We have lived right around the corner fron Guad's for several years, and popped in tonight on a whim in need of an easy last minute dinner option. I didn't have high expectations but we had a wonderful experience. All staff members we interacted with were SO nice, and so sweet interacting with our son. The food was also pretty solid. I got the California Burrito with steak, and while I'm certainly no expert in either burritos or Mexican food in general, I really enjoyed it. The steak was tender and there was a ton of flavor between the fillings and the queso/red sauce on top. We ordered the kids plate with a beef quesadilla for my son, which he enjoyed when he took a long enough pause from the chips and queso haha. We could not figure out how the bill for our whole family was under $40, but I've since discovered that kids eat free on Thursdays! The kids plate wasn't expensive to start with, but that's a major draw that will definitely have us back again. The restaurant is pretty large and seems like they could easily accomodate a larger party. It's pretty no-frills inside, but that doesn't really matter for a solid neighborhood spot. Definitely give them a chance if you're in the vicinity!

The place is very cute and welcoming when you walk inside. Service from quick, staff very friendly and quick. My daughter and I ordered the steak nachos to share and the meat and flavor was yummy. We added the lettuce tomatoes at cream and guacamole on the side only suggestion is to not be so heavy handed with the lettuce it drowns out the flavor of everything else. Over all a great experience and when I go to Norfolk I'll like visit again.

Outstanding. Best chicken quesadilla, best guacamole, best sopes that we have ever had. All that goodness outshone the surprisingly limited beers on tap.Staff was cheerful and accommodating. Tuesday 3:30-ish lunch was delicious and inexpensive. Parking is tough...not made any easier by the outside dining area for four tables that takes up two parking spaces. Bathrooms are small. A-1 Mexican restaurant.

Definitely not the greatest. Went there for a late lunch...ordered a margarita. It wasn't mixed well and tasted like the tequila was poured on top. Chips were not fresh. How do you mess up queso sauce? The large was 8$ and was like a thin soup...definitely lost my appetite and sent that back. Friend ordered fajitas and they had no taste to them. Staff was staring at us and talking about us in Spanish. Definitely will not be back. How do u mess up Mexican food?

Solid 3.5 for value. Taco Tuesday! $1.25 hard or soft / chicken or beef tacos, $2 Tecate's, $2.50 house tequila shots, $2.50 chicken or beef fajita taco. Happy hour from 4-7p too. I actually think the beef tacos are better than the (pulled) chicken, mostly because of flavor and texture; chicken are also runny. Free chips and red salsa. Queso dip is extra but pretty good. Parking can be tough when busy; also impacts service speed. Lots of other options to choose from (see menu pics).
