch servings they were but you definitely get bang for buck here and more than likely will need a nap afterwards as well. Their food can rival any of the popular Jamaican or carribean restaurants in the Hampton Roads area. I first discovered this place in 2020 after I'd been working at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Get there early during the week as they're a hot commodity during lunch time.

One should not judge a book by its cover. This is not a restaurant, not even a dive. It is one of those food places that only locals know about. When you overlook the appearance and find courage to go in, you won't be disappointed. I order a jerk chicken and a side of collard greens. The collard greens is the best I ever had. Soft, but not mushy, perfectly seasoned, with a tinge of vinegar. A generous serving of jerk chicken on a perfectly cooked bed of rice and peas. All these for less than the price of an appetizer at a restaurant. "Cooks and hosts" were very friendly also.

ok um home , i ask my husband to get me ox tails, he got it... um home about to eat !!!!! i cannot believe happy times charged him 18.99$ for 3 ox tails and a small red beans and rice and cabbage the size of the palm of my hand , i will not ever go here again, iam sure other places will give us our money worth ... and not beg for tips on his way out the door , for such a very small serving of food that almost cost him 20$ .... for 3 oxtails and a plate of rice and a palm full of cabbage , if you decide to patronize this place , remember they do not give you money worth!!!!!!good luckonly 1 star because i couldn't put 0

The food was amazing. I had the oxtails rice and beans with cabbage. Plantains on the side! It was delicious. The oxtails were juicy and fall off the bone! I will be coming back again soon.
