I had no idea this farmers market existed! I found out because I was stalking.... I mean trying to figure out how to get my hands on some Klassic Doughnuts. I found out they were going to be here so I planned to visit the Farmers Market. Locating the Farmers Market was not too hard. The area it is located in is so cute. Parking is hard. You have to park on the street which is tight! There is a small section of parking lot opened at the church, but, that fills up fast. Parking on the street is better than the lot. Be prepared to walk to and from your car. They had about 20-30 different places. You can get fresh produce, knifes sharpened, bath products... and DOUGHNUTS! It's a nice small farmers market.

I love supporting the local farmers markets around. Great way to support small businesses. Be sure to stop by!

As far as farmers markets go, this one is small but carries an abundance of character. Not all vendors attend every market, but there is a great variety. Bodacious bakehouse have you covered for your freshly baked artisan bread needs, Cowboy Syd's got your neo-southern gourmet goodies (those of you who are Norfolk locals will know about Chef Meers and his famous restaurant career), meanwhile Cullipher Farm brings you locally grown fruits and veggies from Pungo Ridge. Three ships coffee roll up in their awesome coffee machine (don't know what I mean? You should be here then!) and Doughminion Donuts brings the treats for your sugary needs, soon to close their doors in Selden Market, but they'll be here right through til September. Then there's Fayton Farms artisan cheeses offering up some finely crafted small batch cheese from Mechanicsville but locally sourced milk, and Hampton Roads Winery coming through with the vino offering a taste of their wines for $1, and my personal favorite The Flower Lady, Robin Lindsey from Portsmouth along with her heeler pup Reno - bringing fresh free range chicken and duck eggs along with locally grown flowers. It's small, but there are plenty more vendors I've not named that should be checked out. The later in the day you get there the less there is on offer to buy, but it's definitely one to check out, just make sure you bring some dollars with you, it's not the cheapest - but all in the name of supporting small businesses right!? Love your locals!!

I'm hoping as time goes on this gets bigger and better. I loved going, but it did seem a bit spread and scarce in options? I got a few things from The Creative Wedge (which is a cheese/gift place), Red Mushroom Company (fresh delicious Kombucha)...also side note: when you buy from Red Mushroom, you can bring the bottle(s) back clean and get a discount refill. I tried Klassic Donut which was absolutely delicious and the warmest and flakiest donut EVER. I also stopped by Joysicle for a fresh fruit kiwi popsicle that I'm craving right now. I didn't stop there, and also had a mini cheesecake from a lovely dessert stand. I enjoyed going, and hope they add more vendors! Especially more fresh fruit and veggie vendors, because when I think farmers market I for sure think that! I do recommend going, and picking up some yummy things! Also, a great way to spend a sunny day with your friend, family, or S/O.

I visited the market a couple of days ago. It was a small size farmers market but big on abundance and selections! I was very impressed with the selection of items available. Wine, veggies, fruits, cheese, baked goods, coffee, popsicles, sauces, spices, seafood, meats, eggs, flowers, natural beauty products and much much more! I have to say that Fayton Farms Artisan Cheeses (VA artisan grass-fed cow cheese that is made in the area) was my personal favorite! The main market season has ended -- but, GOOD NEWS!!!! There will be a special pre-Thanksgiving Market on 11/18th and most vendors will be there! Don't miss it! Great Farmers Market! @ 7400 Hampton Blvd, Norfolk, VA 3-7pm. I'll be back to stock up. Love shopping local and supporting small businesses.

Not friendly nor a welcoming vibe as my husband and I walked through the stands. I enjoy going to farmers markets back home which is in California- definitely something different here. Nobody offered help nor did they ask if we'd like to try their items. I'm a big supporter on local business and farmers, but never again will I return to this location. I bought a lemonade and a donut, I gladly said " thank you " to the female handing me the items I purchased, she didn't bother saying "you're welcome" nor " how are you?" Maybe I'm over reacting - but coming from someone who's used to being around a friendly environment and sociable people; customer service background prior to military- this was a disappointment. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because we actually found parking.

I have been trying to get to this farmer's market for months! I finally got there this past Wednesday and they did not disappoint. I tried out as much as I could. The vibe was so community=based, positive and pleasant. Precision Portions (for Caribbean spices-OmG!!!)- I LOVED the man and woman who helped me. I cannot cook and they gave me suggestions galore. They were so sweet and knowledgeable about different flavor profiles that went well different foods. The products are packaged beautifully and with great care. The vibe= family-like. I got one of each product while there. So far I have used the Pink Salt and herbs on sauteed eggplant and whoa!! So good! And I didn't have to add anything else to them. The other items are salt-free and a few samples while there showed me I can cook meals without salt and still have immense flavor. Eggleston Urban Farm- I hope I got that right. They were awesome and also very knowledgeable. I tried a lemon cucumber there, out of pure curiosity, and it was delicious. My 7 year old requested more. They have plants as well as produce. I got the eggplant, lemon cucumber, and a few cucumbers. Everything tasted like absolute freshness- I miss that taste in grocery store produce. :/ They were super sweet to my son too. That alone warrants my return. The Rustic Tart- Go. Taste everything. Oh, my. So good. We got the Chocolate Chess pie, Carrot Picasso cake/ pie and the peach dumpling. I did not get a taste of the dumpling because my guy did not offer me any- lol. The owners were engaging and so friendly. The products were beyond delicious. A recipe for success. I've no idea why so many other businesses make it look so hard. They make it look effortless. Klassic Doughnuts- I'm not going to lie, I was concerned because the donuts look a little less like donuts than other donuts. Lol. My son insisted we stop there and then I saw the kids helping their parents work and I was all in. THOSE DONUTS ARE THE BEST DONUTS I'VE EVER TASTED. I'm 43 and I eat donuts- lol. Hear me: the best. We also had the lemonade. It was perfect. I rarely get perfect lemonade. It's always too sweet, too artificial tasting, or too bland. Perfect, I tell you. Crunchy Carrot- my disclaimer is that I am not very much of a fruit eater. I eat apples, oranges, grapes, strawberries, and maybe a grapefruit. That's it. We tasted the blackberry limeade and had no choice but to buy a few bottles. Trust me, get some. We also got the watermelon alkaline water which had a lovely, refreshing, mild watermelon flavor and was carbonated. I especially liked how their line of waters has herb combinations aimed at either calmness, focus and// or energy. Empowered Plant Cakes- I didn't have much hope for these cake/ pies either frankly. I'll be starting keto and I wanted to know what I was getting into for desserts. They didn't have any of their keto fare there but I tried Chocolate black cherry pie nonetheless (I don't like fruit!!!) and it was very good. So much so that I went ahead and purchased the chocolate peanut butter cake/ pie and was no disappointed. It wasn't a heavy dessert. It was light and refreshing. I could do plant-based. Now I just have to go to their regular location to try that keto cake/ pie. I'm encouraged. I know this is terribly lengthy but I needed to touch base on all of this. Customer service and quality seems to be at an all-time low so finding a nice spot locally that offers both in such abundance has to be announced!
