My husband and I finally tried Gran Maya on a Saturday evening. We recently moved closer to the area and have been on a mission to find the best Mexican restaurant nearby. Gran Maya made the list, but unfortunately, it's not at the top for us.I pass by the restaurant often, and the parking lot never seems full--this was the case when we arrived, so we were seated right away. The restaurant was spacious with plenty of seating, and with few customers that evening, we enjoyed a quiet dinner.We started with complimentary chips and salsa, but we had to ask for the white sauce--just something to keep in mind. I ordered the Burrito California as a bowl instead of in a tortilla, and they were happy to accommodate. My husband went for the Texas Burrito. Both dishes arrived quickly, were generously portioned, fresh, and flavorful.While it's not the best Mexican food I've had, the food was good, and the environment was nice. It's worth a try if you're in the area.

OK! Aim not too sure how to put this experience into words. So this is the place my bestie chose for her birthday. Let's start with our server. She was very pleasant and attentive we kinda figured out she was a little new because other staff came over to ensure we had what we ordered or needed. A few of us had drinks. I chose the Dirty Shirley which is the Vodka added version of a Shirley Temple. Well that was a horrible choice as it tasted like Robitussen DM. So that didn't get finished so never order that drink... now the reason I gave them 3 stars is because we went to use the female bathroom and how can i describe it. You ever talk to someone that had rotting stomach bad breath like that not eating onions bad breath that's something rotting deep down in your stomach bad breath. Well that bathroom smell like the pipes were rotting from the inside. The whole time I was in there I became a mouth breather. Then I thought what if it's something airborne OMG! How am I going to breathe through this. Grand Maya please get your pipes fixed, because other than that you could've had 41/2 stars. Fix it Jesus!

I came here finally wanted to go in ever since it opened, haven't so I had a lot more time today so I went and ordered to go and inside was lovely clean and beautiful. The server who took my order was friendly. I ordered Tortas of the lunch menu with steak and than I also got the tacos de carne asada for my brother. Took it home and the torta the bread was flat, but it was good. The salsa was tasty and good flavor. The chips were ok and than my brother said the tacos were good and the rice was good as well. Took 10 minutes wait, but did not seem long will go back to try the other items on the menu.Though when I looked on the menu on website the lunch price for the tortas was not the same as I ordered at the restaurant, but it was fine I had enough. Menu needs to update the prices though to reflect.

I visited Gran Maya twice over two weeks. I can say I enjoyed both of my visits.Pictured below is the Fried Avocado Tacos and a Steak Quesadilla. After all of the toppings the tacos were great (minus the store bought barely toasted tortillas). The quesadillas tasted fine but nothing crazy to make it stand out from other Mexican grills. Service was odd however, I was seated by one person, drink brought by another, third one took my order, and a fourth for the bill. Regardless, I was always taken care of with refreshments and check ins. This restaurant seems to be on the slower side both times I've visited but with that being said the staff is still constantly moving whether it be cleaning, stocking, or checking in on customers. Restaurant was very clean and felt pleasant to be in as a result. I believe the restaurant could possibly benefit from things such as fresh made tortillas in house. Or perhaps a better structured staff. With all that said I definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoy a Mexican grill.

I had high hopes but sadly did not like the food or presentation. Pros.....Parking lot, clean, I liked the inside and decor. Service was good. They have HH, lunch specials, vegetarian options and a kids menu. I sat at the bar. The cucumber jalapeño margarita was good. The salsa was good with the chips. The chips were ehhhh. Definitely not made in house and bland. They were warm which I liked. I finally decided on the Fish Tacos and they came with rice. 1st the presentation. Boring and I have never had tacos served like this. Never! A piece of fish in a tortilla with everything on the side. And it was very bland and fishy at the same time....if that makes sense. The rice was way way overcooked and was mushy and bland. I had 2 bites. Sadly, I don't think I would return or recommend. There are so many Mexican restaurants in this area that I prefer. Maybe I ordered the wrong item....I don't know but I didn't care much for the food.

Very large burrito for a great price. It came out quickly and the service was splendid. The quality of the burrito was fantastic everything was cooked perfectly. I'm excited to try everything else on the menu. :))

I really enjoyed my experience at Gran Maya. My friends and I showed up at lunchtime just about an hour after opening. The parking lot was big and empty so we were not sure what to expect.Fortunately, we were met with smiling faces and were seated immediately. Our server, Isabela, was great and helped me choose something from the menu. Before she left for her break, she communicated to us that we should ask another server to help us, who was very friendly and helpful as well.I got the birria tacos and they were really delicious and filling. While we were eating, many more parties filled the tables and the environment felt much more homey and family-friendly. I loved the food and the music! I look forward to coming back again.

There is no wait time. Fast service. It is not as good as my favorite Mexican restaurant Food is a little on the greasy side when it is steak. Fajitas taco salad was just Ok. I have had a few things and it seems a bit smaller and I am always comparing it to my favorite place. There always seems to be one waiter and they have never been busy. When you don't see cars in the parking lot and it is not busy inside that usually means they are not that good and we have a lot of Mexican restaurant in this area. It is a big restaurant. We have tried them a few times because the first time we went was not great. I like their white sauce for dipping but their salsa is a bit bland and they have thick chips and they toast them a bit to much.Well the best thing I can say is that they can improve and I will be happy to hopefully increase stars just because they are the closest to our house. So far they are not as good as my favorite

Not sure how long they've been in business, but the interior is fresh and clean, the menu's were spotless. The menu was varied and included items like goat that you don't see often. Service very efficient. Prices very reasonable and food was delicious. Restrooms clean.

My mother love Love LOVES this place, but we went the other day and my stomach had a terrible reaction to it. I asked her about it and she said that she has that problem EVERY time she goes??? But she says the tummy problems are worth how good it is. She gets the Pollo Vallarta and my dad gets Pollo Tropical and they both swear by it. The service and atmosphere are great but if you have a sensitive stomach like me and don't have time for multiple bathroom trips the next day then maybe skip it this time!
