Granby Bistro & Deli

Cool little convenience store and deli. The middle eastern food is great! Any time we are in the area I grab a tub of hummus and some grape leaves (they have veggie and meat options) to go.Finally tried a deli sandwich for lunch last week and was not disappointed. Just what I'd expect from a spot like this. Fresh slices of meat, toasted with mayo and a little lettuce.They also have different hot food options which I haven't tried yet.Don't go if you're looking for Wawa prices and options but if you want the feel of old school deli check em out.

I made a call in order on 04/04/2024 for a turkey sandwich combo with fries. The gentleman on the phone was nice and thorough with the ordering process and said I could come and get my sandwich at any time. It is much like a corner store with a kitchen in the back and had fresh foods in the refrigerator like soups and other sandwiches ( along with desserts ). My sandwich was HUGE and had a big portion of cheese , turkey, and banana peppers. I could barely finish half of the food in one sitting. The fries were crinkle cut with fry seasoning which was also good. For the sandwich and fries it came out to $10.52 which I think is a great deal, considering the portion sizes. When I went, I was the only one in the store so it was pretty quiet in there. This may be my favorite go to for a good sandwich and fries from now on.

To be honest, not a bad place for sandwiches. The owner is pretty chill and quiet and it's a fairly okay deli. Got the reuben in less than 3 minutes and it definitely hit the spot. Quick and easy stop in downtown Norfolk.

Incredibly disappointed, but I can't bring myself to only give 1 star as the primary fault lies here on Yelp featuring the wildly outdated photos that still show this place having actual seating with table service. This place apparently used to be a bistro/deli several years ago, but is now more of a bodega with barely enough room to walk around the crammed display shelves. Fortunately, there are plenty of other places around here to grab a seat and enjoy a meal.

Lots of tasty options like sandwiches and Mediterranean classics like moussaka to go. The grocery also includes almost anything you'd need in last minute cooking or baking emergency. The gentleman who runs the deli is a warm face to see and knows the neighborhood. If you work downtown and need a quick lunch, the Granby Bistro Deli is a must try place.

If you need anything, come to Granby Bistro & Deli. It is located on Granby Street, near the corner of Granby/W. Tazewell; beside Hokkaido Sushi. Park in one of the city garages, or on the street if you get lucky. And can parallel park.It is a one stop shop - a mini grocery store - with all types of drinks in the fridge, dry goods, snacks, canned goods, toiletries, and of course, deli food - they serve different types of deli sandwiches, and specialize in Greek food. Mr Adel is so nice, and has helped me a couple times. Each time, I ordered the gyro and fries. This combo only comes out to about $9. He makes it fresh for you. I learned that this used to be a restaurant, but some years ago, it switched to a grocery store/ deli style shop. They even have a lotto machine in here - I've gotten scratchers twice and won a little something both times! Maybe the next time I'll win BIG. I hope.Anyway, support this small shop. You can tell the owners have put a lot of time and love into it over the years. It even kind of reminds me of the Philippines, like a little "sari-sari" store, if you're familiar with that. :)

I ordered a Reuben sandwich and I was very disappointed. There was no flavor at all. Of coarse there was plenty of cheese. The photo showed the sandwich with fries, of which there were none with the order. I was saddened with my order. Maybe the other things on the menu are better but I'll never know.

Granby Bistro & Deli is not closed!Please come out and support this little local shop. Downtown Norfolk has maybe about three total convenience stores, and I'm glad that this one reopened!This little store is ran by a a local Mediterranean family, and they are so kind enough to share their recipes with us through their menu. They serve Mediterranean food, southern comfort food, and classic American favorite dishes as well. Their food is served fast, and with convenience, but you can tell that everything was made with a picked out, or made with a pair of hands. I wish they never got rid of their patio seating area. Support local, shop local. Visit my favorite bistro and deli on Granby!

A lot of items packed in a very small space but I can almost always find what I need in a pinch.

I ordered fries with no salt and they were perfect and fresh. The store sells a bit of everything, they have a take out menu. The owner is courteous, the store is organized and clean.
