Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

The food is good, but the business is a ripoff. They over charge you if you don't look at your receipts. I'm not talking about a few bucks, more close to $10. Your receipt is not even itemize. Please do your math when you order from here. They try to pull a fast one on you. "Me speak no English " is there excuse. No, it's I'm going onto you off and see if you notice.

Not a horrible place but I felt the food was a little bland. I got the lunch special general chicken, beef and broccoli, pork lo main, and egg drop soup. The food was hot and it did not take much time but the food was a little on the bland side. They are all takeout and are all business on the other side of the glass. Again the average Chinese take out joint.

There is NO reason this place should have less than 4 stars! Especially when all the other options for Chinese around here aren't even half as good. We have been ordering from here at least once/month or more (not bragging, it's just really good ) since we moved to great bridge in 2018. And I have to say, there are good reasons for this place being open for 10+ years. Our usual family order is beef & broccoli, shrimp egg foo yong, shrimp lo mein & fried rice, spring rolls, teriyaki chicken sticks and egg drop. Sometimes I will get general tso, sesame or orange chicken. The food is always hot, great flavor, fresh ingredients. Also, the service is always great! Employees are pleasant and helpful.My mother lives in Va Beach and is always complaining about how she cannot find Chinese takeout near her that tastes as good. So for the past 4 years I've endured her requests to "bring some of the good Chinese" when we visit. We order from here for holidays & birthdays quite often and our friends and family feel the same way. We joke about how Grassfield/GB is the last place you'd expect to find Chinese takeout so good. They are closed one day/week and of course I seem to always crave it that day. I made the mistake of ordering from another Chinese restaurant off Cedar Rd. since they were closed, and it WAS NOT good. Idk what kind of experience the bad reviewers had and I'm a firm believer in "to each his own", but when it comes to me and my family/friends they have made some loyal and happy customers.

great crab rangoons, the fillings amazing i could eat like ten orders of these. chicken wings are also super crispy and tender. love this place

Worst Chinese food I've ever had. And I've had a lot! Hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. It was bland. Pork fried rice was bland. If after one bite I'm adding soy sauce, you've failed. Gen tso chicken I ordered extra spicy. Completely mild and too sweet. Tasted more like sweet and sour. The kids like it though. Mu shu pork. Guess what? Bland. No flavor. Only about a tablespoon of hoisin sauce provided for 8 pancakes. I haven't finished eating but I stopped to write a review first. That is how strongly I feel about the low quality of the food here. Steer clear!

This has been one of my favorite places lately. I've picked up dinner once during the weekend for three weeks straight. You get a lot of food for the cost which is great for my family. The service is really quick, always 10-15 minutes. The only reason I can't give a 5 star review is the inconsistency in how the meals are prepared. The house special pancit is so yummy but once it was very flavorful and another time it wasn't. It's not bad by any means, I just wish it was always like the one time it had a ton of flavor. I'm certain this will continue to be one of my go to places for quick and easy dinner.

Been here only once. It is a regular run in the mill Chinese take out. The house special fried rice was good with adequate chicken and shrimps. The steamed dumplings though, were another story. They were horrible. First I was not sure what was in them, it was some ground substance. Second, the dough was so thick it almost obliterated the filling. Definitely the worst steamed dumplings I have ever had. Will I go back?Maybe.Will I ever buy steamed dumplings? No.Will I recommend?Depends on how hungry you are.

I received the wrong order and once I called the OWNER they told me eat it the way it is. That they wouldn't bring me the meal that I paid for. How can you run a business like this? Shitty service do not waste your time with this chinese restaurant please.

Small sweet and sour shrimp, lunch order Szechuan shrimp, and lunch order shrimp with garlic sauce. Food was piping hot and fresh, & tasted very good. Maybe a little bit too much rice. I'd say it was about 60% rice and 40% entree. Otherwise, I think it was decent value and would eat here again. Not sure if the place is under new owners as I didn't see the usual family that has been there many years.

The food is great and will order carry out again. Only complaint, the place could use a deep cleaning and some TLC.
