I've been here so many times and the food is so good. That's the only thing I don't like either tater tots but today I'm trying something else. The crab dip is delicious!!! Even though they forgot my shrimp. The service was not the best. The bartender was very interesting. The ambiance is peaceful, and I enjoy being here, with a great ambiance and vibe.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. It wasn't clear how to order so I stood there looking confused until the bartender asked me if I wanted to order. I ordered the burnt ends sandwich, and decided to skip the sides because just the sandwich was $15! Order came out reasonably fast, but it was a tiny sandwich. Taste was good, but overall portion size was lacking.

Great atmosphere! Awesome selection of cocktails. I greatly disliked the mac and cheese, but with the whole experience considered, and exceptional friendly service, I'm certain to return.

We hadn't been here for some time having moved to Suffolk. We stopped in for dinner and it was like coming back home. The staff is super friendly as always. The beer selection is pretty extensive and there is a beer for everyone's taste. The food is exactly as we remember it, fresh and delicious. The only issue was it was rather chilly inside, but definitely did not deter us from grabbing food.

Hank's is such a good spot! We haven't ordered food yet but they have a great beer list, plenty of wine and cocktail options, and the service was friendly. It was family friendly with lots of games for kids and adults, and is a super laid back spot to grab a drink with friends. We'll definitely be back!

Cool spot for a fun night out with friends. We were there for their weekly team trivia. The drink selection is impressive; I tried two different ciders, both of which were crisp and refreshing. The food is great as well, I had the pastrami reuben, which was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The strawberry shortcake slice for dessert was a sweet finish to the meal, with just the right balance of strawberries and cream.The main drawback is the difficulty in hearing when orders are called. The place gets quite busy, making it hard to catch your name amidst the noise, and the distortion in the speaker system (which seems to be in dire need of repair). Parking can be a challenge, as the lot is quite small and fills up quickly, and street parking in this area is a whole other battle. Despite the minor inconveniences, Hank's Filling Station offers a wonderful combination of great food, drinks, and entertainment. It's definitely worth a visit, especially for hanging out with a group of friends.

Came in on a Saturday Afternoon for some good BBQ. Im local to the area and have driven by this place so many times, I decided to take a chance and finally check it out. I love the aesthetic country Virginia feel to this establishment. The bartender that was on duty this day was NIC and he was extremely knowledgebale and helpful for my first time experience. I appreciate him taking the time to give us a heads up that a large Grubhub order had just came in and the wait would be a little longer, he then offered us drinks while we waited. What a ROCKSTAR!I ordered the Pulled Pork, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, & Collard Greens! I must say that everything was made to perfection. The savory flavors of the bbq sauce with the juicy tender pork, the potato salad reminded me of my grandmothers back home, and the greens for sure someone put their heart and soul into it ! I will most definitely recommend this place to everyone I know who loves some good true southern tasting dishes.

I took a stab at this place this past week. I ordered fried deviled eggs for a starter and the ribs with cornbread, Mac N'Cheese, and collard greens. The deviled eggs were delightful! The cornbread was burnt and very dry, I needed a lot of water to get it down. The ribs were not smoked, just seemed to be grilled. The Mac N'Cheese was pretty good. The collard greens stole the show, they were tender and had the right amount of salt and a perfect kiss of heat (spicy). I ordered German chocolate cake and red velvet cake for dessert. Be careful, I got charged $30 just for two slices of cake and they definitely weren't $15 a slice good.As for the atmosphere, it's small on the inside but opens up to a big outside area with a few fire pits and outdoor seating. The service was ok, nothing to write home about. It was frustrating that they didn't have sweet tea because they ran out of sugar. At a place that cooks Southern meals you have to have sweet tea, it complements the food.

If you want to stop somewhere for a snack or drink, this place is for you. If you want a family friendly experience with great music this is the place for you. In the chilly times of the year that have outside seating with fire pits to keep you warm . If you like to enjoy a fave beverage and maybe play pong or Corn hole and table soccer this is the place for you. The only thing we found better than the beverages or food is the service. Once you go there once they treat you like family. My wife and I found this place while attending to our daughter who inpatient at the Norfolk heart hospital for the past 3 1/2 months and the service and the outpouring support was unlike anything my wife and I experienced from any business. We recommend this place to anyone of any age as you will find all age groups enjoying themselves like respectful human beings.

Food Service and atmosphere. Iiiii like it!This please has taken over my previous number one which was Causal Pint in Virginia Beach. Congratulations Hanks! You guys win. I bring others with me.
